EVS is still a sperg, though.
He spouts a lot of stupid shit quite frequently but still, it's hard not to side with him with the way so many blue checkmark assholes, comic book pros and that scumbag Rich Johnston often target him.

They also frequently try to portray him as some evil white supremacist while supressing the fact one of the most notable characters he has created is Jessica Cruz, a female mexican/latina Green Lantern.

Anyone have more information on the whole WC guy impersonating Heather Antos to slander CG creators thing? I saw it on Peter Simeti's timeline and saw a reply identifying the person who did it. This feels like crossing a line even for the fine individuals involved.

Here's the fake heather, and down below are some archive links to the tweets.

It's a bit frustrating to watch tbh. I get why EVS acts like he does, but when he lets the ego get to his head he starts losing me and gets very cringy to watch. If he could at least tard wrangle WC every so often I probably wouldn't be so frustrated.

It wouldn't surprise me, this guy kept trying to tie anti-cg spergs with registered sex offenders that share their names. I remember Yellow Trash doing it too to Fatty Doyle. They would word it like "Did you know that if you search the federal database you'll find so & so's name".

Although I also would take Rags' word with a big grain of salt, he had a falling out with CG because of the WC idiots. He was also massively salty YaBoi wouldn't review his book, so he started hanging out with Ren and gang, which helped tank his popularity within CG as a whole. Then the shady shit with the book started happening and he's been screeching ever since.

Same, but he absolutely refuses to take responsibility for them, which fair I guess, he shouldn't have to babysit adults. Hopefully they'll finally do something stupid enough that he'll either bail or tell them to fuck off

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand once again the stunning and brave warriors of wokeness find themselves utterly unable to not desperately search for any and all dirt on their enemies on the very lair of ultra-nazi filth and depravity they so loudly shriek about as being proof their foes are all subhuman monsters

He had a final day of the Kickstarter sperg out featuring screenshots from the thread, up to and including implying KF exists solely to torment him and him alone.

Wait? We’re not just here to torment him? Damit! You People Lied to Me Again!!

He managed to squeeze out a whole $5K out of it. #WINNING
Final result: $47,115 by 1,420 backers

All that coverage, and virtually no return. Amazing? You might almost think that nobody reads the “Mainstream Comic Press” anymore? At least nobody that isn’t busy trying to crowdfund a sandwich and bus fare home.

It’s also a possibility that people read (ok started at in horror. Eyes were involved...and injured!) his prior work. Black AF, with the cars with asymmetrical oblong wheels, and unidentifiable vaguely humanism figures, overlaid with random splashes of what I assumed to be house paint. The audience that worked there way through that and declared “damn! I gotta get me some more of this!” Is likely rather niche, penniless, and has no legal address to which to deliver the finished product. Unless it’s the state penitentiary.

So even though Kiwi Farms posts real proof and SJWs call it fake, an SJW just took something fake from Kiwi Farms and passed it off as "proof".

Irony just came all over itself, then blew its brains out.

Not surprisingly they not only take something from here, they take something clearly and openly labeled as fake. Because that’s how they roll. Truth is for losers and they’re winners.... “oh please won’t somebody crowdfund my bus fare.... I wanna go home....”

Just don't plug up your semicolon. (I'll show myself out now.)

In other EVS news, he's still getting yelled at by SJW's over the Tico and Captain Marvel toy cutting shit. Yeah it's kinda dumb, but you would swear he was committing actual crimes with the way they keep hammering at it. Jesus guys, they're toys that no one was going to buy anyway and there are far "worse" and over the top toy destruction videos to bitch about if you're that invested

Especailly when the Pablo Hidalgo's of the world joke about guillotining the rich.

Yeah, he's Star Wars and not CG, but if you're gonna take EVS at face value, how can you not do the same for ol' Pablo? And since Kathleen Kennedy, Alan Horn and Bob Iger are all by any reasonable definition of the term "rich," should they be, y'know, worried? ?

