Isn't FUNi releasing though? Admittedly I did forget Universal IS the old Geneon(Pioneer), but I still don't trust the hireups there. On the other side, we might get 4K's outta them, or Viz.

IMO, they didn't JUST shit the floor, the painted the entire room, and all to try to copy MARVEL. And UNIVERSAL had the original mashup theme strong with the classic monsters. Ah Bella Lugossi, Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone.....I watched too much TCM back in the day.

Bandai America has nothing to do with Bandai Japan/Bandai Nampo. They were a 1980’s toy importer that started out licensing and importing Bandai/Popy made toys in the 80’s, and registered the name so they would not have to do as much repackaging. Their relationships with actual Bandai have mostly soured recently. With the loss of their largest license, Power Rangers their death is on the horizon. The North American toy license is all they have left.

iirc there's also been two different "Bandai" video companies in the USA, one the guys that grew out of animevillage dot com, the other ones the guys who did those fancy Patlabor movie dvd releases with the storyboards ?

I still believe Vic deserves justice, but I believe an even worse monster has been exposed and I want them to suffer all the pains the legal system of this world and the next for their crimes.

They are guilty of such horrific abuse and torture of the innocent and defenseless their evil has chartered a new annal in the depths of depravity. Their obliviousness to their own desecration of morality and decency only makes it worse.

to be fair, I never was familiar with the original monsters universe, but i did think the mummy they released was shit. however, that's trend chasing and that's forgivable. it's what hollywood is known for.

I think if Sabat is on the losing end of legal trouble Toei will kill that dub. He's too involved with the day-to-day to just remove him and it's not like the other actors aren't speds. Dragon Ball fan autists will REEEEE about a complete recast, but it's happened before.

Toei can release DB themselves. They've had an office in Commiefornia for 15 years. They dubbed and released the new Digimon movies. The only reason they don't do everything themselves is because their US operations are small. They had to contract out the DVD manufacturing of those Digimon movies to Shout Factory. The dub (which Mignogna was in) was recorded by a studio in LA. They don't even need to burn all bridges with Funimation. Just change dubbing studios out of Texas. Maybe go back to the leafs since Sabat's autism reaches LA. Schemmel lives there and will probably drop an IRL threat to whoever voices Goku next.

American autism convinced Konami and Nintendo to dub Yugioh and Pokemon themselves. If there was ever a chance for Toei to bulk up their US business, now would be it.
