It doesn't even really matter to the people who believe it. At the end of the day, what in your life is different if humans evolved from primates, or were poofed into existence by the sky-man? Literally nothing changes either way.

My inner philosopher cringes at misunderstandings over Nietzsche's thoughts on Christianity. From what I remember, Nietzsche's problem with Christianity was less over people believing in Jesus and more how it prevented people from growing.
From what I remember, Nietzsche believed envy was a good thing because it would allow one to strive further in growing. He felt Christianity was bad because it taught people to not rise up further. I'd have to ask fellows more familiar with Nietzsche's stance on Christianity but I do feel tweets like this may of missed what the man's quote meant by that.
For the kind that are serious in trying to stick to the Christians, they have to realize that even with any shit about holidays and holiday names having pagan roots, it's all essentially moot since it's as you said, pagan elements were added in, either as means to help convert or pagan elements were added in by new members who didn't let go of all their baggage. Even then, the naming all sounds like pure tism since you got the edgelords trying to tie it to pagan goddesses as a means of "take that."
Plus with all the cultures and religions bouncing off each other, it all really says is that if one really has to try and one-up a religious group, they need better material than "pagan roots."
Fun fact: Easter in Greek and Latin is apparently called "Pascha." I feel these spergs have a missed opportunity in using that term in their euphoric Easter post.
'Pascha' comes from the Hebrew 'Pesach', i.e. 'Passover'. Paschal is an existing English word used to refer to Easter, e.g. the Catholics talk about the 'Paschal mystery'. I did find an angry Orthodox Christian website kvetching about the usage of the word Easter in English since it's from the name of a Pagan goddess, but considering they love giving their sons a name that means 'follower of Demeter' it's hard to take them seriously.
The atheist sperging about OH LOOK PAGAN NAME thing has been going on since forever and it's incredibly annoying. Like, people know!
Also, Easter eggs exist because historically you weren't allowed to eat eggs during Lent, so when it was finally Easter and Lent was over people were super excited to eat eggs again. It has nothing to do with paganism.
Atheist from the UK claims he was bullied by a worker from a suicide hotline for not being religious. I can't tell if this worker was Christian, Islamic or something else. One of the top rated comments tells him to pretend to be a family member and lie and say he killed himself and it's their fault and sue them.
If you live in a country where the monarch is the head of the state church, then you live in a religious country, and you shouldn't be mad when your government services reflect that.

Oh, yeah, I wasn't really being serious, but I agree I doubt it happened the way he reported it as happening.

Yeah Nietzche hated Christianity because it was egalitarian and promoted pity. He also viewed that it made people deny life (celibacy, denying the will to power) by telling them they will go to heaven which viewed as not real. He also hated the ideas that he viewed had the Christian aesthetic idea like socialism, progressivism, fascism, and liberalism.

I saw someone today getting incredibly mad about the word 'quadriplegia' because it's of partial Greek and partial Latin origin, and I feel like the Venn diagram between people who get mad about that and people who are smug about the pagan origins of names is a circle.
I guess some sects of Christianity and individuals do take the Bible seriously as truth above all, but there are just as many who don't. In fact, one of the things we did in religious education (which in my country is done by the church, not school) was discuss and take tests on the stories in the Bible and explain them through natural phenomena like the Red Sea parting being an exaggerated low tide. I'd imagine most people would see the Bible as a collection of fables and morality tales than actual history.
