Y'know, places like Funimation and Crunchyroll think they're hot shit because of their streaming services, but I remember 4KIDS being kind of ahead of the curve when it came to streaming. Thing was, they were just really shitty with money and were rather out-of-touch by not making available the uncut subs for premium users. Had they done that instead of cowering in the corner whenever the FCC looked at them funny, I think they could've survived losing Pokémon and (potentially, if they were smart about their money) Yu-Gi-Oh.

Not to go too off topic, but does everyone remember those days in high school when the anime club or whomever wanted to make their own manga? I sure do. I remember when everyone in that crowd was so damn passionate and wanted to do something with that inspiration. I know that my experience doesn't really correllate with anyone else's, but those guys had a lot more affinity than the people who did anime art solely (seriously, fuck those guys, they were the most entitled and yet ungrateful of their talents), in my case, and they weren't spergy weeaboos with a cultural cringe complex. They combined and balanced wanting to draw and write, and actually putting depth behind the flash. I remember thinking that "yeah man, this is the shit, one day there's gonna be artists of this stuff and writers too in the future, watch out world, we're riding high here" when I saw that group of peers drawing their stuff. Wish I hung out with them more, but they had different lunch periods and were a grade lower than me. Never shared any classes either.
Nowadays, Tokyopop proved to be the bane of that, Crunchyroll proved to be liars who never pay anime creators overseas anything and proved to be the bane of anime production in the states, and SJWs have invaded the voice acting industry, and have already blighted and killed Funimation. Oh and for something to wrap my little reminiscing about, all of them aforementioned looked at the work effort they needed to do to actually make it and cowered out by the time they got their diplomas. Pathetic.
