Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Some people thought his wife-related shit is funny (and horrifying), I think he's boring, and I hope his faggot ass doesn't come back.

If you pay any attention to what this unfathomably stupid moron says about any issue relevant to the thread, you'll know less after you're done reading his nonsense than you knew already.

Dammit Null, what are you thinking? Now all the shit is going to be split up and confusing instead of having it easy to find. It was fine in community watch. :dienull:

Because of Shane's shitflinging nature, @emspex likely asked @Null to quarantine us off.

I don't see the difference this will cause as long as links don't/won't break because we've been smart to archive.

Depending on what information you want to find, having multiple threads about different people/groups/events will make it easier to find. Multiple people have expressed frustration with how bloated and fast moving this thread is now. A subforum will help with organization.

I'd say just one thread for the orca and shoe boy and whoever else attention whores it up enough would have done it. No individual threads, just a megathread for speds.

It was just his usual idiocy where he still thinks if the kickvic morons come up with one person to say they saw him touch a butt or whatever, the case instantly gets thrown out without a trial.
I was 20 pages behind and he left the thread before i replied, but i found this exchange with you to be one of the funniest responses he provided.

But everyone is completely thrilled to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for their day in court, Shane says so himself!
Seriously tens of thousands? What kind of lawyers are you hiring? You are so getting ripped off.

Well at least the icon is fitting.

Hate to be his family if he gets dragged into all this, I mean he thinks lawyers only cost a couple thousand dollars so he will get what he pays for.

Actually a good question so it is worth an answer. The problem comes in with assuming one person makes one allegation and that is it. Of course that is going to be called into question by everyone.
In this situation it was not one person randomly out of the blue making an allegation. It was someone like 10 years ago making one. And then in another part of the country someone else. Then someone else. Always about the same person. And this went on for years. YEARS. Even when some cons banned/blacklisted him for things, other cons kept bringing him cause money. Then people forget. People who don't remember or were not around for the days when there were websites dedicated to nothing but those people with bad experiences. So over the course of years there is stuff everyone knows is going on, but just don't have quite enough proof to do anything about it. Or are scared to say anything as they would be the only ones. So it gets pushed aside and ignored. Money right? It didn't happen at "their" show so no reason to worry about what happened at someone elses. Eventually enough stuff all came out at once way before Monica, Funi, and others got involved that it ended up being a situation of "Hey this is bad, we have known this, lets drop him". Then the next con who knew said "Look they are doing it we can finally do it too". Then the next, and next, and eventually there was so much public support to do it a domino effect occurred. Then of course came along statements from famous VAs, kickvick crews, and others which sort of muddied the waters. But at the end of the day the problem is what everyone knew but never told anyone. Cause how can a guy with his name in forums still today about sexual harassment, bad jokes in the booth about consent, and all these accusations be going strong and no one knows? Well cause people decided not to tell you. And you hear about it all at once and of course are in shock cause wtf just happened.

Only it is still happening cause they are still not telling you what they should. If it doesn't hit their pocket why should they get involved?

So someone asked what my end goal was earlier and this is it. People don't have to be pedophiles or rapists to do something wrong. Not everything is such an extreme. Heck in a life everyone rubs someone the wrong way at some point. You figure it out, correct it and move on. But in this situation, even though he already admitted that he may have done something that made someone uncomfortable, and that was fucking good enough for me, then all this twitter shit started and everyone trying to prove he was like Jesus and without any sins. For gods sake he is just a man who may have screwed up. he said he may have, apologized, lets fucking move on already. But people cant let it go. There are so caught up on both sides to making this some rally cry for a fight against a cultural movement, they all take for granted this man who dedicated his life to anime and the industry who is now being used by both sides for nothing but cheap points.

Vic is not the only person who has done inappropriate shit. He was just the one who got called out, didn't listen and kept doing it. So shit got bad for him. And right after he apologized and admitted there were things he needed to fix, people on both sides hijacked the conversation because of some cultural war they wanted to fight.

He could have had an actual comeback starting months ago people too many people on both sides decided he was nothing more than a pawn in whatever game they were playing.

Vic did some stuff he shouldn't have. Doesn't mean he is a predator, or a pedophile. He just did some inappropriate things. Everyone does. He admitted it, and said he was fixing it. Good enough, take his fucking word for it and move on.
But too many people have to hijack to make a buck. Cause outrage sells subscribers.
Interesting...
Close to 1000 pages. Quite the gang bang.
What is the initial "error?"

In face/name recognition news, I've updated the current list we have of the Atencio-Cooper family and friends, now that we have the identity of the brother in the affirmative.

With that clarified,
Let's meet the Atencio-Cooper Family & Friend(s)!

(edited for formatting and family titles, added a affirmative picture of Andrew)

Do we know for certain there isn't a brother or sister we missed?

Also, found a later picture of Andrew:

@AnOminous, I didn't think it was possible for Andrew to get any gayer, but hoooooooooooooly, he went full Games Journo.

I think the forum will be especially useful once the lawsuits drop so we can have a seperate thread on any updates to the suit. I can't believe we're almost at 1000 pages already and that would probably double if we were posting and discussing every aspect of the proceedings as well as the general culture war updates.

This thread has been growing way too fast as it is. If you’re gone for a day, you have almost 25+ pages to catch up on with the average info on those pages being reactionary responses. And if it’s ever anything ever noticeably informative you’d have 45+ pages to catch up on.
It gets ridiculous after a certain point. A subforum directed at user speculations would probably help.

Looks like its the whales sisters mothers IG. Also looks like the family aren't hurting financially. Huh it looks like the whale took its hair color inspiration from it's graduation gown. Makes me wonder what mommy dearest would think if she knew what her little bundle of lard was spending her time doing other than running her ass around the block and trying to find gainful employment.

Yeah, sounds good, but which thread would be for what? Some better differentiation between this thread and the one Null just started would be good.

Don't fucking blame me for shit.

The problem is that there are several people who are cows of a certain extent and they are intermingled with weeb wars to some extent. Weeb wars is a significant common thread they share and is currently the prevailing factor motivating their cowish behavior. This is similar to the rat king in that these people have been assoicated in the past, but the vic mignogna incident and everything since has been a critical incident which has galvanized these people to create a weird community of sorts between them. I expect the bonds between them to become increasingly strong over time, and that even after weeb wars passes, like gamergate, they will share these bonds.

I think if you make a board for this you'll get a Greer effect
Where the people who read it want one, continuous thread instead of segregated updates.

I don't think that's the case
I've had multiple people ask me if its possible for this to have a subforum
every day people comment that its impossible for them to keep up with the thread now
they want more organization

It's not the sister, it's the mother's instagram. The pfp is a overfiltered mess.

Refer to my color commentary for face-to-name knowledge of the family brood.

Who knows?

Called it.

Let's all just keep using this thread to annoy @emspex

Seriously though i think a speculation thread would be good, maybe a Rekieta update thread (or livestreamers thread?) I know Rackets has already got his own in multimedia, but this would be just for specific WW shows. Good for cutting out the multi posts on the same line of dialouge / idea and people could live discuss what points he brings up.

I'll buy that if it means discussion won't be getting moved to places like the Rackets thread, where the context and flow of conversation are butchered.
