I fucking hate that argument. If I said “women are whores” and then responded to rightfully upset people with “well if you’re not a whore, than you shouldn’t be offended”, I’d be a massive asshole. It’s just a pathetic way to deflect being called out on your shit.
They probably know that it's shit, too, because of the way they get always all smug when they say it. It's possible to state an honestly-held belief without being smug, but the way that they always get smug makes me think that it's more of a standard talking point that they think is an surefire argument-winner.

"When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're telling the world that you fear what he might say". Not taking criticism has always been a sour point for Dobson. Yet, he thinks it makes him look good, but it shows quite the contrary. The only thing Dobson's doing is making more people who despise him.
Plus Dobson’s so called “anxiety disorder” is what he claims often.
Not just art criticism too. His life choices, his way of thinking, his personality...the man simply refuses to accept any form of personal responsibility for anything.
Given that anxiety is commonly co-morbid with autism, it wouldn't actually surprise me that Dobson has it. It's completely unsurprising for autists to become anxious about dealing with others when they keep having people get mad at them and are unable to predict it or prevent it due to their lack of empathy and poor social skills. In fact, I'm pretty damn sure that his "PTSD" is just garden-variety autistic anxiety that he has misinterpreted. He found himself getting anxious about social interactions and went looking for someone else to blame because, of course, nothing is ever his fault. Conveniently for his bloated ego, some loser sprayed him with water once, so of course that must be it.
I still think that if Dobson was autistic, he’d have milked it for every pity point he could. He’s alre claimed to hav anxiety, PTSD, depression and Imposters Syndrome. And when asked if he was autistic, he said it was a rude thing to ask and that he wasn’t.
He's old enough that it's less likely that it even would have been considered as a possibility while he was growing up. It's also a possibility that a professional brought up the possibility of autism, but his parents denied that anything was wrong with their son and refused to have him tested for it. Given that he was also coddled growing up (and yet his brother seems to be OK), it seems to me that what happened is that at least one of his parents rationalized his early autistic behavior in some fashion and coddled him to compensate for it, coddling that his brother never got. It's quite likely that his brother always resented him for this, which would help explain their poor relations now (although admittedly there are tons of other reasons not to like or get along with him, this is Andrew Dobson after all).
I wouldn’t be suprised if Dobson had autism, I don’t know any other group of people who are so obsessed with video games, cartoons and children’s media in general.
