Some compare and contrast here.
During 10/28/11, Barb was behind the wheel at the Game Place
On this incident, Chris was acting on his own.

During 10/28/11, Chris was interested in taking pictures of Michael Snyder and that was apparently the motivation behind his actions.
On this incident, he intended to commit vandalism and potentially assault anyone who stopped him.

During 10/28/11, Michael Snyder was injured as a result of being hit by the Chandlers' Car. Chris, although stupid to act as he did, was just a passenger.
On this incident, Chris directly sprayed a GameStop Clerk with pepper spray.

In the aftermath of 10/28/11, Michael Snyder showed a remarkable mercy towards OPL and did not insist on throwing the hard charges against Chris or Barb.
On this incident, GameStop is a giant company that likely can not show the same mercy even if it wanted to, more businesses are involved, and I don't see how any kind of deal with the defendants to drop the charges is likely.

During 10/28/11, Chris wasn't a convicted Felon
On this incident, Chris has that whole history behind him.

After 10/28/11, Chris and Barb did have Bob's estate to use for legal expenses.
On this incident, it isn't clear that Chris has a home to live in. Although he has a small income via medallion sales, he's as broke as then. But Barb has little resources to help him either.

====

A 10/28/11 ending of probation, fines, and restitution isn't in the cards.
In just about every way, Chris has managed to commit a worse act with fewer means to navigate the legal system.

Chris is definitely going behind bars.
Chris really should be given another round of psych evaluation--it might even come back with real concerns about future violence.
--Chris could be institutionalized. Given that he's managed to commit assault over Sonic's Blue Arms of all things, there is some possibility of that.

Chris probably isn't going to be paroled or given early release. How is any state bureaucrat supposed to look at Chris and his considerable stupidity and decide that he's shown a real effort to rehabilitate himself? Chris has needed that for well over a decade and it never appeared.

Tl;dr: Chris' goose is cooked and he's the last person to know.

This. All of this.

Like I said, it's the beginning of the end for Chris-chan. Events are now headed towards their final climax and conclusion.

The more I hear, the more I hope to God the trial falls over the summer, so I can go.

Would you go in JULYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

He is currently charged with a offense (with fairly good video evidence) that has a one year minimum sentence. Even if he Plea Bargians I really don't see avoid imprisonment in the Card, No felony and Contry Jail sure but he will be imprisoned

He could fight it there is a small chance he could beat the charges I my view, butif this goes to trial he is looking at some serious time

Every sensable person says Don't take Legal advice from Cwcki message boards

According to people who bothered to look, Chris' tugboat would be suspended during his jail stay if it's longer than 30 days. Could Barb be able to support herself on just her own Tugboat for a year?

Damn last time he did a stint in the pokey he had meemaw in there with him so im guessing he kinda felt assured. Now he is in there by himself aint no telling whats going through his 10 year old mind. I wonder if the drunks in there are giving him a hard time if he is the holding cell

Ah, shit, he's in a holding cell with other people? Dressed as he is?!

...dear God...

Unless it has a radically different meaning in the US, aggravated assault is just assault that's particularly negative, either because it was done in the committing of a felony or with total disregard to the well-being of the victim or some other factor adding severity. iirc, some jurisdictions define it as any assault using a weapon. It's basically assault plus one.

That's correct. Virginia doesn't seem to use "aggravated assault" as a category, though; they have a more detailed taxonomy of assault crimes, going from simple assault through "unlawful wounding" through "malicious wounding" to "aggravated malicious wounding." There's a rundown here.

