Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

I've been on the fence as to wether or not I think Arin is a lolcow. On one hand, I really enjoyed his work with Jon and the early to mid stuff with Dan but on the other hand, he does display a lot of cow traits.

Recent events have caused me to lean towards the "yeah the dude's a lolcow" just because he seems to have gone totally fucking insane. Coming from a long time fan of Game Grumps, that's saying a lot.

I hope someone can slap some sense into him so he can self refelct and figure out why people are pissed but at this point I don't think that's gonna happen

Until he's put into a situation where he's removed entirely from his security bubble of yes men/enablers, Arin will remain oblivious to how much of a douchebag he actually is.

I don't think anyone could separate the man from the ideology at this point. When a drop-out finds success online and starts working with established libcows like Dan Harmon, yes men aren't the problem anymore. Arin is all in, lungs half-full of the Kool-Aid™. He'll tow that party line for the rest of his life, for free, just thirsting for that next big project.

I bet Game Grumps is going to undergo some kind of upheaval or major change soon. Super Mega has been talking about moving out to their own place, and presumably stop editing for Game Grumps. In their most recent podcast, they were talking to Vernon and mentioned him moving on to bigger and better things. On the subject of Super Mega, they seem to be more and more willing to take the piss out of their employers, and seem a bit frustrated with the company they work for. Arin seems to give a minimal amount of shits with the quality and success of Game Grumps. Their most recent tour was called "The Final Party" and everyone previously a part of the main cast has migrated on to something else. There may be more to it, or events that contradict my evidence, but this is based on what I know from an outsider perspective not having watched anything of theirs for like 5 years.

My guess is the show itself will stop, Game Grumps as a company will still exist, but it will be more focused on individual projects than a unifying concept they collaborate on.

This makes me think of the moments during their podcasts in which Grumps staff (Hannah, Allie, Dan and or Ross) just barge into the recording studio, unannounced - the former two seemingly not caring that they're interrupting a podcast for whatever reason. Hell, in one vid, one of the SuperMega dudes asked one of the ladies if they would ever be so disrespectful towards the Grumps while they were recording and - I kid you not - the girl said no, because they're her bosses. The Lovelies like to claim it was all a bit (that if you watch SuperMega, you'd kow this was their brand of comedy - and given that the uper Mega guys never bother to lock the door to prevent those interruptions, I would guess it is a bit); but, if SuperMega are seriously considering moving on to other things, I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of respect from their colleagues would play a big part in that decision.

I don't care how close friends you are; if you know someone is in the middle of a podcast, the least you can do is knock before entering the room - or, better yet, wait until they're done.

Their Animal Crossing playthrough was a shitshow of that. Every episode featured a different person interrupting (I know for sure in the earlier ones, I dropped off soon after). At least SuperMega weren't alone in that part, since I remember some of the comments even pointing it out. Even fans of both shows weren't excusing it as some kind of quirky, 4th wall joke.

Dude, have you checked anything related to SuperMega on the Grumps comments sections, and especially r/GameGrumps? Just today, there were still people trying to defend it as a "just being a bit" saying how they'd edit it out if they did hate it so much.

(Instead of the thought that: maybe they're not editing it out because the cuts would become so obvious and frequent, people would wonder what's up anyways, because it would happen nearly every single episode.)

I'm pretty sure it is all a bit (and, if it isn't, the Super Mega guys just use it to their advantage); but I have my doubts that they're 100 % okay with the interruptions.

If it is just a bit, then it's long since worn out its welcome. Shit's happened in several of their newer playthroughs now.

Oh, I agree completely. But, pay in mind, these are people who work with The Grumps - as long as the sycophantic fans laugh at their 'quirkiness', they'll continue beating that dead horse well after it's been reduced to a fine dust.

Edit: on a separate topic;, Arin recently did a five job trend on Twitter and went on the defense when someone made an off hand joke about Arin listing himself as an owner of an entertainment company.

good for supermega, honestly. them being boggled down by some unfunny sperg and his rabid fanbase and trying to please them so they don’t throw a tantrum does takes a toll. they should pull an oney and leave without looking back.

I also think it's rather sad that, even with all the accomplishments he's listed, Arin ignores the fact that none of these things were considered successes and, if they were, it's due to the talent involved - not him, directly.

That six episode series he did with Harmon got multi millions of views? Didn't help it from getting cancelled, did it?

Oh, Dream Daddy is the second highest rated indie game of 2017? Okay - where? Because looking it up, I don't see it listed on any Indie game lists. Most I found was nominations, but no actual wins of anything.

Edit: Looking it up on Wikipedia, this is all it said in regards to Dream Daddy's success:

'The game was nominated for "Best Visual Novel" in PC Gamer's 2017 Game of the Year Awards, and for "Best Adventure Game" in IGN's Best of 2017 Awards. It was a runner-up each for "Best New Character" (Damien Bloodmarch), "Best Cast of Characters", and "Game of the Year" in Giant Bomb's 2017 Game of the Year Awards. It won the award for "Biggest Surprise" in Game Informer's 2017 Adventure Game of the Year Awards.'

So, nominations; but no actual wins. And being a runner up doesn't exactly scream success to me.

The only actual successes are the albums; and I'd place that success on NSP/TWRP (talented musicians) than I would Arin (who, as rumor has it, needed to be dragged into the recording studio to finish this last album).

Dream Daddy winning anything is like when Justin Bieber won a Grammy or sang at an event whose audience wasn't tween girls. Sad.
