Holy fuck, the guy was pretending to be in college in order to get a free house? AND lied about it to his parents? If this goes on trial, this guy's credibility is gone. Nobody likes liars, nobody will believe a word from someone who LIED TO THEIR OWN FAMILY. Once you're established to be a liar, your likelihood to get convicted (even falsely) goes way up. I've got little sympathy for Jason, even less for Kabier, but that guy isn't a good person, either. Why the fuck would anyone defend someone who is taking money out of their family and lying to them? Defending a fraud to own the furries?
And "I was abused, whaaaa" is never an explanation to being an asshole, much less an excuse. I've seen plenty of people who had rough lives with their families, but still behave like decent people. Being an asshole because someone is an asshole to you is just going to create more assholes in the world. I was in the same position in my life, I moved out of state to a place where my parents couldn't reach me, started my own life, made new friends, stopped being abused by anyone but myself.

A lot of kids lie about attending college. He has more reason to lie because he knows the consequences of his parents' anger, and doesn't want to deal with it, hence lying to keep it off his back for as long as possible. I don't know why he's not attending college. But until I do, I'm not going to assume the worst, based on how he sounds. Two, he was not being an asshole at any point in that audio file.

Three, being abused is an explanation for how timid he was acting around these abusive people, and explains why he feels fear around his parents. Some people cannot see a way out of their abusive situation even if it's staring them right in the face, because they're so used to being abused. We were taught this when dealing with victims and witnesses of sexual abuse, but it applies to all types of domestic violence/abuse. He mentioned that when his father got angry, his father would blow up. I bet what Kabier screamed upon him was half of what he's used to dealing with when it doesn't get physical.

This man isn't being helped like Kabier and Jason claimed they were doing, because Kabier became verbally abusive toward Bleakley in the past (based on what Bleakley said). They were using him. THEY are the assholes here. The only reason they are mad at him now is because he asked them to pay rent. Time had definitely passed since Bleakley "sexually assaulted" Kabier. They didn't go to the police then because they didn't have any reason to blackmail him. When he didn't comply and backtrack saying "OK, OK, you don't have to pay rent," they proceeded to ruin his life.

I deal with people who constantly criticize my line of work by saying things like "If I were that officer, I would have done this". My every action on trial. People do not know what we go through every day. They don't understand why we do the things we do. You don't know why he did the things he did, or what he went through. Therefor, you can't say what you would have done if you were him. Because you don't know his experiences. You could not know what you would have done in his situation. Because you don't know his situation. You only have your shit situation to compare it to. Which isn't saying much, because your experiences aren't universal.

Being stupid isn't a crime. Falsifying rape allegations is illegal. Slander/libel is illegal. Grooming minors. Involving minors in sexual content. Jigs/Kabs have done these things. Telling someone they're going to school when they're not is not illegal. Stupid, but not illegal. No one cares. That's not what's important here. I never said it wasn't stupid. I said that it's not something that will discredit him given his abused past. I'm able to relate to him, understanding why he lies to abusive parents (I had to do the same because of how bad it got). Therefor, I'm not holding it against him. I've seen people lie to their abusive parents so they don't have to be in pain at that moment. Sometimes it's okay to lie to avoid being abused. It's not okay to lie about going to college, but Bleakley could just not be going because of depression, but he knows that his parents might raise hell/start the abuse again if he tries to talk with them about it (depression is not an acceptable reason for not going to school in many households that don't understand just how bad depression affects you). This is all just assumption based on the audio clip, though.
Bleakley has way more credibility than these cretins.
