Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

You know I sometimes think "wow we really live in a clown world" but then I hear shit like how making a single dumb sex joke while eating a jellybean and a man stopping his advances after a woman tells him no apparently constitutes as sexual assualt/harassment and then I realize that no, it's actually worse.
In short:
Fuck Monica Rial, she's spitting in the faces of actual victims who have survived actual, traumatizing assaults and I hope Vic sues her for all she's fucking worth.
he's suing her for WAYYY more than she's worth.

Well, not exactly. "Innocence vs guilt" is for criminal trials. This isn't one. This is about whether or not Vic can prove his claims so he can get money and other reparations, and we all know he can.

All I'm saying is that this lawsuit isn't about a jury of your peers and a verdict that could send someone to jail. That's another kind of trial.
I believe it's "guilty vs not guilty" in any case. Nobody is ever found "innocent."

Still follows the same mantra of all courts 'guilty or not guilty' and 'innocent vs not innocent' so using them doesn't do anything wrong.

Well, I'm pretty sure that's only for criminal cases. I mean "guilty" implies you committed a crime. And say losing the custody of a child doesn't mean "you are guilty", maybe the other parent just has more money and that's why you lost him (You didn't do anything wrong).

But, I know I'm looking pedantic here. I'm not being grammar police, sorry if it came that way. Say it whatever you want or use whatever words you please. I don't mind.

Just making the distinction, as it helps to understand what's at stake here. Saying "vic has to prove his innoncece" is inaccurate. As this trial will be about Vic getting money and not about him avoiding jail time.

I believe it's "guilty vs not guilty" in any case. Nobody is ever found "innocent."

That is correct. I made a mistake. Thank you for pointing it out.

Not true. It was Marchi.

This is chilling to read even as someone who wants Soyboy to crack. How delusional is PULL to think he'll be able to answer all this and come away clean when just one lie caught and he's fucked?

No drugs, just dopamine addiction through posting online.
Just imagine how Mr./Mrs Ron Soy Boy Toye feels.

REEEE THEY CAN'T PROVE ANYTHING REEEE

This is so wrong it's hard to even wrap my head around it. No, Vic does not have to prove anyone willfully lied. For the tortious interference claim, proving lying is not even relevant. For proving defamation, he merely has to prove negligence unless he is a public figure, and if he is a public figure, he merely has to show reckless disregard for truth or falsity.

Proving what is actually necessary is nearly trivial even before discovery.

Also he doesn't have to prove any of this "beyond the shadow of a doubt." How fat does your ass have to be to pull something that stupid out of it? He has to prove it by the preponderance of the evidence, which is simply proving it is more likely than not. That's far lower than even a criminal standard of proof which is "beyond a reasonable doubt."

"Beyond the shadow of a doubt" isn't even a legal standard anywhere on earth.

So there was a single investigation (around Jan 24th). It was by Sony. And Sony fired Vic after it a few days later. The Feb 11th announcement came 2 weeks after Vic had already been fired.

Edit: To be clear, that means the ENTIRE Funimation tweet thread was unneeded. THE ONLY THING THEY HAD TO DO IS SAY NOTHING.

And they couldn't help but virtue signal, and it's going to cost them millions of dollars.
WOW. Just WOW. Funimation has to be the stupidest and saddest company to have ever existed.
