Well, based on the activities of last month, we might have a good idea of who could be gone after:
  • Funimation (since Ty said that they were going for an anti-SLAPP rebuttal to the lawsuit, and also saying that the Funimation “investigation” is part of discovery)
  • Rooster Teeth (since that’s also important for Vic’s career)
  • La Choy (since he said he received papers to not delete anything; whether he’s sued or summoned we will find out later)
  • Monica (since she said she’s not retracting)
  • Marchi (since I think she said she was also not retracting)
This would be with the combination of both the money in the GoFundMe, along with Vic’s own money. Remember, Vic didn’t ask for the GoFundMe. Vic retained his law firm since the beginning of February, so he’s probably contributing as well.

Ty also said that there would be different rounds of lawsuits, assuming that the first round is successful, hence Iago. Some of that money could be devoted to the next set of lawsuits. I would assume he’s going towards the people most responsible for Vic’s plight right now.

If they don't plead defamation at all, for whatever reason, then all of that would be completely irrelevant to tortious interference and other business torts.

Question for people who go to the anime cons - are the panels a big part of the appeal of attending the event or are they more of a side show? Just curious about what the impact of these panel cancellations would be in swaying a decision to attend or not.

Panels are always side thoughts for me, basically to fill in dead times while I wait for the next program I really want to see.

ETA: I go to one con a year.

If someone is big enough it's a large part. Let's just say I'm a big May'n fan and she cost me a hoard of shekels relative to my brokeness as a young new member of the work force.

It's tough to plead conspiracy right off the bat because you have to be very specific as to what statements and behaviors constituted the conspiracy. If you're already suing the people for something, though, and discovery turns up collusion between them, you can then amend to add the conspiracy counts and any defendants that brings into the fold.

And if you think the shit these absolute cretins say in public is stupid and self-incriminating, I can't wait to see what they're saying in their "private" messages when they think they're being sneaky.

If she's referring to the pic I think she is there's a bit she's leaving out. IIRC the tweet was from a girl who at the time she was hugged/given a peck on the cheek was underage. At the time she liked it. However, after getting "woke" she now feels terribad about it ergo Vics evil.

It's a side piece unless it's a VA hosting. I remember the one Greg Ayres hosted for Ghost Stories, now compare that to one I hosted, and its night and fucking day in attendance numbers. We had barely enough to fill the front two rows, while Greg had an overflow line formed outside the hall.
