It's too late. Monday approaches. The only way they can get it calmed down now is to negotiate, or pray for a TCPA dismissal.

Once the suit gets rolling, this will draaaaaaaaaaaaag.

Negotiate? Sony? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH The bastards thought they could get away with saying 4 TFLOPS was more than 6 via half maths.

Wait, if Toei pulled Ryo out because it's a Dragonball convention and their IPs and such. Why aren't they going after the convention as a whole?
You would think they would do more than just pull Ryo, like send a cease and desist or something

That's a death sentence for your PR and public standing if you fuck with unofficial social fandom stuff. You actively target your fanbase indiscriminately, game over. Japan doesn't mind cosplay or convention gathering, or small time doujinshi sales mainly due to this. They know that cosplay and doujinshi is a legal gray area with their social considerations, and conventions demand the money and organization work for public spaces to successfully pull off. Plus, no matter where in the world, no one likes the idea of The Man telling everyone how and when to have fun.

Plus, if they try doing this with the US, that's one hell of a legal net with its red tape lining all over, and I couldn't imagine the social international fiascos this would ripple if they tried.

Yeah, Bandai isn't a thing in the states, and as much as i'd like VIZ logo's all over, idk about giving them a monopoly. Aniplex will scalp everyone because...maybe Pioneer can get rights back and restart Geneon, but that's unlikely. I don't trust Sony 1 fucking bit as this shitshow started once they'd effectively nullified Gen, issues with FUNi's previous work aside. Sentai? Stay far the fuck away from Disney/FOX and/or Paramount/CBS, Anchor Bay doesn't know what to do WITH people holding their hands..............

Go check out Bandai of America. American subsidiary of Bandai Namco.

Sabat is fucking toast, and this is regardless of anything that happens in the actual lawsuit. He's finished.

The only hope I see for him is trying to try mining the SJW filled Austin music scene of fellow travelers... and then he runs smack dab into the DIY/home studio problem. Hell I have 16 tracks of analog input in the same rack that houses my gaming computer and I just fuck around with audio so most serious amateur bands are probably set up with Pro tools and a full Waves VST folder on their laptop. And one of them knows how to use it.

Jesus Christ. I was thinking that the worst we would see were lawsuits filed Monday. Was not expecting Toei to essentially Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru Kamehacon/Funi. I thought a slightly drunk Nick was just speculating last night to keep us entertained. But holy fuck. I have to stop doubting Drexelface Lawyer. He's a damned lawyer. Of course he'll talk in hypotheticals unless he has something notarized and triple checked for sources.

On the flipside, Kamehacon got him back with no hard feelings. It was the 6+ Funi VAs who are in breach now.

Power of the Nazi asscrack.

FUNi/Sabat-Schemmel-Rial: Na na na na nuh nuh! Toei:

Who needs Sabat? Nobody. He's a worm. He thinks he's much more important than he is but his only importance was parasitically attaching himself to Toei/Funimation and if they're done with him, he is just a turd someone stepped on.

Otaku culture is the lifeblood of fandoms and following in glorious Nippon.

Look no further than the Core Values of DoA6's spokespersons and how Wiz bitched out like a cuck with something that makes up a good interest of the FGC, leading to a fiasco.

He really is a nobody worm that became more known because of meme culture around cringe dialogue, and not so much solid talent and performances.

He's been milking it for years, now the shit catches up to him.

Yeah pulling him for it being a DB themed con doesn't make sense, he was a guest at the first one last year.

They've either pulled him because they plan on doing some dick waving over the next few days in regards to the clusterfuck Funimation is neck deep in or they're worried Ryo will catch something going to a con thats so beta.

I think it's more they don't want Ryo at an unaffiliated event calling itself a Dragonball convention, with artists selling unlicensed merch, the tour that was banking off of their name, and so on. Since they waited so long to pull him, I'm guessing the current drama has them angry enough that they're done dealing with any shit.
i'm going to dispel this myth that japanese companies hate unofficial merch. no. they do not. absolutely do they not. there are cons in japan where unofficial artists sell doujins all the time. the reason unofficial merch gets omaira mo shinderu'd? artists that tried to claim their art was 100% theirs, characters and all. like, for example, a certain shortround playing both sides.

Shane is stupid but he isn't that viciously stupid. It's Ren or someone equally vile and subhuman.
What's the saying? Never attribute to malice what you could attribute to stupidity?

Maybe... maybe Wolves only appears to have Renfamous levels of vileness but we're just witnessing the meltdown of a poor, shoebegotten man.

Considering how big a VA he is to Japan it could be one or the other.......or both.

I can't remember if it was Sean or Sabat, but one of the Anime Outsiders mentioned that one of the two was literally a underemployed tuba player before Funimation hired them.

That would be Sean Schemmel.

In fact, Sean displayed his tuba skills in his "promo" for his match against Sabat in Dragon Ball FighterZ at last year's Kameha Con
