He didn't get called up to the majors. I think its because he's too fat.

Um, partially correct

DSP explained why himself, see clip via link below

DSP Cant Get CalledUP

if you cant watch the clip, basically DSP said he is a BIG FAT FUCK WHO CANT STEAL A BASE BUT WANT THE MANAGER TO SUCK HIS DICK

Ya think any manager is gonna call up a pig like this?

im not sure if this has been brought up before but is it even possible for phil to grow at this point? like even if he improved could he grow, whenever we see a new sub quite a few times its followed by "old fan/viewer."
it doesn't feel like he's capable of drawing in new viewers only old fans

It's why he keeps insisting on picking up games day 1 to draw in the initial hype. He only slinks back to old or lesser known games when there's nothing noteworthy on the trending list.

thats it, being a variety streamer is killing him
If you dont have great social skills or is very charming, you are going to have a hard time attracting large crowds by playing a large amount of different games over a small amount of time and we all know Phil is neither!
Phil thinks that he can please everyone by playing games of every genre, but only ends up losing potential viewers from the genres he isn't playing at the time!

Might be wrong, but i think that if Phil had stayed to one genre mainly, say fighting games, i think he would have a large fan base and stronger support than he has.

i can't make a concrete claim but im sure that he'd be more popular had he stayed with fighting games, hell people might even be impressed with his 4th place evo if he'd at least showed people he was capable of being skilled

Holy shit, this was a beautiful thing to watch. Wonder if Dave's seen it. Wonder if his chat's seen it. Wonder if his chat's seen it especially when he's playing a fighter and reminiscing about how badass he used to be....
lol Phil lived that shit. Look at this face, that's the face of a man who knows what a fucking loser he is. That's the face hiding behind the narcissistic mask of arm flailing, blame shifting whining. This is the face of a man who 1 year later would stake his ego on a 4th place loss, in a tournament that was boycotted by the top players, as his crowning achievement. . .even though a few hours afterwards they all wiped the floor with him in an impromptu tournament on a better version of the game.

As an addendum to my previous posts on this, here's actually some footage re-uploaded to YT a few years ago. You'll see in the description that it was originally recorded/uploaded/owned by 'Preppy', this was the guy Zack I was talking about who had the tournament footage hosting platform, and this money match between DSP and Mixup was in 2004.

This was at ECC that year, which was held at 8 on the Break in Dunellen, New Jersey. They had a regional there every year on Memorial Day weekend, and top players from all over the East Coast would show up, even from as far as Florida. I remember all of this because some people had a setup in the back of a car at the hotel pretty much everyone was staying at and I remember getting some games in vs. Mixup in the parking lot.

Just listen to the commentary in the beginning to get an idea of how the FGC saw DSP, even before he started on YT, and before his Evo 4th place 'victory'. Then proceed to watch him get demolished 10-0. The FGC didn't need him to go around recording shit and the community already disliked him, and he knew it. That's probably why he rejected the idea from Machinima.

That was fucking glorious. No difference between then and now with his performances at Fighting games.

That’s one of Phil’s biggest problems. Nothing about him draws in new viewers, except him being a huge fuck-up. He’s not smart, he’s not funny, he’s not nice, he has no charisma, he’s not good at the games he plays, and he certainly can’t fall back on his looks like a twitch thot.

All he does is continue to extort his exceptional paypigs until there wallets run dry, and every time he gets an opportunity to branch out and maybe get more fans, he refuses out of fear of getting more detractors instead.

Basically he’s steering one of the worlds slowest sinking ships.

At this point, he should become a full time Battle Royale streamer. He is shit at almost every fighting game out there because he never "leveled up".
His highest tournament placings where at a time, where the FGC was way smaller and you could place top 8 with mediocre skills.
Almost every other competitor from that era learned and adapted their playstyle to newer games, but Dave just uses the same old shit and mindset, from 20-30 years ago.

Remember when he ranted about fightcade players who never stopped playing ST and bodied his ass when the SF collection came out?
It had nothing to do with "the wrong gamespeed". They just adapted to a newer style of playing while Dave still used the same old shit from the Arcade days.

This is also why he hates every new release and doesn't even try to play other franchises like Guilty Gear, Blazblue or DOA.

Can't wait for him to dick around in the Krypt and do story-mode stuff instead of going online in MK11.

I dont know if I ever mentioned it but I did an experiment over the course of about 6 months. I joined Dave's twitch channel and gave him a follow. I talked and acted like a normal fan who happened to stumble upon him after seeing his YT videos years earlier.

Dave did give me one or two acknowledgements/answered a few questions at first without money attached. Eventually I gave him my prime sub after a couple months and just pretended to be an enthusiastic fan. I bought like $5 in bits and did some cheers asking questions over the course of a couple months and I shit you not, I didnt even spend $3 in bits before he completely insulted me and acted incredibly toxic towards me because he didnt like my cheer/suggestion.

I then got the full new fan experience. This was giving him 100% benefit of the doubt too, I was trying to see if there was any positive experience for anyone who is a new fan and its the opposite. Toxic and condescending. I admit my experiment gave dave a couple prime subs and $3 in bits but imo it was worth it for the research.

So I agree, most people there are detractors who enjoy watching the train wreck and a few truly exceptional.