It's time to come to terms with your latent homosexuality and just buy that EVS body pillow you so cleary crave , Mike Miller's 'dinosaurs still walk the earth' theories hold more water then yours.
Having caught a couple of streams featuring C. McGee, I didn't detect any hint of duplicity or spergery from her. She came across as a very quiet, unassuming and ego free individual. She hasn't reappeared, I suspect, because she's one of those mute creators that have been driving EVS to despair lately with all the dead air they contribute to his streams.
She does however seem to have fallen afoul of JDA's never-ending sperg-out after politely asking him to remove her book from his indycron.com (LOL) faux comicsgate site and this is just the kind of petty gay op his crew of bitter nobodies pursue against their 'enemies' as they continue to circle the drain...

It really must really suck to be Jim Zub. Imagine having to take over Champions after Mark Waid made sure to shit it up, make all of the characters into somewhat likable people and overall succeeding in making most of the issues good, but Marvel made sure to drive away all the people that actually buy the books in favor of the Rainbow Mafia:
http://archive.fo/VtdAS
716361
Comic book writer Jim Zub took to Twitter Wednesday to complain about comics piracy, asking readers who enjoy books like his Champions, the fourth of issue of which went on sale to day, to support the book by actually paying for it, lest it not be around to “deliver on its potential.” In his Tweet, posted just before Noon Eastern, Zub claimed that thousands had already downloaded the just-released comic from piracy sites, though he did not name the sites in question (understandably). We’re not experts on piracy or anything, but we checked one popular torrent site, which saw two issues of the comic with a combined total of just under 200 seeders or leechers. A popular site that allows reading the comic in browsers didn’t list download numbers, but did show thirty-three comments on the issue. The hub page for the series, for which four issues are available, boasts of over 100,000 pageviews.

Zub went on to note that, while Champions is “not in cancellation territory yet,” “industry-wide monthly sales aren’t good right now. It’s a problem.” Comichronestimates direct market single-issue sales of February’s issue of Champions at over 18,000 copies. The series was ranked #92 in unit sales in Diamond’s top 100 comics. It’s unclear exactly how much money piracy costs the comic book industry each year, as those statistics are not available. The U.S. TV and Film industry is estimated to be worth $830 billion by 2022 by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, while Digital TV Research projects that piracy will cost those industries $52 billion that year, or 15% of revenue. If those percentages are similar for comics, downloads numbering in the thousands for a comic like Champions would be expected. A 2016 study of Japan’s Manga industry by Tatsuo Tanaka for the Institute for Economic Studies at Keio University in Japan found that piracy hurts the sales of ongoing comics, though it can boost the sales of collected editions of completed comics by generating interest.

Zub offered some alternatives for readers who don’t buy print single issues, including purchasing the comic digitally or pre-ordering the trade paperback, which is due to hit stores in July. That comic can be pre-ordered from your local comic shop, or from bookstores or online retailers like Amazon. For readers who might reasonably balk at the high price of single-issue comics, with single issues that usually comprise one-fifth of a complete story that will later be collected in trade paperback usually priced at $3.99, pre-order services like DCBS can cut costs by as much as 40 or 50 percent. Additionally, Marvel Unlimited subscribers will be able to read the issue when it’s released on that service, which usually happens about six months after they’re originally released for sale. In the meantime, you can read thousands of classic comics on that binge-reading service.

Here’s this reporter’s humble take on piracy in comics, to which your mileage may vary. Despite the best efforts of the collective entertainment industry, piracy has continued to grow year after year across all media, and no one has yet offered a solution to prevent it. However, general wisdom does suggest that making entertainment affordable and convenient to consume can at least allow content producers to make the best of the situation. Digital streaming (or reading) services that offer a monthly subscription are a successful model in doing that, which is why everyone and their grandmother has launched a streaming service these days.

The comic book industry’s digital efforts, in general, have been hampered by fears of upsetting retailers in the direct market distribution system on which the industry relies for most of its sales. For that reason, it was several years after the advent of digital comics before digital versions were even released the same day as physical comics, and the price for new releases remains the same as a physical copy, despite the lower distribution costs. Of course, other industries such as the music industry, which began battling digital piracy back in the 1990s, suffered from similar growing pains before adapting to modern technologies, and delays in addressing consumer concerns allowed piracy to gain a greater foothold than it might have if digital music were sold DRM-free through a well-designed interface sooner.