What will really set the tone of this is the bail hearing. I doubt the Chandler's ability to raise money for bail. I can't see it being more than $5,000. Remember, the court is about 0.3% as interested in this case as we are. It's another fat, smelly weirdo who did something stupid and no judge in this country wants a case like this to go on for longer than it absolutely has to. So, while some here are keen to throw away the key, what happens in this bail hearing will be crucial. They won't suspend bail, he's not a flight risk and too much of a coward to go back for more. Can the family raise $500 to pay a bondsman to get Chris out? I think it's possible they could. Either way, I think his sentence comes down to whatever happens here. I would say that, if he doesn't make bail and stays incarcerated for 30-60 days, if found guilty, he'd be sentenced to 60 days, time served, probation, fine, ban. I'd assume the jail would order a psych eval if he were going to be there for a while, and I'm not sure if that's admissible but could help him out. If he does make bail, as long as court is uneventful and he doesn't piss off the judge, I could see a suspended sentence/probation, fine, ban, psych eval.

I was on a jury for (what I thought was) an open-and-shut trespassing case, involving a transient senior citizen who shit himself, didn't make bail, and acted as his own attorney, quite poorly too. The prosecutor was probably 3 weeks removed from passing the bar and presented a poor enough case to convince half the jury he wasn't guilty. We argued for a day over the semantics of how a question was phrased to us. As soon as we told the judge "we're stuck," it was basically, "OK, hung jury *gavel* NEEEXT!!" We could have said that 5 minutes into deliberations and she would have done the same thing, she wanted the case out of the courtroom, it was ridiculous. As will this case be. But, my point is, all it takes is a stubborn juror and/or a rushed judge and absolutely none of what people are hoping or predicting will come true. He won't go to prison, he won't have the trial of the century. The judge sees this as 1 more case that he/she wants OUT of the courtroom as fast as possible. They won't take the time to intricately study Chris' dossier and issue wise rulings in a case like this. Maybe the judge will be a hardass and actually give him a few weeks in jail, or maybe he/she will get a kick out of the 2 or 3 weens in the gallery and let him off light. DO NOT try and troll a judge, especially in his/her courtroom. King Kong ain't got shit on that.

Given what we know of his last stint in jail and how he went completely batshit since then, I agree.

See, that's the other thing. Is he just going to be a tough egg to crack, and then fall in line after a day or two? Jail isn't designed for the bright and well-educated. He's nothing the staff there hasn't seen before, I'm sure. And not just the time you're referring to.

Jail isn't designed for the deeply crazy, either, though. It will be interesting to say the least to hear Chris's account of this experience.

Fair point, but I think their motivational techniques and institutional methods for making inmates shut up and fall in line are sufficient for Chris. Point is, jail staff aren't dealing with hardened jailbirds most of the time, it's people like Chris who are drunk/high/stupid and are just stopping by until bail. Never more than a year.

I bet if he actually lands himself in the real clink (DUI is my guess) he'll be transferred to some minimum security camp type thing in another state. I'd love to see him get a dose of the old Scared Straight style boot camp. I'd probably have to quit this board after seeing those videos.

Oh yeah, cops have seen shit; and they talk about people like Chris the rest of their career. A friend of mine is a retired cop and he STILL talks about all the shit he's seen. He could write a book. He told me and my bf at the time that he had a guy in for questioning who kept pretending he was a sloth. He was in their custody for like 5 hours and during this time he 'became' a sloth 20-some times. This was 30 years ago. If sloth-man is that rememberable, Chris is going to be the joke of the office for a while. Think about it; he was brought out in (likely) the same outfit we saw him in the video. This means he had his ... weiner contraption on and you can guarantee that he said some fucked up shit while he was there. Probably requires them to call him Christine or is spewing shit about being "Christine Christian BirthNameChristopher Weston Chandler of Ruckersville, Virginia. Creator of Sonichu and Rosechu and Cwcville and Fighter of the Trolls and Blue Armed Sonic". I wish we could get some sense of exactly he's doing/saying while in custody. Remember, he also said he absolutely refuses to eat "prison food" and says he'd rather starve. If someone in custody refuses food, the police on duty don't try and baby you to eat it. You say no, they just take it away. They might start worrying after a two or three days, but by then they'll just get you admitted and they'll put an IV in you.