I can think of so many entertaining uses for this site but for now I'm just going to bankrupt myself so I can get Michael Biehn to be in my Aliens fan film.

I would actually hire him, if he went on there, just to fuck with him like, "My wife Leanna is currently getting dicked by 10 other super chads as we speak."

Just bully this fucker into the ground lol

This pretty much reinforces the fact that Phil only gives a shit about short term progress. If he gets his money for playing it, then he'll keep it. But if it doesn't it's a wagequit. Which doesn't help since he plays games like an exceptional individual, so if a game's too hard for him, he drops it.

He also needs to learn to choose better long lasting games. The old games literally exist to flex his ego after wagequits, dashboard deletions, and general salt. That's why he inflicts his fans with Blackout and Super Turbo, because he can win in them using scrub tactics. But he fails to realize that his fans get bored watching this shit. so they don't donate.

Phil is his own worse business problem, and he doesn't know it.

That's actually exactly what I'm doing. I'm basically "infiltrating" the community and appearing like a genuine fan so I can talk trash openly (have been threatened with perma-bans twice so far), spam emotes, talk to other members, and identify the obvious trolls/ not-so-obvious trolls to shoot the shit and laugh at Dave through PMs. Seeing how far you can push the envelope and not get banned by throwing jabs at Dave is actually really fun for me. But my autism is kind of exceptional so I'm not surprised.

I had to bite the bullet and use my Prime sub to get that shiny crown badge and bought a promotional $20 in bits to use them very sporadically (I don't attend the stream that much anyways). I just try to think of questions that would bait him and make him go on a rant and possibly land in a detractor video.

I know what I'm doing is frowned upon by those who remain in the camp that we should never give DSP any type of financial compensation for what he's doing. But to me, a Prime sub and $20 in bits is nothing consequential and I have no intention of ever giving him more than whatever bits I have until I've exhausted the supply.

For me, Dave is entertainment and although I'd love to see him crash and burn, I want to witness the sinking of the ship as slowly as possible. And if I can throw a few pennies at the monkey to make him dance, get a laugh/ chuckle, and make others laugh, I have no issues with that.

But he is one toxic, condescending, angry, and entitled asshole. That's for sure.

I dont want to sound like a hipocrit but please try to avoid giving him the $20 if possible. I wasnt trying to inflitrate so I could troll, I wanted to see how he would treat someone acting like a legit fan. I was going to cap my experiment at the $5 in bits i bought. The reason I say this, its so easy to get sucked into the autism and next you know you have a $1000 bit badge because you have been "trolling" DSP so much for the past year.

TBH he is good at picking up you inflitraters and will take your bits until he is tired of you and then ban you and say he knew you were a troll all along, so be careful please.

Phil only gives a shit about short term progress

This is also a major problem in sales, marketing and financial departments. Short term success is preferred over long term growth and long term losses. The millennial attitude of instant gratification is a contributing factor to issues of corporate bankruptcy and white collar crime. It's funny because these leeches see themselves as "better" and less capitalist than their boomer predecessors.

On a more Dave note-

Of course his stupid ass prefers short term gains. He has a long track record of buying and using stupid shit like anime/game statues, girl friends, and moderators. Let's be honest, video games are not supposed to be so serious or life consuming. I don't have a negative view of Phil because he sucks or has an opinion of a game like Kingdom hearts that is negative. I don't like him (professionally not personally) because he represents the old, sleazy reputation of the door-to-door salesman. Dark has made a hobby into his life and his gameplay reflects his management of his life. He wanders around confused, asks for help (begging) all the time and falls victim to user error more often than most.

I love that Phil decides "its time to cash in on RTTS" god knows why. Probably because of it being heavily marketed on the psn store.

So he makes the correct decision to play RTTS as a chill stream. Objectively the best choice from a youtube/twitch perspective. No hate, this is the overwhelming most popular mode for content creators due to reasons.

So okay, so far so good. But then Phil plays on the beginner mode. Which means the AI throws 2 pitches, a normal fastball and a change-up. So as a player you have only the job of timing the pitch. It will always 100% of the time be directly over the plate. It will never be a ball. It will never fool you.

So strike one, its boring as fuck to watch him at the plate even when the game includes a dynamic difficulty for new players that will gradually introduce more challenge or ease up to keep you competitive.

Now, the gameplay's subpar, but whatever he's not a sports gamer, maybe his commentary is good. Oops. Its Phil. He can't fill downtime with chat banter or fun stories or sportsiness. Strike two.

The best part of RTTS besides the gameplay and slow paced talk time is the dynamic story. Maybe you're a hot shot smashing dingers. Maybe you're a quick and plucky outfielder grinding away at the dream of the MLB. But as a content creator/player the appeal is the JOURNEY. Its in the name of the mode, the ROAD to the show. Instead Phil only cares about the end result. He wants to 'win' an open ended career mode DESIGNED to make the majors a journey. Many streamers (Crumps bless his black heart) play for a full season every single game with chat. He usually makes the majors bc hes good at the game on the hardest difficulty, but chat can share his victories and frustrations when in a slump.

So. Strike three. Sit your bum ass on the bench Phil. You managed to fuck up an easy premise and get to stay a little leaguer in games as in life
