In retrospect, "fading into obscurity" may have been a bit of an overstatement. However, there's still no doubt that the strike hurt them in the long-run. They have definitely fell from the crazy amount of work that they once got. We're no longer in a time where every male character in a game is voiced by Troy Baker or Nolan North. Laura Bailey probably got hit the hardest, basically all of her reoccurring roles (Trunks, Lucina, Chun-Li) were taken over by other actresses.
Sometimes I think about how Troy Baker didn't get to come back and voice Yuri for ToV Remaster

Dumbass. Rape kit tests and sexual assault kit tests exist for a reason. Use them when you've been assaulted/harassed. The technology is there.
No, it obviously makes much more sense to accuse someone of sexual assault ten-fifteen years after the fact when you don't like that someone is gainfully employed. #metoo #believewomen.

Well, after a certain point, and @AnOminous can probably correct me if I'm wrong, having a disproportionate cash advantage is sometimes a strong enough case. Even if Vic fails on all actions, forcing the associated parties to retain legal council (read: pay them) can be damaging enough, especially if it drags out for months. Vic only goes in the red if the crowdfunding dries up, and he has to pay himself. Now, the other side can crowd fund as well, and she should probably hope that Vic doesn't have a monopoly on a "vicious rabid fanbase."

I don't know about that. Troy and Nolan still get gigs in big things and Troy has roles in very notable upcoming games like Death Stranding and Last of Us 2, and judging by her filmography Laura is still doing well in the video game industry. You are right though that she has kinda disappeared from anime voiceovers. She did nothing in 2017 and 18 and only has one new role this year.

There's a video of Vic at a panel where he talks about how a lot of the Funi actors that moved to LA don't work in Funi productions anymore because of the pace of simuldubs, that Funi needs actors that live close to the studio because they have so little time to get a show done.

Also I'm not sure how time consuming Critical Role is but that could play a part in it too. Either way Laura and Travis are probably thanking God they got out before all this shit happened.

wait subs vs dubs isn't ironic? probably due to me only really following jojo in terms of anime. I'm kinda surprised since a lot of those actors are considered iconic to their respective roles. like people might like Matthew Mercer as jotaro for example, but a lot of people just think Daisuke Ono's performance is perfection for the character. Maybe the debate is more prominent in other franchises though (such as, say dragon ball I assume is one of those properties). otherwise the only other one that might be a improvement over the original I could think of that's agreed on massively is Ghost Stories.
that's the rube. from my perspective, anime is valid in both forms. look hard enough, you can find die-hards that literally wish death on the other side (dubbers wishing death on subbers). it's frankly funny as fuck to find one.

they mostly hang out in comments sections on youtube though.

If it will please the court, a humble weeb can explain how Subs vs. Dubs plays into this.

The problem is the reveal of Funimation actively fucking with shows by inserting irrelevant topical references and personal political agendas to things like /Gamerghazi/ into shows, including examples from:

Hajimete no Gal
Prison School
Dragon Maid

and possibly more shows yet to be discovered;
(There are more examples of the offending material from other video essays, such as NECROXIII, found here; NXIII goes further in depth with examples. )

All of this having been done by Jaime Marchi and Tyson Rinehart as scriptwriter and the one who approves it for broadcast/simulcast. All of this being revealed to the uninitiated normies by the "anime elitists" at the exact moment #KickVic went all in with the moral fagging against the fans who wouldn't drink the kool-aid, and Lord Rackets came in to the chagrin of the dangerhair horde.

Most of the time, people laugh at others who go hard about Subs vs. Dubs in either direction, but it's now become a moral/financial imperative to western nihongophiles who still have a uninfected brainstem to run, not walk, away from Funimation and the YT shills that push(ed) their products;

(( JoeyTheAnimeMan, his GF AkiDearest, Giggik, Digibro, Sydsnap (Giggki's GF), and the king of Anituber cucks, Geoff (Mother's Basement). ))

The war ratcheted into hyperdrive all because of YouTuber Uniquenamosarus making very sound arguments and cases for why pirating is good for the hobby against Geoff, as well as being directly responsible for stomping Geoff in his eDick by raising $55,000 total for the 2018 Animator Dormitory Project and showing exactly how filled with shit they are and anime fans rallying behind him to support the charities that actually help the industry, by them putting his money and reputation where his mouth is, and people flooding in from his CTA;

This was brought about by when Digibro did an explosive factual take of stock against Crunchyroll when High Spice Guardian was revealed to have been funded on the money Crunchyroll has been claiming goes to the anime industry when they've really been posturing and pocketing for themselves over the years;

This was before he caught the infection, turned on fans about Goblin Slayer and went woke (and broke).

TL;DR:
It used to be a meme, and then Funimation and certain YTers turned out to be physical manifestations of John Carpenter's The Thing.

Now it is procedure to roast, bully and mock anyone defending the US Dubbing industry because of how cancerous Funimation has become to the representation and optics of english-speaking anime fans.

I'm praying she, Troy, and Nolan disappear because they're so annoying. She lacks range.

Am I only one to suspect Ren is also a Spacebattler cause her line of "reasoning" is awfully similar to the KickVics over there.
