Close your browser, use CCLeaner to secure wipe your files (3 passes), wipe the free space using CCleaner's advanced options, and then use Eraser to 3 pass secure wipe the browser's appdata folder entirely.

(Oh, and don't fucking livestream it like the Killstream exceptional individuals.)

Still wouldn't save her. 4.4 doesn't put a distance limit on cancelling to go do an autograph signing elsewhere. She's in breach of multiple clauses.

The question is whether Kameha gives enough of a shit to do anything about it.

From what I understand a single pass is enough, with 3 passes being standard and anything beyond that being tech voodoo.

Oh yeah. If I bought a HDD off the internet? DBAN before I use that. That's kinda a no brainer. I'm not sure of the equivalent technique to use for SSDs, but I sure as shit would Google it before using it.

And if one of my friends genuinely came to me saying "Uh, I clicked a 4chan link I shouldn't have and um, what do I do?"

The answer would be: "Buy a cheap 1TB drive off of NewEgg, overnight it, move anything you want to keep to it, then DBAN your old drives and sell them online so some voice actress's brother will get arrested instead of you put holes in them and toss them in a lake somewhere. Leave your cellphone at home (location tracking sucks)."

A 195 mile jaunt would be too burdensome for everyone involved, especially to the "true" fans who already bought tickets and the ones that Monica's doing the alternate signings for. I'm just going to assume that the narwhal's going to use the brewery that Dave Trosko pointed out in his Twitter post.

I REALLY hope that they do and I REALLY hope that the fans/Ty convinces them to, especially after all the shit Monica and Sabat caused them to go through.

Eraser has US DOD as 7 passes, but a proper program doing 1-3 straight 0/1 bit overrights should be enough unless you've been hacking the pentagon. That being said if i had accidentally d/l CP then i'd do a 'Gutmann' 35 pass before taking a hammer and chisel to the drive.

I always suggest our customers take it to a shooting range.

But honestly, if you DOD Short it, it's pretty much done. Pretty sure the FBi has bigger fish to fry than trying to piece together a hard drive with a 5-second CP clip that's been shredded.

You can nuke SSD a lot of ways. Parted Magic using erase ought to do it. You could always chuck it in the micro for 10 seconds if you are super paranoid. (Don't breath those fumes.)

From what I know of guest contracts and convention booking... it's more likely that in this situation a convention runner would just let the guest out of their contract.

I know you're being hyperbolic, but please don't litter lakes with your tech hardware. There's nasty stuff in there sometimes.

Deleting and wiping the files a couple times should be enough. Yes, it's theoretically possible they could still find the file by using some DoD supertech, but they don't have the time or access to do that sort of stuff. They'll just move on to the next creep who wasn't as careful.

If you really feel the need to physically destroy the device or media, there are probably electronics recyclers in your area which will know how to do so safely.

Possibly because they don't want to deal with this shit anymore, and they let her out.

A wronged party doesn't HAVE to pursue remedy for a breach. A contract just gives them the option of doing so.

That's assuming they ARE letting her out.

There's no reason to believe that they did "let her", but their remedy is a legal one. They can't physically make her turn up - they can only seek damages if she doesn't.
