Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

In the previous thread, I had posted a couple of screencaps of a Serebii Pokéfag being stupid in their Vic Mignogna thread. Well, the thread got locked because the mod can't handle the fact there are people who believe in due process even for an alleged sex predator.

Bryan Cranston is only one of the very, very lucky few who was able to land the stardom a lot of other aspiring actors wanted, and as much as I dislike his snubbing of his anime early days, I can understand why the times he was trying to make it in was something he doesn't want to look back on.
Still a dick move as he's done western animation voices after he got fuck you money and started getting 'serious' roles. Anyway I'll always remember him as Tim Whatley the rapey dentist.

I read 40+ pages of this thread, saw numerous screenshots of REEEEEENfamous screeching, and fun factoids about law and anime to state that: Laura Bailey and Troy Baker most likely stopped doing minimum wage anime roles for big budget video games because they became new parents over the past few months/years. (Not together though Laura with her husband Troy with his wife etc)

I bring this up to state, maybe if Jaimie, Monica, and Chris applied themselves more They wouldn't be in this autistic group trying to blacklist VA with shady deals.

Which leads into the other subject: anime voice actors are highly dependent on the creation of anime, the actual, substantial, wide, propping base that supports practically all of their livelihoods. And unfortunately as reality has it, anime is not produced in the States. It is created in Japan.

With the confounding amount of lack of drive to attain cultural knowledge and vast amounts of mental retardation as displayed from weeaboos since the late 1990s, there isn't an anime market in the states, and in turn neither the kind of seiyuu community you'd find in Japan.

But with the SJWs trying to control media production, and with all of their shrill whining this side of entitled anime elitists the world over, instead of trying to legitimately realizing both the cultural worth of anime that its impact on the US has made, and even trying to make grassroots, they think they can control fan voicepieces, conventions, communities, and even production and licensors to open more opportunities through shrilling and WRYYYY-ing (ie WHINING) at Japan. Which is only counterproductive because they are going to kill what makes anime so good and profitable in the first place.

Until we can see the day when people can get it through their thick heads that anime isn't this untouchable style of art, either by superiority or inferiority, anime isn't going to have a major industry, here in the States, and in turn dub actors are going to have to live on the straight and narrow, or turn to the residual pay based industry of video games.

Rial and Marche, Sabat and Schemel, Bertschy, Chapman, Toole, Loveridge, and Saucedo really don't understand this. At all.

Yea remember people fawning over Ninja Scroll and Legend of the Overfiend and other like overfiend, parents didn't like it so much. Probably made the Pseudoname just in case it got worse and blew up like the DnD scare in the 70's.

I actually loved that about anime back then. Pissing off the fundies and the lemmings that were pushing out child brainwashing media worse than Barney, like Psalty and Colby the Computer, and thought the Apocalypse was imminent, and where JRPGs told everyone the fallacy of the supposed power of the church. Ironic nowadays, the neckbeards and SJWs are the ones to fight and don't like anime. Guess we know who were the cucks that invested too much of their existence to throwing their weight around with their hobbies.

I never understand that attitude. That early career stuff means you paid your dues. Yeah you laugh about it when you hit the big leagues, but you don’t disavow or bury it like it was gay tranny porn. It humanizes the actor. “We’ve all had some shit jobs. Or did some weird shit to make rent when we were starting out.” Type of thing.
It's a deep-cut Hollywood thing;

The Academy and old establishment film festivals and union groups laugh at your career if you've had early work in anything "childish" or child-adjacent without a slew of dramatic/melodramatic/hard R/experimental/Typecast-Breakout/Musical Theatre Originator/Blockbuster/Heavily Syndicated roles.

The West is dogmatically puritanical in this sense, whereas "White Left Hollywood" is amoral -- It doesn't matter how fucked up the role and what you have to do in it is, as long as you "die (suffer) for the art."

The East (China, South Korea, and Japan specifically) are much more accepting and forgiving of this, because of the clearer separation between public and personal life -- yet JP actors still look down on early work they consider shameful as part of their "dark past": the part of thier careers they disown or rather not associate with.

There are out-and-out JAV and gravure artists who work on children's media in JP because of this;

Companies like Toei don't give a fuck about how many dicks get ran through you in a week, just as long as you keep your "adult life" and "actor life" separate and out of the spotlight as a major problem (i.e. drug problems, CP, murder, etc).

This is crazy. She's saying that she hopes a girl actually did get raped in order to save her ass for lying. Jesus, that's so fucking dark.

So, she agrees with Amanda Winn Lee's opinion, then.

