Maybe lowtax should open an E/N thread. Then he'll get the "respect" he deserves.

Also apparently the "American Folk Archive" got everything back in 2015. Not sure if they still archive it but w/e I don't think it'll ever be publically available anyway.

This situation makes me sad. Ive never been a member of the SA forums, but I grew up reading the site. The first time I remember seeing it was probably 2003 or so. The website back then was so fucking funny, I went there everyday to read their ROM reviews, shitty movie/game reviews, and their articles on whatever. The best shit they made was the "Weekend Web" articles, where the goons would find a ridiculous message board, like people into fucking animals, or my favorite was the Bug Chasers. They would screenshot posts and then write funny captions under them. Hilarious.

Maybe I found it so funny because I was a teenager, but once I went to college I stopped reading SA. I have went back to check it out every once and a while, and it seems like it has fallen pretty far, in terms of how funny the content is. I was unaware of all this drama and bullshit, but it still makes me sad thinking about SA possibly disappearing. Reading that post that Lowtax wrote was pretty depressing. The dude is clearly a shell of who he used to be.

Whatever happens, I will remember the Lowtax that made me laugh in his absurd short "DOOM HOUSE," and I will fondly remember him boxing Uwe Boll, etc.

His forum was in the right place at the right time at the dawn of the internet to build it's own community and he has done literally nothing with it in almost 20 years.

It lasting this long is a statement to the community and it's inability to function anywhere else, not some majestic project spearheaded by a visionary.

If the guy was talented or actually worked then I'm sure he wouldn't have completely squandered the millions it paid him to the point where he ends up in a forum that hasn't changed since the clinton administration whining about his arthritis and demanding handouts to continue doing nothing.

Lowtax got bailed out again, what an extremely lucky man. I would hope that he'd take this opportunity to reflect on how pathetically low he had to go to siphon money out of his community on more time and uses that shame to better himself and give back to them. But he won't.
