why I wondered before about the entire industry burning down. depending on how fucked everything turns out, japan may just decide to abandon dubbing altogether and go subbing only, which would be a bit sad (got a family member into anime but they vastly prefer dubs) but also funny as fuck to watch weebs cry.

This would be terrible. We'd go back to the dark ages of anime not bothering to get releases here, bad dubs, and a ton of innocent VAs - Vic included - being out of a job. At most Funimation is going down, I'd think. Maybe Crunchyroll too. However, I anticipate Funimation will settle.

Incidentally, Funimation settling is the ideal for TFS. It won't drag them down, it will open opportunities for them where other VAs will be vacating spots, and it will make things overall a less hostile working environment dealing with Funi.

It's a crappy le edge anime that only has violence, sex, and shock value going for it, and if you like it anyway that's good for you, but you're not SJW if you think it's a dumpster fire of an anime. Rising of the Shield Hero is the anime to point to for that. It's actually really well made, compelling and interesting, and "waaah it has false rape accusations and slavery!" nonsense completely ignores the fact that those subjects get used for titillation or humor in anime all the time and yet no one blinks (See: Konosuba, where the MC is constantly pressured into things by the threat of girls calling him a rapist otherwise, but it's played off as a joke). Comparatively, Shield Hero actually treats those subjects seriously, but virtue signalling dummies choose it to attack instead.

Am I only one to suspect Ren is also a Spacebattler cause her line of "reasoning" is awfully similar to the KickVics over there.

Somehow, it doesn't surprise me that Spacebattles would be full of Kickvic. They're wrong about everything else, why not Vic?

That video is taken out of context. Apparently they made fun of a bunch of people in it, and Sonny + Vic laughed about it later. TFS operates in the USA. they operate on USA law. unless suddenly japanese has cucked the USA or made them gay, which I've seen literally 0 signs of. USA law is quite clear in that regard. sure, the EU and shit exists, but they're about as effective as picking teeth with a porcupine.

This is what would happen:

Toei tells Youtube 'Teamfourstar is stealing our property on these 200 videos'.

Youtube takes those videos down and suspends the channel from strikes.

TFS disputes this with fair use.

Toei denies the dispute immediately (Funimation isn't there to tell them to stop), because Youtube's fair use dispute system is stupid.

TFS loses their youtube channel.

TFS lacks the funds to even try to sue Toei about this, and so they have no recourse but to try to find an alternative platform for their videos, which has never worked out for them so far, and hope Toei doesn't come after them with CND letters there.

It doesn't matter that the law backs TFS up, Youtube won't, and the team doesn't have the funds to make the law do it.

And the convention can easily say: Lineup subject to change at any time.

Most conventions already say this, because while they might have contracts, con-goers aren't privy to them and things might happen so they could get new guests or lose current ones on short notice. I'd be surprised if Kamehacon doesn't already have it. AFAIK, the reasoning is that you're not paying for the ticket to see the guests, you're paying for entry to the con and everything that happens to be at the con. The guests are just a perk, like the swag they hand out.

Shane has always said Vic isn't guilty of being a sexual predator. He just claims that Vic 'accidentally' does it. He's vague about it, because he presents himself as being a neutral party 'on Vic's side'. If you try to parse what he's saying through all the screaming and chair abuse on the stream with Nick, he claims that Vic isn't intentionally hurting anyone, he's just got 'old fashioned' sensibilities, so he thinks he isn't hurting anyone when he really is. Shane's solution is for Vic to admit to everything but apologize and say 'I did it but I didn't do it with malice' and then vanish for x amount of time before going on his 'comeback tour'.

Basically, Shane wants Vic to follow the normal recipe for these kinds of accusations that never, ever works. At least that's what Shane claims to want. He's obviously kickvic and knows this strategy is career and reputation suicide for Vic, but it's his way of appearing to be on Vic's side while he emotionally manipulates Vic into caving to kickvic.

I'll believe there won't be any more Dragonball anime when the Super manga ends without a replacement and the movies end and it's been a few years with nothing. Also it's important to note that just because 'Super' isn't coming back doesn't mean Dragonball isn't coming back. It'll just be 'Dragonball X-Treme' or something else silly.

To be fair, one of the reasons I got into Goblin Slayer was because his English dub voice actor, Brad Hawkins, was none other than the motion capture artist for the Doom Slayer in the 2016 Doom reboot. I also like Rising of the Shield Hero and KonoSuba.

I never understand that attitude. That early career stuff means you paid your dues. Yeah you laugh about it when you hit the big leagues, but you don’t disavow or bury it like it was gay tranny porn.
