1. Funimation kicked their handpicked VA and publicly stated why (harassment)
2. attempted to harass a con into dropping their handpicked VA
3. their employees (contractors if we want to play their rules) harassed vic publicly and defamed him publicly.
4. they punished a con for honoring its contract.
5. they used Toei IP for unofficial events/merch
6. they used their positions to harrass cons
7. they publicly defamed thousands of people

Toei has ample reason to hate. Toei legally has no reason to hold back. Toei has no history of doing so. Toei is going to old yeller funimation.

Technically Bandai has a piece of, and a say in, just about everything in the anime industry. To an extent that would not be allowed under US Antitrust Laws. They own 30-40% of Toei, most of Tsubaraya, and Sunrise is a wholly owned subsidiary these days. But no they aren’t getting involved in Funimation shit. So long as nobody fucks with their Asian toy licenses. (Note Bandai America, which has a Dragonball license in the US, and just lost the Power Rangers license, is not in any way connected to Bandai (Japan). Bandai (Japan) is only recently making their own push into North America under their Tamashii Nations branding.)

I remembered saying that earlier on this fiasco that Kamehacon was likely pulling a smart move with their pacifism. And I will stick by that.

Honestly, I'm indifferent about Kamehacon. I like Dragon Ball, but I'm not the biggest uber fan enough to want to head out to a DBZ centered convention for three days straight.

But what interests me more is the powerplay going on with Sabat and Toei. Sabat "mysteriously" cancels out of his appearance, and Toei catches wind of assholes deliberately using assets without permission to promote selfish petty as fuck social politics with profit, then gets Horikawa to stay far, far away from this shit.

I can honestly say that if I was Toei, I too would pull out my voice actor for overseas publicity away from this hotbed of culture war bullshit and make everyone out in their land sort this shit out on their own as well. And in my perspective, this is a test of face and honor by Toei, as the topic goes on. If Kamehacon begs Rial and friends back (a chance highly, highly unlikely), it's game over. If they just stay put and let all of the SJW spergs get the fuck out to their shoddy hole in the wall virtue signal fest, and not mess with them at all in official capacity, they win (what will happen).

Kamehacon may very likely lose out on money, but that's a consequence of what KickVic and all of its forces are doing. And extending this into the US anime and manga industry, I don't feel bad about this.

This world of anime and manga publication and localization is just as wild as it was 20 years ago. Instead of shitty publishers, we have social bullshit diseased assholes trying to run the translation, and their convention festering bottomfeeders supporting them. Instead of a voice actress going topless and wildly carousing at the cosplay masquerade, we have virtue signaling voice actors tempting fate by holding a "signing" an hour away with city traffic at a hole in the wall all the way across town and going back on their contracts.

As I learned last night, the world of anime and manga is an extreme environment where only the fittest and morally outstanding survive. I don't feel bad now that the US doesn't have its own capacity yet to create its own anime and manga industry and community, let alone a consistently thriving importing, dubbing, localizing, and production industry. It's not the end of the world though; Weeb Wars is only one side of the world. And it needs its battlefields to burn and be trampled upon. Let the world catch fire. It will inspire someone. It sure inspired me.

DC, MARVEL, Dark Horse, MAD, Image, I could go on. Manga is just their form of out comics. Yes there's major differences too, but it's the closest thing.

I think it's more they don't want Ryo at an unaffiliated event calling itself a Dragonball convention, with artists selling unlicensed merch, the tour that was banking off of their name, and so on. Since they waited so long to pull him, I'm guessing the current drama has them angry enough that they're done dealing with any shit.

I had messaged with TUG back when his channel was young about the lengths that these animals would go. CPS was included in that discussion. I don't think he truly grasped the seriousness of what I was saying. Thats not to slight him in any way. Few people DO understand that they are not dealing with humans. Bandai America has nothing to do with Bandai Japan/Bandai Nampo. They were a 1980’s toy importer that started out licensing and importing Bandai/Popy made toys in the 80’s, and registered the name so they would not have to do as much repackaging. Their relationships with actual Bandai have mostly soured recently. With the loss of their largest license, Power Rangers their death is on the horizon. The North American Dragonball toy license is all they have left.
