THE STATE OF THE THREAD
Again, this is amazing. Good job, happy jerking off, and thanks to all the exceptional people in #KickVic providing us content for us to laugh at.

:semperfidelis:
Never underestimate the power of anime, holy shit.

Also, despite all the exceptionalism, this hasn't just been to laugh at people. We are literally helping with the case. We probably won't be credited in any meaningful way (and I hope not; Ty doesn't need people seeing, say, @Archeopthryx avatar) but the archiving going on around here is just giving BHBH more and more ammo. Granted, KickVic is the one actually giving us the ammunition. I guess this thread makes use a bunch of magazine loaders, while KickVic hands us bullets to shoot them with. Ty just need to lock and load, and it's curtains.

ROFL! “He has a small ass 2 person firm in Tyler” ROFL! A small 2 person firm that has never tried a civil case? :lit:
I mean we know Shane’s an idiot, but this may be peak idiocy. BHBH is awash in oil and gas money. They are a fairly large broad discipline practice who’s specialty is in dealing with problems and services for Texas’s Rich and Powerful. Like I said back when we learned of them, if J R Ewing was real, BHBH would be his Lawyers. And yes they are a powerful and politically connected law firm in deep red Christian Conservative Texas. NRA is a resume builder.
When I think of Tyler I don't really think of Political connections since I thought DFW is where most of the Republican power is.

To be fair Shane did give Ty credit that he started with a small 2-person firm and expanded it to the 12ish law firm we have today. He's just wrong about everything else.
Not really, it was just a pisspoor (as usual) attempt at low key dissing him. Shane is transparent as fuck.

It's not that far from DFW. It's about halfway between Dallas and Shreeveport, and almost dead center in the Petroleum Triangle of DFW, Houston and West Louisiana. One of the H's in BHBH is State Senator Hughes. A fairly well known and powerful man in Regional Politics.

It is a bit like saying, "well, I guess I admire this guy for working at McDonalds after school when he was 16, and now he's the CEO of a Fortune 500 company."

Like, no shit Shane. Lots of people have upward mobility. You're the stupid fag that went from Ops Director at A-Kon to the owner of a far smaller shitty con nobody cares about. Think about that and cry.

And people have the nerve to make up crap about Rackets.

I lost a lot of quotes along the way because the speed of this thread goddamn.

VAs cancelling: In the 11-ish years I've been doing cons, only seen it twice. One was a family emergency, the other was renewed for a stage play tour which conflicted with the con. The latter did come back to the con the next year. I've seen an industry professional even go to a con after being diagnosed with aggressive nearly untreatable cancer just to have one last hurrah with their fans.
Things happen and generally cons want to play nice so that they might be able to get the VA back some other year assuming it is a legit reason to skip. Cancelling as a huge virtue signal on Twitter and holding an event doing the exact same thing a 5 minute Uber ride away using your event as advertisement is not a legit reason and KC should absolutely smash this pathetic side event with the fist of an angry C&D.

The Happy Science anime movies are quite the roller coaster. Like for the first hour, you are going "WTF am I watching, this is insane", but by the second hour, you're bored out of your goddamn mind to the point you can't even poke fun of anything on the screen anymore. Even with friends. Also I'm literally pissed that they gloss over the Reptilians, like that was the best part about the Aztec portion of the second(?) film was the "Surprise, motherfucker!" reveal of the Aztecs being Reptilians.

How these films get dubbed is well beyond me. Like I have no idea how someone like Yuri Lowenthal gets roped into it.
Laws of Eternity is fucking amazing and worth watching every minute of batshit crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if English VAs have no idea what they're dubbing because Happy Science doesn't have the same reach as other Japanese cults like Soka Gakkai and now defunct Aum Shinrikyo. Religion and what Japan calls "new religion" which can be anything from a philosophy to a cult is a very strange topic.

THE STATE OF THE THREAD

As interesting as that is, there's a definite quality vs. quantity consideration to be made, and while this thread has truly had some quality content, I wouldn't mind a little more discipline around stuff like stopping individual posts for each whalesong tweet or asking folks to take O/T stuff like the merits of Goblin Slayer to another thread.

Remember, these idiots are so immersed in soy that they think somehow in deep Texas, a judge is going to stop before even looking at the case itself, see "NRA" and immediately recoil in horror, shriek YIKES like a little girl, and throw out the case.

That's the insanity and stupifity. A big con is such a good payday that mid to lower tier guests duch as VA's will crawl from their deathbeds. Ive seen con guests have to cancel, but its typically stuff like apendicitis or child birth. Stuff that nobody gives thedm flak for. I forget who but I remember one guy having to cancel last minute because his wife went into labor a week early. I can't fathom what Rial is pulling. The having Todd Haberkorn kiCVked from a panel at another because she felt unsafe is similarly insanely stupid. She has no record of complaints or incidents wigh him. It cements her as "dificult" unreasonable and a fraud.

I hope and pray every day that avatar gets slipped into a slideshow going on in a courtroom.

NOTE: The Gamergate thread started in 2015 has only 79 pages. LOL.

Gamergate thread probably ended because the whole thing devolved from an expose on the incestuous nature of the games industry into an explosion of autistic lolcows: quinnspiracy, nero, spacekat, shoe0nhead, ralphretort, kotakuinaction etc etc. It was like a lolcow singularity.

Nevermind the fact that the event with Todd Haberkorn would be filmed and there probably would be other people right by her, whether they're guests or moderators and such.

The same thing with the Vic situation. Kameha Con has security from the Dallas police force, attendees with cameras and phone's and Vic's lawyers, from what I can tell. It's probably one of the safest conventions she would ever go to. Yet, she doesn't go because of "safety".

It undermines her ideas of what "harassment" and "safety" means if this isn't enough to be "safe". Like an SJW in a way.

Weren't there like 3 gamergate threads (with gamergate in the title)?

I've been with this thread since the very beginning, and the other thread before that (and all the posts in JesuOtaku's thread, which is where this whole sorted affair was first mentioned). The blue orca is a relatively recent development. This thread hit the ground running with some very good content, and it's been pulling hard since then. If she's not under 5-10% of the entire thread content, I'll be surprised.

I also don't think there's been a orca post in a while. People are doing their best to keep her spergery from derailing the thread, utilizing multiple methods. She's relevant to some degree as long as it concerns her defamation of Vic and her interference in Vic's case.

Basically... I disagree this is a major issue. The thread is a winner.
