I doubt he has a full irl day job and he's totally reliant on his patreon for his own personal income.
My personal theory as to why he started his patreon in the first place was because he either left or lost his job. either that or he legit also has some illness.

It's possible his illness prevents him from working full-time and he could no longer justify passing up literally thousands of dollars people were begging to give him. Still, I'd expect him to at least find some part-time work. If he has any resentment, it's because the internet has become a significant portion of his income, which he of all people should know is fickle as fuck.

Either that or he's become Jade's paypig.

i remember on one stream, i think it was the SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP stream, he mentioned that he could outlast him at screaming shut up cus the other guy will have to go to work or school or something implying jim doesnt have those. idk what he does but he seems to be ok financially. i think he closed down the patreon for a bit when he got pretty sick and couldnt keep up with vids so it doesnt sound like he's relying on it.

Let's just hope Jim has paid off his student loans. He's one of the 73%+ of guys with worthless college experience that isn't going towards his job; unless he's one of the several James Patrick O'Shaughnessys who are college professors.

Metokur is living the dream of passive income, he hasn’t produced any content since stream.me went down and has moved on to the lucrative world of findom.
The way I look at it his patreon is a bit like a season pass for a video game. People are happy paying for content they know fine well they may not get and if they’re dumb enough to do it, he’s happy enough to take it.

I don't know why there's even a mystery about why Jim's audience pops up as "gay beta orbiters" or why everyone talks about him. He's simply the most popular guy in the IBS sphere. He has the ability to just conjure up the next big thing by appearing on a couple streams. The entire IBS/Knoxville and beyond saga was basically created by Jim giving some retards a massive audience by being on their streams for a while. Of course he always comes up when the majority of everyone's audiences are Jim viewers. And since he disappears and reappears at random, people tend to be thirsty for more content.

I like Dear Feeder and his streams but it's painfully obvious that he's extremely resentful because Jim got very popular for "reading Kiwifarms" at no cost or effort, while Josh has been dealing with a lot of bullshit and no financial support. He's said as much himself on multiple occasions. I can't blame him for the frustration as it is pretty bizarre that an Irish boomer laughing at retards can just do that successfully for a living.

In reality Jim became popular because he's a reminder of the old Internet and because he's just fun to listen to regardless of the actual content. Did he use KF for some of his videos? Yeah, probably. But KF didn't invent laughing at stupid shit on the Internet and I'm pretty confident he still would have been popular even if KF never existed.

I fully agree that it's gay to ruin something like Tooter with shit memes but it's also gay to tell Jim that he's not allowed to laugh at certain shit anymore because you think you own it. He's entitled to tweet anything he wants as much as anyone else and it can be argued that Josh himself is going to start causing the same problem as his streams become more popular.
