Sorry, I'm confused about that range of height between the sexes thing. Was this a study of a particular group of athletes or ? Because there are several countries where the average female height is less than five feet.

TBH I find this guy so despicable but also (as someone else put it) a true sherpa taking the masses to peak trans, and couldn't be a more perfect characterization of malignant narcissism, male bluster, misogyny and obvious logical fallacy wrapped up in hubris. As for his cortisol thing, it's extremely complex. Women with estrogen dominance have low levels of free cortisol. High levels of cortisol can cause periods to stop, as well as induce a sort of demi-menopause. Many "elite female athletes" also have their periods cease. Oh gee, I wonder why? Why could that be? TRANSPHOBIA no doubt.

They experience this, it's suggested, because of the physical workload they're under.... because they're female. Females aren't biologically supposed to be the hunters. Their bodies have to work extra hard to compensate.
God, this guy is dumb as a bunch of rocks, I can barely believe it.

Also, since when did "expectations" play any part whatsoever on forming of biology in the womb. That's "literally" not how any life form on the planet works, Rhys. Like "literally" never.

Good data visualization has always been a challenge and communicating your point through clear, concise and impactful visuals is one of the major supplements to academic research. I've really enjoyed Rhys posting this freshman-in-undergrad tier data visualizations because they consistently prove that he is a fake, garbage academic. Ignoring the validity of the data he's trying to discuss (I'm sure there isn't any but others have argued better):
  • Dumb bitch used either balloons or map tokens for no known reason:

  • This is essentially just a timeline- ie, a one-dimensional event list over time- yet there are meaningless height differentials from point to point; as the points themselves faintly resemble balloons, this is confusing and stupid
    • Actually it's barely a timeline- the gaps between the data points aren't even adjusted to allow for comparison of gaps between points
    • The points themselves are a mix of policies and three years that rhys seemingly chose at random to support his point
  • The data presented does not argue the point. How many trans athletes were submitted for consideration and rejected only for lack of athletic merit?
  • The colors presented mean absolutely nothing. Flare for the sake of flare is a no-no.
  • There is no reason whatsoever for the portraits at the bottom. This means nothing and is just an attempt to make the picture look busier as there's no merit whatsoever to the actual data
  • Good data speaks for itself and does not need propaganda or conclusions embedded into it. A better approach is to present the data and separately draw your conclusion. Mashing these things together is purposeful and is a way to coerce the reader into interpreting the data only and exactly as demanded by the presenter.
Of course the whole thing is moot as in the end rhys argument cannot possibly support his conclusion:
  • Olympic policies have changed in recent years to be more "inclusive" of AMAB transwomen competing against natal women
  • Not many AMAB trans women are in the olympics
  • THEREFORE: AMAB trans women do not have a competitive advantage of natal women
The first two points, even if supported and proven sufficiently, do not support the conclusion. Every argument Rhys makes only serves to prove what a fraud of an academic he is.

And the thing is, this is an incredibly dishonest argument because Olympic athletes are typically young, and the phenomenon of trooning out children is still pretty new. Remember, even World Champion Rhys usually competes in the age 35-44 women's division.
There just isn't a large population of Olympic-aged troons who are into sports rather than fantasizing about becoming Sailor Moon - so far.
