It's not just "some people", Vic himself said it on a stream on 2/24 for the Anime Unlocked app that he was heading back to LA to record more Jojo. I posted it a while back but it was copyright claimed.

Speaking of... is it me or are a lot of companies that should be in competition of each other all working together creating blacklists? It seems a lot more prevalent than it used to be.

The number of players in this industry is less than it used to be. There's not really that much "competition" any more. I mean, you've basically got Aniplex, Viz, Funimation and Sentai. And only one of those have straight up blacklisted Vic so far. Two of them have the same parent (Funimation and Aniplex). Viz is still working with Vic. RT ain't really an anime company. CR is a distribution service.

Discotek rescues the old stuff nobody else wants, and I believe Justin Sevakis (of ANN "fame") works with them, but they don't really dub, so Vic is not losing any opportunities there. Same with Animeigo.

If all these dub companies stopped working with him because of his behavior, why is Vic getting more popular and arguable richer as a result of his recent roles? Nevermind the conventions he went to before all this happened.

This shouldn't be news to anyone if this behavior was exhibited by these other studios. But it's like these people think that the solution to stopping his behavior is to kick him out of studios and conventions. Because that makes sense, right?

Even now, they still think doing the same shit by removing him from Funimation and Rooster Teeth will stop it. That's what makes this so unbelievable.

It's almost like these people are inept and have no fucking idea what they're doing or talking about.

I don't know about that. All he mentioned was Jojo. He also said he was recording an audiobook. He's also working on a Star Trek book project based on what he said at Bak Anime, I think. His IMDB page is also available for future projects. He might be in One Punch Man Season 2; I don't know.

That's how most "journalists" do work now anyways. Tim Pool talked about this on Joe Rogan. Most journalists on the "left" just follow each other and just continuously jerk each other off when it comes to stories and scoops. Whereas most "right" or "center" journalists are more likely to follow people from everywhere on the politically spectrum which is why they're more likely to provide more balanced reporting. They're also at risk to heavily biased reporting, they're just by and large less afflicted by it than their left-wing counterparts.

You are right, but "doing more research than left wing journalism" is the lowest bar there is. Its like saying, be less autistic than Chris.

It's been a rumour for over a decade that Vic is creepy. I find it weird so many people are defending him.
Being creepy isn't a crime, I know, just fwiw I don't really believe he is innocent.
I have always found it strange how people deify voice actors, especially Vic in particular. FMA is old as shit. Broly is a popular character and all but he's kind of a potato personality wise (though I haven't seen the new movie, so maybe he has some personality now). He's not Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin or long time beloved character. Why does Vic disproportionately get so much attention? He's been at almost every con I go to, everyone has seen him, he is nothing special? I really don't get it. I imagine it has a lot to do with self-promotion.
Most VAs are awful, aside from any political stuff, but just at doing their jobs. Most of the women are screechy as fuck. The translations are cringy, and now they're shoving in political nonsense too? What a disaster.

The problem is people watching dubs and, apparently, enjoying them, and treating the VAs as celebrities and like the actual characters. I can't believe Funimation is even still around as a company. This is why I only watch the original series in Nipponese, so I can hear my waifus' voices just as kami-sama intended.

Well, I wasn't really just thinking about just Anime, either. There's a lot of this trash going on in other industries, too. Just not sure if this is some dumbass marketing department bullshit convincing out of touch suits about bad optics or some inherently sinister cultural bullshit from said marketing department to convince out of touch suits. It's hard to differentiate between idiocy. I mean, in football when a team drops a valuable quarterback because of behavior issues another team is on that shit like a fly. They're right there ready to catch the guy for their team and Vic is a crowd pleaser and draws in the audience, you'd think any one of these companies would snatch him up now that his obligation with Funimation is over.

So yeah, is it just marketing being stupid or is it marketing being woke? Explain to me why they hate money.
