He is technically right about his previous 'DST' claim. It is an hour earlier in regards to the planet.
It is the same hour in regards to the official US time, as for why he chose to say: "an hour earlier", was just for pragmatic purposes, since he has a large % of his viewerbase in EU.
An unorthodox way of saying it, but understandable, so why are some people fixated on criticising this?

Problem is, he's talking with someone who knows what he's talking about (for the most part, it seems), so despite his repeated declarations of victory, he's just looking like an ass (big surprise).

Seems like a decent bloke. No insults being thrown by him, seems to understand the game and is calmly attempting to explain why Dark is talking out his ass. Dave just seems to fall back on "I can't do/react to it so it's lag".
I like this bloke. Doesn't seem to have a problem with Phil himself, he's just explaining why he's bullshitting. Much more fun to read than people just saying "ha you suck scrub".

Yeah, the best way to "troll" Phil is to not troll him at all. Just have a normal discussion with him and watch him sperg out because he can't deal with it.

I think you missed the part where he said his streams would start and end an hour earlier "until Fall".
So no, he isn't 'technically right', no matter which part of his audience he was supposedly talking to (which, again, he didn't bother specifying, only adding to the possible confusion).

So it seems the bloke was insulted by Dave on stream and that lead to the exchange. Seems like he was legit just looking to have a discussion with him but of course Phil has to be all smug and run away from someone who knows what they're talking about. Shame, but it just shows how closed off he is from normal human interaction. There were no insults being thrown, no undercurrent to the messages. Just a bloke he insulted in front of hundreds of people explaining how he was wrong.
Even when you bear no ill will to him and hurl no insults Dave will just act like you don't know what you're talking about and essentially run away. Color me shocked. GG Josue, GG.

What's even funnier is that he literally thinks "he did nothing wrong, he did everything correct" even when he is shitting on people for having an opposing opinion to his. Like it was said, this guy reached on on Twitter because Dave felt the need to shit on him on stream. Then when responding to the guy on Twitter continues to tell the guy he is wrong because his fragile ego can't handle not being right. I am honestly amazed that he is able to keep his paypigs under the pignosis when he is so toxic to everyone who interacts with. One day it may catch up with him, maybe...

Yeah, Phil's full of shit (act surprised). As far as I'm aware, you cannot kara Q's command grab. However, Q does have a kara throw that has insanely good range but the downside to that is that he will throw you behind him every time which will move them away from the corner where you can't pressure.
Kara cancelling in fighting games is when you do an input a certain way to cancel the input of one move to get more range or the benefits of that move. So, let's say you're using Ryu in Street Fighter Whatever; you do Medium Punch and quickly (we're talking a fraction of a second) cancel the startup frames of that MP with his Shoryuken and that extends the range of his Shoryuken because it has the range of his MP. I know for a fact with Q that his kara throw is back+HK and then you cancel the HK with a regular throw to extend the range of the throw. Kara cancelling has been a thing in fighters since forever.
Obviously Phil confused Q's kara throw with the command grab and also LOL at using Tyrant Slaughter with Urien. I don't know why he insists on using the bad supers with Urien and Hugo (contrarian faggotry is my best guess) but you don't use those supers to win because those supers are really bad. Everyone uses Aegis with Urien. Everyone uses either the 720 grab super or the Hammer Mountain super with Hugo.

Phil just says whatever he thinks makes him look good in the moment, then he worries about the consequences later. Because he's a fucking idiot, his excuses are always terrible like this, though.

I just learned more about fighting games from you in that 1 comment than I ever have watching Dave play. Sad a professional can't be more educational about a genre he apparently used to love playing.

Basically, Phil accused the guy (cyclestev) of picking "lag characters" (cause that's a thing), OP characters (Urien with Aegis against Phil's Urien with Tyrant Slaughter) and also counterpicking his Hugo with Remy and acting like Remy was impossible for Hugo to beat. If you read the Twitter stuff, however, Remy is cyclestev's main, apparently, and also Remy/Hugo is only 6/4 in Remy's favor--so an advantage, but not the lopsided match Phil portrayed it as.
Phil loves Tyrant Slaughter because he can mash it out any time an opponent is doing an attack and generally run them down with it for heavy damage. Aegis reflector would require that he be able to competently do combos, and he can't.
True facts. Also, Phil can't be educational because he only memorized matchups and patterns. It's why he gets so thrown off when people do random shit sometimes. He knows that character X is supposed to do move Y as part of combo Z. If you screw around with that, he's lost.

I think it's a little from Column A and a little from Column B.
Not just fighting games. In Call of Duty, he was complaining that he couldn't shoot opponents because they were phasing in and out and "transporting" around the field.

I remember him doing that, but I can't recall 1 time I agreed with him. Every time he died the person was just coming round a corner or behind him etc. I swear to christ it's like he forgets we can see the game and just throws shit out there hoping it sticks. I can't really speak to the lag excuses, like when he says his bullets just weren't connecting. But that sounds an awful lot like stuff I used to say when I was 14 getting my shit pushed in by much better players.
