Well it's Easter Triduum and they're out in full swing.View attachment 732032
Of course this also ignores how the original holiday was pretty much when Jesus died anyway, and the pagan elements were added in as a way to help convert the Germanic peoples, much like how elements of Mithras and Saturnalia were incorporated to Christmas.

It's literally a so what, since cultures and religions bounce off each other all the time. Also proof that these cunts have no real friends or family to spend a nice holiday with before going on Spring Break and are thus reduced to reeeing at things of no importance.

My inner philosopher cringes at misunderstandings over Nietzsche's thoughts on Christianity. From what I remember, Nietzsche's problem with Christianity was less over people believing in Jesus and more how it prevented people from growing.
From what I remember, Nietzsche believed envy was a good thing because it would allow one to strive further in growing. He felt Christianity was bad because it taught people to not rise up further. I'd have to ask fellows more familiar with Nietzsche's stance on Christianity but I do feel tweets like this may of missed what the man's quote meant by that.

For the kind that are serious in trying to stick to the Christians, they have to realize that even with any shit about holidays and holiday names having pagan roots, it's all essentially moot since it's as you said, pagan elements were added in, either as means to help convert or pagan elements were added in by new members who didn't let go of all their baggage. Even then, the naming all sounds like pure tism since you got the edgelords trying to tie it to pagan goddesses as a means of "take that."

Plus with all the cultures and religions bouncing off each other, it all really says is that if one really has to try and one-up a religious group, they need better material than "pagan roots."

Fun fact: Easter in Greek and Latin is apparently called "Pascha." I feel these spergs have a missed opportunity in using that term in their euphoric Easter post.

Right it must suck to be them

Obama makes a salient point here these fedora tippers miss.

Even if we assume the beliefs of those attacked were false, those beliefs were about virtues that anyone capable of any form of even secular only morality could find humane, therefore even if they believed in nonsense, at least it was nonsense with good intentions that broke no secular laws that didn't deserve illegal violent reprisal.

Under purely secular law, Obama would be right in a legal, ethical, and moral sense.

However, the fedora tippers contempt for what they consider false beliefs is so strong even if they agree with the legal and possibly ethical sentiment, since they don't like the religious part of the moral part, the victims of such an unwarranted crime even in a purely secular sense deserve contempt simply because of a difference of opinion on morality and it's basis.

I can "agree to disagree" on a lot of things when it comes to religion or lack thereof...

... but I still don't get how euphorics seem to think people's need for religion begins and ends with needing to explain evolution. Pick any church in the world, and if you poll 100 people there why they need to go to church, I doubt more than one or two will even mention evolution... and those who do will likely be from some fringe group who obsesses over it because reasons.

It's the ultimate strawman.
