as an aside I have no idea what they think they will accomplish here, if Reuben gets removed from his role as Dante the fan base would go fucking nuclear since he has played him for 3 mainline games, and majority of cameo appearances, Capcom will gain nothing from this and will only hurt their relationship with their fans they just barely built up again.

I don’t know how Nick can make it any clearer, short of travelling to TX and shouting it into bullhorn right next to their dumb heads.

It should also be pointed out they chose to attack thinking it'd be like all the other controversies in recent times, where Buzzfeed, HuffPo et al would be able to signal boost their case and amplify their narrative and theirs alone.

Had this occurred six months ago? Heck, even as far back as January we'd be in a much more different position as the bottom feeder propaganda units would be screeching this stuff out as good click fodder which is what ANN and Gizmodo tried to do. I think the biggest reason that this happened wasn't merely the fact that the big outlets that would normally be pushing it have bottomed out. It probably isn't helping, but hear me out: the blue check brigade are still focusing on the outrage du jour, even if there's less of them. Nor is it the recent Luke Perry backfire or Kavanaugh before him, though those were definitely contributors.

Something else happened. A tactical error at the heart of this. A single small change that fucked everything up for them:
Vic didn't own up to the accusations and immediately went radio silent.

Normally, when one of these accusations goes out, the accused goes and publicly apologizes in the hopes that it stems the flow of attacks. It never does, of course, it just makes them worse and now makes the accused easier to condemn since now the accused is obviously guilty. The tactic is way easier against someone who spends all their time on Social Media. Vic doesn't, and didn't own up to jack and shit.

Without that, it's their word and accusations they can't prove against someone who's already in touch with lawyers. All that was needed then was to watch and wait, and they gleefully obliged Vic by trying every tactic that they'd used during previous Autistic shitstorms. This was a problem because exactly as was they case with every previous shitstorm, they can't prove shit because facts aren't on their side.

At a minimum you would retain it and file it away. Non criminal incidentsand complaints don’t get given to the police. Certainly not by the third party convention. Unless the convention is calling police in on an ongoing matter or crime.
