For the uninitiated, Reeves and Winter have been trying to make Bill and Ted 3 (with Ed Solomon, the writer for the first two) for fucking years now. It's a project that the group are legitimately passionate about and have had fans asking about since Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, and it was originally announced back in 2010. Unfortunately, it's been pinballing back and forth in development hell since every studio that they've talked to just wants to reboot the franchise and kick everyone involved with the original out, because that worked so well for every other franchise that did this.

Well, that long time in development hell is finally over and the boys seem to have had their day, making the announcement on Twitter this morning.

I really hope this is at least decent.
 
Make them middle-aged losers with man-child qualities that hang onto their youth/accomplishments and go from there. Add the fact that they actually are saviours of the world, and in the future will be praised and revered... but currently are still trying to make a living in music and nobody knows them, and you can have a funny movie.

I'd watch that.
