Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Everyone in the main cast has easily identifiable involvement as directly causing the drama rather then fueling it. Shane is not on the main cast list as an example. If we listed everyone involved the OP would read like war and peace. The conspiracy plots in game of thrones are more straight foreword then what went down in the Anime VA community. I'm really just the scribe though so if people really feel someone needs to go on then they will go on.

Fair enough.

Beard might end up finding a crapload of false accusations when ANN_Lynzee and ANN_Bamboo sent out a request for DM's. That could be an awful long list of Fujoshi.

Short of literally putting out a classified ad offering to pay for fake stories, ANN couldn't have more brazenly asked for fake stories.

From what I understand, it has something to do with Texas unions/regulation, but I'm not fully up to speed.
Union/Non-Union work is a mess in of itself.

Essentially, union actors are barred from working in non-union projects. This doesn't stop said actors by going under an alias/pseudonym in order to do that work though. One of the noted examples in terms of Funimation was when it came time for dubbing the Android/Cell arc for Kai and a certain Dameon Clarke (Cell) has moved into being a union actor working on projects like Borderlands as Handsome Jack. So damn, that's a shame.

Oh! But have no fear! Mr "Dartanian Nickleback" literally sounds exactly the same as their "previous voice actor" for the role, so all is well and gold. No, of course not. Clarke and Nickleback are totally not the same person.

What's funny is that Travis Willingham was originally set to play Cell in Kai since he took over from Clarke in the video games but then that role got swept out from under him. Nowadays Clarke has reprised the role proper.

No he isnt, fuck you for making me look.

If you asked me at the start of this, if girl anime fans could be as bad as guy anime fans, I would've said no. But after what I've looked through during this whole thing....

Disagree with me all ya want, but I find the third photo to be cute. Yes it’s kinda cringey, though I still like how she cosplayed and wrote happy birthday on the sword for Vic. That’s the kinda stuff that I’d expect from fans of VAs. Not the majority of fans being a buncha “white cis misogy-nerds” that harass women and call in swat- Oh wait.

I think the main cast list on the first page needs some additions:
Chris Sabat (Crime Boss/Enforcer)
D.C. Douglas (sneaks into women's restrooms to record himself)
Josh Clark aka "NJ4K" (#kickvic pathological liar and possible sexual predator)
Perhaps some more people from ANN:
Zac Bertschy (Well...)
Mike Toole (Little Boy Who Cried "Nazi!")

You missed DC Douglas Masturbaiting to completion in public for an audition.

I expect though that the Beard can hire a Japanese lawyer to serve the paperwork to Allison and let her know that her presence is required back in America and since she is a loyal citizen, she had better show.
Can you imagine that? Hanleia hears the doorbell ring, and standing at her front door is harmless-looking little old Japanese man in a nice suit. He hands her an envelope. She asks what the hell this is. He replies "omae wa mou shindeiru" before throwing down a smoke bomb and ninja teleporting away.

Yeah, I remember way back when 4kids still had the rights to TMNT and when they made the finale episode for the 2003 series (which was a crossover with the 80's series), they couldn't bring on any of the original actors because everyone who was still alive was a union member and 4kids wasn't unionized.

Cam Clarke, Rob Paulson, Barry Gordon, and Townsend Coleman were unable to reprise their roles (James Avery, most well known for playing Uncle Phil, was the original voice of Shredder, and was obviously too expensive), and were replaced.

Somewhat hilariously, Paulson was so offended by his replacement's portrayal of Raphael that he said something along the lines of "he was passable, but he's definitely not the kind of person I'd let my daughter date."

Canada was mentioned earlier, so which of these unfortunate individuals live there? Because the thought of these people facing Canadian defamation laws is hilarious. If I were Vic I'd sue as many Canucks as I could since it seems like an easy win.

ANN is a Canadian corporation.
