Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Long time browser of the farms, finally decided to make an account and post. Probably not related, but it amused me and figured it would make a good first post to get involved. Elon Musk has apparently changed his twitter avatar to Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. I only bring it up here, cause of who obviously voiced the character in the English dub of both original and Brotherhood.

This whole thing has caused a divide in the anime community because Vic decided to fight back against their the accusations instead of being a good boy and letting them trample over him and get away with it, he should have been a good cuck and let them get away with it, these people would prefer an innocent man to get his life destroyed and 10 guilty people walk free because if the opposite happens it will cause more damage to the anime community as a whole, that what "healing the community" means.
Actually they just care more about being right than anything else. Because no matter how many times you present the facts to them, no matter how many times you prove them wrong, no matter how many pieces of evidence you toss at their feet, they will just always choose to outright ignore it all because they want to BELIEVE that they are right, anyone who shows them just how wrong and retarded they are be damned.

So wait a minute. If it really was Sony then why is Funi getting sued and not Sony?

What the fuck even is this "the community is healing" talking point even mean?

"Community is healing." Lol, bitch, the beatings haven't even STARTED.

So wait a minute. If it really was Sony then why is Funi getting sued and not Sony?

It isn't a wrongful termination suit. It is a defamation suit. Sony did not defame Vic. Funimation did, for absolutely no fucking reason at all.

My understanding is Sony didn't fire Vic. Some level of Sony Pictures America HR did the investigation. Funimation did fire Vic. Funimation defamed Vic. Since Sony owns 95% of Funimation, BHBH can indirectly go after Sony money.

Sony quietly dropped the contract. Ok, cool. The investigation was BS, but cool. Funimation on the other hand blasted it out, then started redacting Vic's information and never shut their employees up.

Sony and Funimation may wind up at odds with one another. While Funimation, and the terrible threesome currently being served will also be at odds with each other. Add Chris Sabat with his Otakon Studio in later, and this could actually destroy Funimation from the lawsuit alone. After going through it, it's absolutely amazing how Keikakku doori this plan is. And in so few characters and pages too. It's compact, but deadly, It's pretty evil with a lot of catch 22. And the retards over on these other forums are saying "it reads like a child wrote it" The more i go through it, the more nuanced it is. And this is just the opening less than 2 months in. Ty really does go all out on his first strike.

In other words, through actual 48D chess from Ty Beard (who I hear has a pretty mean streak in the court of law) This shit may actually fully collapse. We may not have a Funimation by the 4th quarter of this year.

New from the complaint.

Based on the phrasing of the sentence, it could mean that the Sony executives just told Vic that his Funimation employment was terminated, not that he was fired by Sony from Funimation.

It's weird that Denbow would ask Vic about only three cases of non-sexual harassment/assault incidents, and then announce his termination. What was the point in that?

If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times: talking shit on Ty Beard earns them no good boy points. Ty Beard is an extremely high octane attorney, which is the reason he was picked. He's had several high profile clients and is well known for going to insane extremes to dumpster is opponents. That's literally how they went from 2 recent law school grads to an 11 person, multi-discipline operation. It's both impressive to the observer and should be fucking terrifying to anyone staring down the barrel of this thing. Even if Ty doesn't win, he will take you down kicking and screaming with him. That is the specific reputation he has built. I simply cannot understand their smug attitudes. Even if I was 100% innocent, if I was being taken to court by Ty Beard, I would at least consider my settlement options.

He's literally high octane, not just figuratively. He represents businesess and oil barons in the Texas Oil Patch. Lots of money, lots of legal disputes and its literally fueled by propane and propane accessories. Everything from the son of a wealthy oil man getting busted for cocaine possession up to property disputes, contract disputes and very expensive divorces. There is a reason BHBH's website has such a broad portfolio. They are the type of lawyers a very wealthy texas oil executive hires for his personal use. The idea that they cannot nail a small distribution company like Funimation to the wall, let alone have never been inside a court room is mind numbingly stupid.

In many respects they are actually the best type of firm from Vics point of view. They represent wealthy individuals in their disputes. Either with other individuals or companies.

Glad the blood sucking lawyer is on Vic's side.

I can't wait to see Musks response to Nick.
If my weeb knowledge doesn't fail me that particular image is from episode 1 of the old FMA anime where Edward lectures a young, impressionable, girl about following a false prophet. Fitting.

Funny how immediately after my post Nick tweets at him, and if Vampy's assumption is correct, then perhaps my original thought of it not being related was entirely wrong. Makes it even better if it was done in relation to this mess.
