just another thing. the original voice of vegeta is going to kamehacon. you cannot tell me that this is all coincidence at this point.

I imagine a scenario where Toei is basically clueless as to what's going on, but realizes SOMETHING is going on, and it isn't good, and basically says who the fuck do we know who can figure out what's going on?

Literally, original Voice of Vegeta is their spy in that scenario.

Have we already covered this?

Looks like Sabat cancelled his tour but didn't tell the con-runners or the staff. And the "recording session" answer given for it on the 12th was just a cover story.
They're in full panic.

Interesting... interesting.

Here's another name I'm starting to remember now that I'm thinking about all this...

Sokora Refugees.

Didn't some Tokyopop exec basically give his girlfriend or daughter or somesuch a free win at some Tokyopop contest that lead to the thing being published professionally... Only to have it flash and burn and then die out like, immediately? Maybe that's what I'm getting mixed up with Megatokyo in my head.

Futaba-kun Change! I actually rather enjoyed it, but it was silly fanservice and I enjoy silly fanservice.

The truth of Sokora Refugees is actually better than the speculation.

Its writer pulled a C.B. Cebluski years before C.B. was ousted. Kurt "Segamu" Hassler was the writer, and not only was he the writer, but he was the buyer for Borders and Waldenbooks, his series of which he bought to rank up the Nielsen Ratings watch. Tokyopop helped publish the paperbacks. It's one thing to be a writer, but to invoke conflict of interest and manipulate public interest as a writer and industry professional, that's something else. A lot of reviews say it's quirky anime fun with fanservice. Too bad he ruined his series with politics and insider trading. Plus, considering that he was in a major seat at Borders, this reeks of corporate shiftiness like the Enron scandal.

he's going to audit the fuck out of funimations bullshit with all this.
even if they were unaware, there is no way they won't hear now. and remember.

rumor has it, toei handpicked vic. and funimation did him dirty. wonder who they're gonna side with. skankial and her butt buddies or christian mick.
It's possible that Toei will simply rehire the Ocean Group actors

If the "shamefur disprey" happening on the 15th is miraculously in fact Toei pulling their IPs, FUNimation will probably go under.
Would that mean we can put FUNimation on the kiwi farms kill list? That would be beyond amazing if we contributed to killing an entire company.
I know it's too good to be true, but I want to believe

All they had to do was show up at the con. They would make money, get exposure, and damage Nick's credibility a bit.

But they can't even do that. And Nick is flabbergasted :story:

It's just amazing. These people talk about having attorneys and shit when their actions say otherwise. They just keep feeding Ty and Nick info.

For example, look back at February. How do you say shit like "I've screenshoted this tweet and sent it to my attorney and law enforcement. I will not be harassed. Blah blah Blah.", and then a week later write a message on the internet that is basically you admitting to civil conspiracy for the whole world to see?

How? Fucking how?

I don't think my body would be able to handle that hilarity if it happened.

Life comes at you fast

I wonder if there was rumblings that with Toei Exec Relative leaving Funimation that the DB license wasn't going to be with Funi much longer anyway, and then some manner of gay ops were concocted to try to paint themselves as some manner of victims to keep Toei from bailing on them?

I agree with this in general, but let's look at this. That Toei is just pissed about their restrictive licensing, that they're notorious for, is still absolutely fucked for Sabat. That's the absolute BEST CASE scenario for the bad guys.

All these idiots had to do was not breach their contracts. But they did THIS instead.

And even in the absolute best case scenario for them, they're seriously fucked. They just got butt fucked in public. And that's the best case scenario. If it isn't the best case scenario, they're even more deeply fucked.

This is just speculation on my part, but I almost get the feeling that we may be looking at a more hybrid scenario here. One that only tangentially involves Vic. Toei might have dropped the hammer on Sabat's "Prince of All Saiyan's" marketing, forcing KC to change to "Okratron Studio Tour" (or whatever the fuck Sabats stupid setup is called) triggering Sabat to throw a tantrum and take his ball and go home. That seems in character for all the players on the field.

Now if Toei is REALLY pissed about all the VA antics, I could imagine a Toei rep (they send plainclothes dweebs into cons looking for unlicensed merch) wandering over to get his Monica Rial signature... on his unlicensed gay porn Goku/Brolly dojinshi.
