Police weren't able to file charges because no crimes were committed..

It's funny, I liked the Patlabor movies OK (I was settling down with a family at that time and didn't really fully appreciate them, I will probably go back and watch them someday), and tried out the TV show afterward and man they are 100% different from each other. Didn't care for the TV show at all despite there being more action.
I didn't watch the TV shows so I wouldn't know just watched the 2 movies, liked the movies, stuck with the movies.

I don't think this will sink the entire dub industry. Funimation? If things really are as bad for Sabat as they seem and Toei revokes their license for Dragon Ball, then that company is on death row. They lost their one brand that consistently makes money and has longevity, they're a building without any foundation. LA seems to largely be fine. Excluding a handful of spergs like DC Douglas, they have largely stayed away from this whole thing, so odds are there won't be much blowback either way. Plus, Viz Media recently brought Vic in to do some more work for JoJo (I'm assuming it was to dub the Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe OAV as a Blu-Ray bonus), so it doesn't seem like he's blacklisted out there.

If the industry survived New York's fall, they can survive Texas' fall. Odds are a similar series of events will happen when New York fell: LA based studios will pick up the really lucrative licenses (Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, and Attack on Titan) and the VAs who aren't completely ruined from the lawsuit will either leave the industry or move to LA and find moderate success. Even if certain VAs get extra spergy and start to strike, they will get replaced by one of the million actors looking for work in LA. Remember how a few years ago a lot of high profile actors like Troy Baker, Nolan North, and Laura Bailey attempted to strike for a pay raise? They were replaced in nearly every major role they had and faded into obscurity, the same thing would happen here.

So before I forget and turn in for the night, this popped up ealrier today but I'm not sure if it was ever brought up since it dropped druing the speculation about the stream and KamehaCon announcement. Seems like Samantha Inoue-Harte is updating her story on her fake SWATing. To MarzGurl's credit, she seems to indicate that she's skeptical of it. Guess she's tired of being burned, but not enough to still spread it around.

Seems Samantha is now saying it was #IStandWithVic who faked the Swatting on her and lists a phone number of the person who did it.

  1. Why did it take an entire month for you to say this shit? Usually, swatters or harassers are caught very soon. What made you not say this stuff on ANN the following couple of days later? This is a common trend for these "victims". They wait long periods of time to finally reveal the (supposedly) true story of what happened at a particular moment.
  2. Why are you posting this shit considering that you might be sued by Vic? Why are you still posting shit on the internet?
  3. Can you believe this? "I rashly rushed a private post on my Facebook page about personal threats to me, and a physical attack on my property, before I had the necessary facts and photos." Yet she believes the "victims" of Vic just by their words.
  4. "I made a mistake posting to my private Facebook page while in this highly emotional state." This is exactly why we don't "listen and believe". This right here is why. THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE.
  5. "Let me be absolutely clear: I did not fake a swatting. My harasser did." You did fake a swatting, sweetheart. Why else would you say: "Police apologized and helped fix my door." if that never happened whatsoever? They don't fix doors that they don't break down. Does she not know what swatting looks like? If she was swatted, the SWAT team would be there securing the place by the time she arrived. The neighbor would have noticed a nice big SWAT truck by her house. It's clear that you ran with the swatting narrative and made up a story about it despite a lot of circumstantial evidence saying otherwise.
  6. Why are you releasing one of this dude's phone numbers? Isn't that essentially doxxing?

Lauren still isn't taking the news well

This banshee is pretty autistic, isn't she?

well, except in laura's case. she has a somewhat lucrative position again in a friendly setting that likely will never get rid of her (unless she pulls something like the guy that played tiberius did) and does in fact pull some cash.

I'm still laughing about Toye leveraging his Company in the Kamehacon strong arming.
So I wonder if Mr. Tuttle will find out about Mr. Toyes exploits on Monday because a little birdy probably dropped him a hint? And no not saying someone from KF would just saying 8000+ viewers someone may call the branch manager to try and clue them in on what could possibly be heading their way, honestly wouldn't blame them though not the company's fault.

The interesting thing is that Soye's company is probably smart enough to not tweet about what happens to RonnyCuck when he is held accountable by them, because it would be stupid for them to say anything - You know, like Funimation did when they dumped Vic. I only hope that someone is able to detect when something happens and spread it to the world. His removal needs to be spread to Twitter, even if all we get is an autopsy.

I'm seeing people so scared for the safety for those women at Kamehacon but i'm worried about Vic. With people who are obviously against him and those VA's who hate his guts, I feel like he's going to get assaulted

As others have already mentioned, quite a few members of Vic's legal team will be present too and ready to absolutely control the narrative if anything happens. What's more, even if someone pulls off the ultimate stupidity and harms Vic in a permanent manner, I would think his family becomes the new plaintiff. If someone can speak to this, I'm curious if there are legal provisions for such a circumstance.

And that is the absolute joy in all of this. Knowing these idiots are raging and want to get revenge on Nick but can literally do nothing to him haha. On the other hand nick keeps calling them cucks, soys and morons every other stream and if they are watching those they have to listen to it everyday ROFL plus not to forget the lovely superchats :story:

Its like that Shane stream when nick started reading all of the mean superchats and he coudln't say anything in reply instead just had to sit there and listen the whole butchering. Even more wonderful is that people are almost sure Iago is Sabat and probably has a lot of pride but even he while watching these streams has to sit through all of the insults ? without retaliating.

They also continue to hand over more and more ammo to prove conspiracy and malice on the main cast as well as offer their necks for the headsman as defendants and needing to be depositioned (Can't say deposed, as that means something else, though depositioned sounds wrong).

Huh? Troy Baker, Nolan North, and Laura Bailey are all still very lucrative and prominent voice actors. Just because that strike didn't work out for them doesn't mean they faded into irrelevance.

wait subs vs dubs isn't ironic? probably due to me only really following jojo in terms of anime. I'm kinda surprised since a lot of those actors are considered iconic to their respective roles. like people might like Matthew Mercer as jotaro for example, but a lot of people just think Daisuke Ono's performance is perfection for the character. Maybe the debate is more prominent in other franchises though (such as, say dragon ball I assume is one of those properties). otherwise the only other one that might be a improvement over the original I could think of that's agreed on massively is Ghost Stories.
Maybe Shin-Chan. But there's a common thread there. Comedic re-dubs tend to be good (as long as the comedy holds up) because they can take properties that otherwise might not sell and push them in new directions.

Personally I tend to prefer dubs over subs, but that's because I tend to multitask while watching shows. So while I prefer being able to listen to the show in my native language, it doesn't necessarily mean I think the English VAs are better actors, and it certainly doesn't mean I hate subs. I went through a weeb "all subs, all the time" sort of phase years ago, but since then I've found myself going back to dubs out of sheer convenience.

In retrospect, "fading into obscurity" may have been a bit of an overstatement. However, there's still no doubt that the strike hurt them in the long-run. They have definitely fell from the crazy amount of work that they once got. We're no longer in a time where every male character in a game is voiced by Troy Baker or Nolan North. Laura Bailey probably got hit the hardest, basically all of her reoccurring roles (Trunks, Lucina, Chun-Li) were taken over by other actresses.
