Chris-Chan Arrested and in Jail, awaiting Hearing on Monday (28-Dec-2014)

I'm a little late to the party here, as I only found out about this a couple of hours ago. I'm almost in shock. I knew he'd do something stupid eventually, but not something completely unprovoked like this.

he's absolutely fucked, and this is going to ruin him. even if it's a short sentence, there is no way he's avoiding prison this time. (this time Rob Bell isn't helping him out, and there's no way Gamestop is going to be as merciful as Snyder.)

I guess I only have one question. Let's say he goes to prison for a year. Is there going to be a complete content dry-up? Are prisoners allowed access to Facebook?

See, right there, I would turn into Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. Glad I've never experienced it firsthand, but I'm betting the guards there are no strangers to the 3 appropriate responses for subordinates -- yes sir/ma'am, no sir/ma'am, I don't know sir/ma'am. Anything else and you get screamed at for not using the 3 responses. Worked wonders on fraternity pledges about 10 years ago.

I wish we could get some sense of exactly he's doing/saying while in custody.

There's something so weirdly, perfectly fitting about this situation. Specifically how avoidable it all was for Chris.

I don't even mean not defacing property or not going to Fashion Square Mall. This could have been a 35-second tumblr video of Chris stomping out and blowing a raspberry. We'd all laugh, pick apart minute details, and that'd be it. But he chose without provocation to mace someone.

If he had just not fucking maced someone he could have walked out with another ban to add to his list and that would have been the end of it.

Kenneth: "Rightfully maced him?? Can't retaliate because you're a trans??" I don't think you fully understand what kind of trouble you're in. You walk into an establishment that you were banned from and attempt to vandalize their property then use a weapon against a store employee after being kicked out and rightfully so.

Kengle to the rescue! Sure, he'll bail Chris out in exchange for a night of manbear cuddling, ass patting, and idol worship. Or maybe he'll do it just for Chris to acknowledge his existence and tag him on FB when he gets out.

And yes. This is all Sega's fault and all these stores too for not going ape-shit crazy over blue arms.

I know it's already been said, but I still have to say it. God damn it, Chris. This is what I get for taking time off the board to visit the family.

Honestly, I don't see this working out well for him. I doubt he'll get a full five-year sentence--mentally disabled, freaking the fuck out over a video game character, etc.--but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to jail this time around. At least it'll get him away from Barb for a little while.

I'm curious. Can you arrange a visit with someone in jail if they don't know you? Would the guard say "Hey you got a visitor..."


If he does go away for a while, I'm sure he would be willing to talk to a fan from time to time...


Any screws or hacks here that could shed some light on this?

I honestly think the worst that will happen is him being mind-numbingly bored in segregation. If he carries on with the defiant entitled behavior locked up they will write reports on it and this will make his already shitty situation even worse. Even something as simple as not eating because he thinks he's too good for the food can earn him an incident report and be used against him later on seeing as he thinks that the only laws and rules that apply to him are the ones he picks and chooses to follow. He really is an awful case of too dangerous to let run amok yet not really street smart or tough enough to handle jail life.

I think letters are the best anybody could hope for. It's usually a lot of red tape to be ok'd to be a visitor. I'm sure the facility would catch on pretty quick of his online infamy.

yeah i really doubt a currently unemployed 50-year old man that lives with his parents is going to make the 6+ hour drive from RI just to see him, since he can't offer any help.