There's other actors who have dabbled in anime. Nathan Parsons, Kiefer Sutherland, James Avery, and Elizabeth Berkley to name a few. I don't think they look back on it shamefully like fuckin Cranston does. Plus all the celebs dubbing Ghibli films.

The va strike was still one of the stupidest things....people like Brina Palencia and Jason Douglas appeared in The Walking Dead. Troy Baker was in a CBS western miniseries that aired on TV. It's not like voiceovers are the only thing sustaining their livelihood.

Tug posted this, can anyone confirm Hart posted that number? EDIT: If you search the number people are complaining about it being an Indian health insurance scam call before, on the day of and after the event. Also if anyone can archive it would be appreciated, the ones i typically use aren't working for me.

In fairness to Cranston, he may be legitimately in a tough spot here. He did his few anime roles under a pseudonym (Lee Stone) because they were non-union. If you think Cranston is wrong, first consider that SAG is bug fuck insane when it comes to retaliating against their members for doing non-union work.

I don't think he hates his early roles. Or at least I haven't seen evidence of that. I think he's not happy that people connected the Lee Stone name to him.

Did we all confirm who Iago and Igor were?

No.

I’m not saying REN is a paid professional shill. But I am saying that REN is what a paid PR disinformation and Defamation shill looks like. For example the secret Facebook Campaign waged against Roy Moore in Alabama last year. REN is using a remarkably similar script. And that is precisely what she is doing today. It’s a script. Designed to reargue every point from a position of fake strength and try and force the other side to respond on her terms. It’s pure Gaslighting.
She acts like any insane, shrieking bluehair impotently screaming angry gibberish.

This is the reason I don't think she has to be a paid shill, or that she is. She's acting too much like numerous lolcows with too much time on their hands and an inclination to wear down their opposition. She particularly reminds me of Nora Reed. Things like her constant accusing other people of what she's doing herself, making sure to include her accusations in every tweet, and demanding everyone play by her rules when they have no reason to do so - all classic dangerhair behaviour.

Someone needs to take the picture from the Nora thread of her shaking her fist at Randi Harper and make it Ren getting angry at Nick, Vic, Ty - any and every person she's currently impotently raging against.

Oh and according to her Social Media History, during that "decade in the Texas Con Community" who never heard of her, she was also a flamingly racist homophobe.

This gets swept under the rug way too easily for my liking. Instead of engaging with her on her terms, I wish more people would just post the pictures of the evidence and ask why they should believe the words of a bigot. Never deviate from it, never reply to her words, just remind everyone of her past and use that as why she should be ignored.

Wow. I'd stick it to Bulbapedia's "srs buizness" pokemon die hard assholes, but Seribii? Yikes. And already I thought pokemon diehards were already shitheads that try to hard compensate for their cuckery.

disregard my previous statement on Cranston I suck zingers for breakfast

Holy shit I finally fucking caught up without opening another can of Four Loko and just drinking myself into a stupor over all of the absolutely asinine autism going on from people like Ren, people like those panel cancelling cucks I've never heard of(people here saying they're from "Gay Theories", if so they don't belong at a professional con then), people sperging out on PULL.

There's two kinds of weaponized autism in the Weeb Wars right now. Kiwi Farms is using it like a sniper rifle. The KickVic side is using it like a nuke being set off right next to them while sunbathing.

This is correct.

Actor Unions do not like talent going against the grain. They hate any fansubbers who get big because of this, because they control who gets into AAA-media.

Both SAG-AFTRA and BAFTA do this, because the media they supply talent to can make or break a career, because of it usually winning awards on virtue of the group's name recognition alone, while further boosting the pedigree and prestige of the industry machine.

A scream queen like Joey King will be a Jennifer Lawrence in 10 years, if she plays her card right.

Men, however, have to subsist on finding smaller parts and jobs that won't see them typecast as Generic Character Insert #1242 at casting calls, so they have to diversify.

This was what drove Bryan to hold out for Breaking Bad; a necessary footnote and step on the ladder of show-business that remains on the air for 3 seasons or more with possible spin-offs and merch opportunities.

Roles like these allow you to become a household name, and VAs who typically never go on camera CRAVE these kinds of breakout star leads.

Ghibli is seen as art nowadays. But I mean Mark Hamill did a voice for Ghibli before it was cool to be in “That wacky old man in Japan movie thing”.
Edit. Phone doesn’t like this website and is fucking with my autocorrect.
It's not really just Ghibli though its Disney/Miramax being involved helps. PLus Disney likes to used already established actors in their stuff and VA as just additional voices usually
