It’s even better than that: It wasn’t even Taylor that the lawyer was speaking on behalf of at the time. If I’m remembering the correct thing, Skordas said that her FAMILY had found his gifts and attempts to communicate with Taylor through them “invasive and troubling.” Which was an opinion, not stated as fact, and therefore not in anyway “defamation” or “slander”.

Unfortunately, this is an example of another thing you should not do when dealing with a stalker. Not only should the victim not have any contact with the stalker, but the PEOPLE AROUND THEM should not try to appeal the stalker to stop, threaten them, or retaliate to provocation. They can protect the person's information, put themselves between them and the stalker (figuratively like Swift's lawyers dealing with the lawsuit or literally as in security putting themselves between Russ and the victim) or ban them from places (if they have the power). But the police should be the only ones who actually confront the stalker about their behavior.

Russ, being a batshit insane stalker, was only fueled by Skorda's email.
