so, rules are basically employer cant benefit from intern, intern cant replace someone that quit/was fired, and someone somewhere has to supervise the internship at some level. if arin follows all the rules, he doesnt have to pay a thing, but if he doesnt he would be liable to be sued.

arin also has to submit an internship proposal to the the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE). i tried looking around to see if those proposals are available for public viewing or not, but any amount of research i tried just returned the rules for unpaid internships.

This is just my stupid theroy but as far as let's play being popular I wanna say it's gonna still be around till 2020. After that the bubble is gonna pop. It will still be around but let's playing will be like what vlogging turned into. The people who do it will still be making videos but over the next few years the number of people who watch the content will get smaller and smaller. The sleepycast guys and jontron had a good discussion on this subject. ->
Let's player's are already kinda dying, Super Best Friends broke up, Achievement Hunter hasn't been relevant in years and most of us have seen the shitshow of what GG turned into. Everybody has been flocking to streaming, then that has to lose it's appeal for let's playing to REALLY die. Let's play's will be around for a while but it will die a slow painful death.

As someone who enjoyed the Jon era of GG a lot, I really liked this short! Although it was stupid that, like, the video is 20% ads. I wish he would release the full audio as a podcast or something.

I belive LPs in terms of playing a game all the waythrough are more or less dead at this point especially with the SBFP breaking up. I do think this sorts of content creators will move onto playing low quality/silly games as a jumping off point for jokes.

Something similar to Funhaus or that one Russian that plays GTA 4 nodded. That and more people are going start doing "reviews" like Civvie and tessnakerer.

Similar to how reaction channels slowly morphed into the commentator community, then into quasi-vlog channels

Well Game Grumps always feels forced or restrained since Jon left and Arin tried to sanitize it. So it makes sense that this would do well since people enjoy others being candid.

That said I enjoyed it and was surprised I would.

Doubly so because the game was recorded in 72p quality. No, that wasn't a typo of 720p. I mean 72p. You cannot see what's going on in any capacity.


And for a game like TABS (Totally Accurate Battle Simulator) where the entire point is to see silly shit happen on screen, that's pretty bad.

Very true. I also think stream highlight compilations are becoming more popular and accessible to people, considering now a lot of them feature editing too on top of a 40 minutes-2 hour long video (e.g. Vinesauce). Especially with how Chris has incorporated "BEST OF" compilations alongside his Let's Plays, I think that's the direction things will go.

Why watch 50+ episodes of GG where they dick around, complain and meander when a fan can watch a highlight reel instead and cut out all the bullshit.
