I think the only other English language Broly was for the dogshit/great speedy dub. I remember as a young un they showed the speedy dub movies on CNX/Toonami over here in the UK.

EDIT: It wasn't the speedy dub it was the "big green" dub.

Way back when All in the Family was big on TV, there was an episode where Meathead was up for promotion to his lifetime dream job, but lost out to a black guy because Affirmative action was the current cause de'celeb. Rather than freak out, he sat there alone after his boss left, talking to himself about how good and right it was that he got fucked over.

I wouldn't bet on these people learning a damn thing. They will just blame Superhomosogynistictransislamophobia and keep on keepin' on.

I'd make the argument that Japan hasn't been infiltrated by those types, period.

It's why all localized anime hasn't turned into High Guardian Spice. The source material is conservative, and if you want to keep a faithful translation you keep the conservative themes.

Ok I think ShortRound might have intended for his patch to get taken down because he did at one point have a Broly's Bible Study Sticker on his shop, but it mysteriously disappeared one day. So I'm not saying he made the Bulma Patch knowing it would get taken down but.. it's a possibility.

Well I for one can't wait for the skeletons to come shambling out of Sabat's closet. Rackets heavily implied that Sabat done goofed and it would be expected of him to go to full damage control mode if he ever hears that rant. Then again most of the clowns in this particular circus have long since abandoned common sense and self preservation. They just keep digging deeper into their own graves and it's really interesting to watch.

Mildly off-topic but highly relevant to SJWs. Needless to say, Meathead's politics were the closest thing to Norman Lear's own politics in the show, and Archie Bunker was initially intended as an antagonist. However, audiences loved Archie Bunker. At his core, he's a fundamentally decent person even if you don't share his opinions. Rather than SJW out, they ran with it and ended up with one of the best TV shows ever made.

Other fun fact: the only (common) racial/ethnic/sexual slur Archie Bunker never used was "nigger." That was a bridge too far. However, George Jefferson said it.

From what I've seen, there has been a slow but steady march of 'mellowing' in everything from boob size to the basic concepts of the Hero's journey. I bailed on Anime around 2006-7 for the most part but where outside of Hentai is the current "Divergence Eve/Misaki Chronicles?"

Back when Newtype was still a thing, by the end of publication you could alrady see which way the wind was blowing with various editors adapting pink hair and it being reflected in their commentary... and the then current stateside releases.

They probably didn't consider it piracy. That this was copyright/trademark infringement never occurred to them, even though Toei is involved and is hyper-aggressive about policing its properties, which these drooling dumbasses should have known just from the TFS disputes.

They just think they're bulletproof and can do whatever they want and laws just don't apply to them. Ty Beard is going to teach them that this is not the case.

1. Major exposure and $$$

If Toei really does know about all of this, Sabat leaving the panel will be VERY noticeable and Ryo will have a first experience of Sabat sperging out and will probably report this back to Toei if they've asked him to be their eyes and ears at the con

Toei will have their actual people at the Con. Don’t think of Ryo as some sort of spy or auditor. Toei has actual staff who walk the cons and report back. All the major players or IP owners do. Now what would be more interesting and telling is if Sony has people walking the Con.

I think that that might be a career upgrade for some of the players we’ve seen. I mean Marzgurl’s only apparent job skill was to be a lab animal for medical experiments.
