Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

There's also the possibility that Ryo had a legitimate reason for needing to cancel. Sometimes things do happen as far fetched as they may seem. Or they could have pulled him because they didn't want him involved in all this messy business and for big corporations like Toei, they don't really care if they hurt someone else by pulling a VA. They are thinking like business savy suits and looking out for their own hides.
I'd be interested to know the truth of why but I doubt we ever will.

Also not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but the fact that Skye got a Guest Pass is concerning. That means someone on the inside provided it to her meaning there's a mole in their midst.
I believe the prevalent theory is that somebody in the bean lady's gathering gave it to her.

I'd like to believe that it's because Toei is noticing the retardedness from the dub VAs and are getting their pull out game ready.
But alas, like you said we may never know.

I guess it's not so odd that #kickvic would have a few agents hidden somewhere feeding them info.
If I pulled down my pants and wrote "fuck you Monika and Ron" on each asscheek, will they report that to them too?

Now wait a minute, I'm new here but in the fb group screenshot isn't the person suggesting fabricating evidence getting yelled of? how do we avoid the same autistic "knee jerk believing shit" and guilt by association bs these people are guilty of?
Because when someone's being autistic, we tell them they're being autistic. If someone shows proof that a thing we've been believing is true isn't, we acknowledge that we were wrong( this is a big step, btw). Mostly, we don't throw out everyone who has an opinion that contradicts our own. Anyone can come on and say the most spergy things you can imagine, and we'll give them negative ratings but we won't kick them out.

Long and short of it is, there's too many of us of too many differing opinions to fall into the hivemind purity trap.

Edit: I was wrong and did a double negative, my deepest apologies, now fixed.

Hey welcome to the farms. Some friendly advice before someone else gets snippy with you in another thread(probably outside of weebwars), but if you are going to respond to multiple post at a time, try and have them edited into the one post, to prevent double or triple posting. We all do it from time to time though so all good.

edit: okay someone else already said it.....

Now to answer your question, I think it is not as organized as you might think(cept with the VA's). More than likely it is just randos on twitter bringing it up and wanting to insert themselves into a controversy for attention. They just report something back to get noticed by her.

Proberly worded it wrong, that's on me.

I meant, we don't like these people using the "guilt by association" tactic but here we are using a screenshot where one person suggested fabricating evidence and the community disagreed with them as proof the community supports fabricating evidence.

Sorry I'm terrible at this forum thing and admittedly I'm shit posting here when I should be working.

They'd go that far? Shit I'm too lazy to do the most basic crap and you have people going into Nick's streams to try and sabotage it for that crazy broad? We have another Brianna Wu incoming.

Best way to organize it, is click the "quote" button as you go through the threads, it stacks them all up for you to insert and go through.

I have a question for @LordKaT or any former Channel Awesome personalities that frequent the Farms:
Did you know Beth Elderkin, the author of i09 article against Vic, at all? Apparently, she's helped with some Channel Awesome projects.

So I had to think about this one, started writing, realized I was over complicating things.

So simple answer is, we're human, we're susceptible to falling for and into all sorts of fallacies, and we have to trust that if we're getting out of hand with any of that, someone else here with a different view point will come by and chew us all out for being smoothbrains. Which has a much higher chance of happening here than most other places, because believe it or not, we're not all a group of sycophants.

Edit: Crap, over thought again. For the fabricating evidence thing, it's because a number on that side HAVE fabricated evidence. The photos, the "swatting", have poisoned the well, as it were, and doesn't make it easy to trust anything that they have to say. Also the whole malice thing with wanting Vic's balls. Not behaving badly once does not remove bad behavior done before or after.

I've been compromised.

No, seriously. I don't even have a Twitter. Twitter was made for exceptional individuals by exceptional individuals for us regular folk to laugh at and make fun of.
Lurk Life, dawg. Represent.

Thank you, thank you. I'm on mobile right now though so I'll try to keep the posts to a minimum. So I'll be lurking until I get home.

Edit: Thank you to the person who cleaned up my posts. I appreciate it.

Re-read what I said. I was talking about when they were going back and redubbing all that they had done with the Ocean cast, just now with the In-House group which would also be the first time the episode would be dubbed uncut.
Oh, so he actually did voices for Burter that never aired, huh? I'd be shocked, but it is Sabat's sleaziness at work here.

Fair point I guess. I'm as you can see EXTREMELY new to this place (I literally joined around 2-3 hours ago) and I've seen my fair share of online hell holes biased one way or the other in my time so I'm really curious about what you said about "people of different opinions" on here because everyone can claim to be unbiased but that does not make that unbiased. I've seen some critique of SJWS on here allready and the word "tranny" being thrown around quite a lot, do we have some right wing bias or do we just hate everyone equally?

On a side note, I'm also writing this with a massive headache right now so I apologize if I'm not making sense or come across as hostile, that's not my intent.

It aired. It was for the first two seasons (Saiyan Saga to mid way through Namek). These redubbed episodes by Funimation in-house aired on Cartoon Network late night. This dub would make it's way onto the "Ultimate Uncut" DVDs and the "Orange Brick" Season DVD sets. Vic Mignogna voiced Burter in this redub done circa 2005 up until his death where due to scheduling Sabat took over for that episode. However, to keep consistency, Sabat redubbed all of Mignogna's lines for the DVDs. The only way to hear Mignogna would be to have the original airings on Cartoon Network recorded.
