It was very well written. The punch line at the end was perfect. That was seriously the best fanfic I've read in - like - ever.

Help! Help! An Iranian Mongol is appropriating my culture! Jokes aside this makes me wish Jontron would start more openly aping game grumps and start building his own media empire.
Well if he didn't piss off enough people by showing how ill-equipped he was to take on Zelda he'll sure as shit do with Tom and Jerry.View attachment 742386
Man who hasn’t animated in 6+ years thinks he can give can commentary on animation.
Context: op is a clip of a Tom and Jerry short presented in 60fps.
Watching Arin fuck up Ocarina of Time was one of the few times I've felt genuine hatred towards an internet person. Then it was fun with Majora's Mask because I never played that one so I got to figure out the solution 10 minutes before Arin just by looking at the screen.Because I'd rather not see my favorite game during my high school years being shat on by a biased manchild with a weird rubber neck.
Arin's "animation credentials" are the dumbest thing ever. He made Newgrounds videos that impressed everyone when they were a teenager, big deal. I liked those stick figure games back in the day, if I'd programmed one and moved on I wouldn't call myself a programmer.
The sad thing is, you actually saw improvement with his animations as time went on. What didn't change was his sense of humor, and there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. I know plenty of people who laugh at edgy stupid shit that we found legitimately funny in high-school. His problem is he still does the mush-mouthed illiterate stumbling around like a drunk 3 year old who's snorting pixie sticks. And when you incorporate that into a medium where your voice is the most prominent interaction you have with your audience, you're shooting yourself in the foot. If he kept up with animation and focused on it for work, he could've had a serious job years ago.
Unless he pitches his own show and it gets greenlit by a major animation company like cartoon network, he will never not work for someone. He had a "serious job" in animation for Fox years ago, but he quit or something because he didn't like working for someone else in a creative environment.
If anything Jon is living proof you can go under some heavy fire and then come back doing what you love and your people will flock to you. Goddamn Arin and Danny scratch their heads and blame everything else while Jontronshow now has more subscribers to his channel that has EXCELLED in the past two years compared to the six years ago he left Gamegrumps. It's funny how Jon puts out literally not even 1/1000 of the videos GG craps out and has more subscribers.
I hate to drag the conversation back into the Oney vs Egoraptor comparisons but here we are. Oney at least attempted to bring his work into the mainstream, it didn’t work out in the end, sure. But at the very least he attempted. Arin is content to bring in the cash from Grumps and not do a single thing with it other than pay people to animate for him and occasionally pay the people that work on the channel. Sure they probably used the money to make Dream Daddy, but that venture was just because, not for any interest in continuing to make games for their audience. Meanwhile Oney makes it no secret that he’s using the money he makes from monetization and product sales for funding his own games.Unless he pitches his own show and it gets greenlit by a major animation company like cartoon network, he will never not work for someone.
He became complacent. It shows. He can't take criticism and has a rabid hateboner for things that challenge things he likes. This would translate terribly to a working environment like animation. Fuck I'm a writer for a comic and I still have to answer to the editors and directors. Just because I take the story into certain places doesn't mean I have free reign.
