There's nothing wrong with making a character that has a bit of a generic look. I honestly kinda commend people who make their fursonas pretty basic. Using irl animal colors, avoiding hybridization, not adding wings, etc. I see tons of people complaining about the unnatural colors people slap on their fursonas. Them being a bit generic and simple can be a nice refresher. Selling them to your fans for at least $500 is a whole other story, however. There's a strange similarity to brands like Supreme who put minimal effort into their designs and sell them to these sheep at outrageous prices. When it comes to characters like this, just make your own that's similar. It's not hard and they're not these ultra unique sparkledogs. Nobody is gonna draw the correlation and if they do, it's not like it's gonna be a huge issue when the designs are so simple. Copies of characters are everywhere, even in professional works of fiction. The fact that they're saying "pay us for this character, but we still own it" is just insulting. Just save your money.
