I can't see Rekieta getting all excited about Sony stepping in to save the day for Funi

It’s way too early for any settlements. Nor would any announcements of such be going through Rekieta.

Okay off-topic question to anyone who might know, what is the criteria of meeting the standard of 'shithouse con?'

Picture an abandoned dilapidated Supermarket or old K mart building. Congratulations! That’s Shane’s venue hall. Plumbing is optional!

As for anime, I think it also reflects on the character's personality, like wild fiery guy or girl gets red hair. But I am not a master of weebery so feel free to correct me.

Generally, but color theory has always been a thing when it comes to art, comics, cartoons, what have you if only to remind you that it's fictional. But only the spergs and art students look deep into that shit. Guaranteed the dangerhair dyeing her hair blue-green doesn't understand color theory and is either a "recovering" weeb who idolizes Sailor Neptune or some Disney character too much, or just thinks it makes her special.

Renfamous is getting all pissy again.

Oh, and I am unable to find the stream Vic did today. I have to pay Unlocked to get the video, which I have no intention of doing.

Serious question: Is Renfamous a chick or a dude? I can't fucking tell.
Pretty sure Ren really is a chick. Just with a case of unfortunate ambiguity.
And another thought on the follower thing: you know she's noticed, and that's just one more inch on the hateboner for Nick. It's as if these people use metrics like this as a determination of one's right to exist. Like a kind of dangerhair Sword Logic, for any old Destiny players.

Well she is the 68th most powerful person in comics even from an opinion piece done by one person on the Bleeding Cool Website. You do know right, RIGHT? Seriously though your right she pulls out the "You don't have x amount of followers" card a lot.

It's never too early for settlements. The earlier the better. A settlement probably wouldn't be announced at all, though, unless an apology or retraction were part of it.

Yeah I've been part of closed door negotiations for six figure sums before - they often wrap up in less than a week. Sometimes it takes only a day to discuss, with an agreement drafted and executed the next day. If there were sufficient motivation for a party to settle it could already be done.

You're right in that we would not know anything about it, they would probably include a confidentiality and non-disparagement clause [I assume these exist in the USA, correct me if I am wrong].

I think an apology and/or retraction would HAVE to be part of it. I don't think Vic is doing this for the money. I think he's doing this in an attempt to repair some of the damage to his career.

They do, but see above...

I have a feeling the instant the first lawsuit drops we're going to see the mother of all paranoid twitter meltdowns from the people involved who didn't get served. I can't wait.

The actual reason anime characters have different style and color hair is so that characters stand out and become more memorable. Japanese people are pretty homogeneous, so if everyone had black hair, it would make for a pretty confusing show.

IIRC, it's also because most early manga was printed on shitty b/w newsprint at low detail so characters wound up with exaggerated hairstyles and weird crosshatch hair just so you could tell them apart. When these got adapted to anime the weirder patterns became bright colors just so they'd convey the same sense of difference from the norm, and then it just sort of became a cliche from there.