Should people pirate comics? As a general rule, of course, the answer is no. But will people steal comics anyway? The answer there will probably always be yes, and it’s unlikely that anyone who does so has not already considered the moral compunctions of it. Therefore, the best way to combat it is to make legitimately purchased products more attractive to consumers. Zub’s approach combines offering alternatives for legitimate consumption with an emotional appeal.

Check out Zub’s appeal below:
If you love this series/these characters, please consider paying for it, otherwise we won't be around long enough to deliver on its potential.
That's the simple truth.
We're not in cancellation territory yet, but industry wide monthly sales aren't good right now. It's a problem

Introducing IndyCron
Posted on January 24, 2019

Back on July 30, 2018, I unveiled IndieChron, crowdfund tracking of independent comics from my site here meant to highlight indie books and show how much of a dent they’re making in the industry from their successes.
The point was this: we would promote indie books, have a good spot for people to find links and be able to surf and find books they want as a kind of news aggregator.

It was a spreadsheet, I was updating by hand with Edwin Boyette, and while it served its purpose, it was ultimately taken by a twitterite named PixelTraitor who made a much better site out of it and so I let them do that.

The purpose was always support indie comics. It was always “whoever asks to be on, can be on”. Those was always our plan as, in July, my group I was involved with was very inclusive and wanted everyone who makes and loves comics to be a part. It was a true indie revolution for the positive.

That changed over the last month as this group got taken over by alt-left internet trolls who form harassment mobs to try to harm different creators of all stripes. The site that I allowed to take over from my spreadsheet began gatekeeping books off over personal politics between creators — the antithesis of what my movement and indycron were supposed to be about.

So I sent forth with a great guy Joey D (the programmer of IndyCron) to provide what it was always intended to be: a hostpot for news for indie comics. We’re upgrading the way it’s looked at with a focus now on promotion of indie works. We want it very clear and easy to read, something folk can find any book they choose and click on the books.

The best part is we don’t only track IndieGoGo, a site with about 1/100th the amount of indie comics that Kickstarter has — but we have the main kickstarter site as well. This helps us fully get the scope of what’s out there on the market. I’m also using a news feed to talk about comics the come out through other means and even have a pull list for indie comics in the comic shop.

It’s a TON of work. Just adding these and doing the blog and sourcing news weekly is going to be a chore. I don’t get paid from it, I’m paying for the hosting and site. This is all to help indie creators and readers have a very organized site where they can peruse and find projects they want to support.
Comics on the site don’t necessarily have my endorsement, as that’s not the purpose. This is a news website like anything else. If, say, Ethan Van Sciver puts up a book, I will list it. If Gail Simone puts up a creator owned book, I will list it. We at IndyCron will not discriminate as that’s not our job or roll here, just to promote indie comics.
Anyway, the site is here, so check it out.

And if you like what I’m providing and do want to support, please just check out my book, Flying Sparks: Meta-Man Special which I released directly to Amazon. Silver Age-style fun, $4.99. An affordable and available indie comic like everyone asked for.

Yeah it sucks, but people want free shit no matter what price the actual thing was and there's not much you can do about it. Guess he'll just have to take solace in the fact that most of them were never gonna pay for it anyway, so he didn't actually lose out on those particular sales. And maybe some of those guys will probably buy a floppy. It really is a shame because he seems like a nice guy.

He handed the site over to Mcghee because he knew she would DFE and he could wash his hands of it. Flying Sparks was already a successful project and he got his money back from what he spent making it with enough left over to fund the second volume.
Mcghee, like Anger Mike and others don't realize their art is awful and their stories suck so they resort to Nasser Rabadi tactics.
An easier way to fund a comic would be to get a job, save some money and pay for it like JDA did with flying sparks. Way too much work for these idiots.

I saw somebody complaining about this for some mobile game they were giving away for free. His company investigated it and it turns out a lot of people are just flat out more used to going to pirate sites rather than Google Play or similar.
