When I was three I wanted to be Optimus Prime. Should doctors have grafted an ion blaster onto my right arm?

I'll never understand the argument that even though people are not old enough to consent to sex until they're 18, they're perfectly able to decide to have their genitals lopped off at 3. But then again maybe the people who want kids to be able to consent to sex changes also want them to be able to consent to sex.

Which is terrible, but at least it's a logically consistent terrible.
