Chris-Chan Arrested and in Jail, awaiting Hearing on Monday (28-Dec-2014)

Well he was off the probation NOW , but it sure wouldn't loook good to a judge to hear that a defendant had a history of assault.

Hell, this is actually at least the third run-in Chris has had with the court system, isn't it? The first was back with the original Target incident, which ended up with the state deciding it wasn't worth the effort to fully prosecute Chris. The second, obviously, was 28 October 2011, which should have had some harsh penalties, but Chris got off lightly thanks to a plea bargain, Snyder's lenience and possibly Bell persuading the state to drop two of Chris's three original charges. This time they're probably going to look at Chris as less of an autistic goofball, and more of a serial offender.

Mmm... I kinda doubt it. From the scanner, I don't think he was taken into custody following any pursuit. I strongly get the impression that they got him at home. But that's mostly just speculation on my part.

I need a timecode on that. I heard no such thing on the scanner after listening to the whole goddamn thing.
I also listened to it to transcribe and did not hear anything about getting into someone's car. I think people are confusing this with running some plate numbers.

Oh definitely. I was talking to some friends about this very thing. How would Chris have reacted if they arrived at the house to serve an arrest warrant? Would he panic and try to run away? Break out the back door? Hide under some stuffed animals again? The possibilities!

Oh, and how would Barb reacted? Would she just hand Chris off to them? Try to lie and hide him?

I don't know!

This! There is no way he went quietly, and Barb probably read them the riot act. God I hope we get an account of how it went down.

Either way, I bet Chris will land on his feet as he always does. Maybe he gets some community service or something.

I know some people are born optimists, but I wish people would stop assuming the best circumstances for Chris. It's like they are living in denial.

Optimist: "Maybe all Chris sprayed on the guy was some perfume."
Reality: No. it was mace or pepper spray

Optimist: "Maybe the pepper spray was weak and not effective"
Reality: It doesn't matter if Chris squirted cold water at him. It's still assault

Optimist: "Chris won't get arrested".
Reality: Chris got arrested.

Optimist: "Chris only got banned from a few local Gamestops"
Reality: The ban is for ALL of the Gamestops, everywhere. Chris could attempt to sneak into one in Santa Monica, but with his e-infamy, there's still a risk he could get caught.

Optimist: "All Chris will get is a stern look from the Police and a warning to stay away"
Reality: Chris is stuck in jail for at least 48 hours. Alone.

Optimist: "Gamestop probably won't press charges"
Reality: Gamestop may have no choice but to press charges. If they didn't, that store could be labeled as a "hostile work environment" by who knows what state and labor agencies. Gamestop isn't going to risk getting on OSHA's Shitlist to protect some arrogant trantard who had no business being there in the first place.

I'm afraid Cyan and Indigo will have to miss work on Monday to attend the hearing. Sorry, but some sacrifices must be made.
I thought the hearing was gonna be made by video? Or is that something else?

Chris will not lose SSI/SSDI benefits because he was convicted of a felony. However, these benefits will be suspended upon his long term incarceration.

Well at least Barb learned her lesson from last time. She just handed Chris over without trying to interfere with the cops.

I have expected her to freak out again but it looks like only 1 Chander is going to the big house this time.

If I am not mistaken remarks made at the time of arrest are entered into evidence,at least in the UK.
Correct- in the States, we got the Miranda Warning. It's that "you are under arrest. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law..." line a lot of cop shows like to trail off from after slamming a perp into a wall and then promptly going into commercials.

And knowing Chris, good Godbear I'm certain he didn't shut up the entire trip to the prison and rambled on and on about how he was being persecuted for being a lesbian autistic soul and that he was going to press bombs to Sega's throat for making a cartoon animal's arms blue... needless to say, I certain the cops really didn't need that shit just a day or two after Christmas.

Here too. That's why when someone tells you that you have the right to remain silent, and to speak to an attorney, that is exactly what you should do--even if you legitimately have not committed any crime at all.

But, to paraphrase an old comedian, Chris had the right to remain silent--but not the ability.

I also listened to it to transcribe and did not hear anything about getting into someone's car. I think people are confusing this with running some plate numbers.

The most anyone ever thought might have happened based on listening to the police scanner was he knocked on some guy's car door. I am not sure if that will end up being a misinterpretation, but either way, I assume the poster who suggested car-jacking was being facetious.
That is informative. But I would caution anyone from reading that and concluding there is a likelihood Chris will do 5 or more years in jail. What tends to happen is the prosecutor will say to Chris "Look son, (or daughter), just plead guilty to these lesser charges and do your 30 days. If you go to trial you could end up in prison for 5-20 years."

BTW, the class 6 felony (which would happen if they could not PROVE maliciousness) is:

(f) For Class 6 felonies, a term of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than five years, or in the discretion of the jury or the court trying the case without a jury, confinement in jail for not more than 12 months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both.

Class 3 requires PROVING maliciousness. Not "come on guys, we all know Chris is a douche and hates men, he was being malicious". But beyond a reasonable doubt proof to a jury of non-Christorians.

I agree that it is entirely conceivable Chris serves time for this. But I would be shocked if his sentence is measured in years instead of days. You have to be really careful about combing through the laws, and finding the most serious criminal statute that could conceivably be applied to this event. That's not really how things work.

Hahaha he's going to be sitting in that cell all day stewing in his own impotent rage and :briefs:. I eagerly await seeing how this episode unfolds.

When I saw that Chris had assaulted someone I automatically thought that he'd manhandled them and tried to punch them out or something. Unpleasant as Mace to the face might have been for that poor employee, it was probably better than having Chris get in his personal space and lay his nasty hands on him.

But he either legitimately had someone's cat killed or bragged about it to impress a girl, so fuck him. :alog:
Wait, what?!

If it's a choice between having him in jail, or having him macing innocent people...

I was actually giving this some thought. The video shows a much more aggressive Chris. What if he decided to be proactive and just walk up and mace anyone he suspects of being a troll? I don't think such a thing is beyond the realm of possibility.
