Has Phil ever said why he moved across the country without selling his condo first? I know he had his aunt staying there for a while, but did he really just expect to make enough money from youtube to pay 2 mortgages indefinitely? It's been something that's always bothered me and I haven't found any video explaining his reasoning.

I don't think he ever stated why. I'd love to be proven wrong. Any rational human being would sell the CT condo first and then move.

I believe it was he either thought he could eventually sell it, rent it, or thought he could make enough money to say fuck it.

Gotta remember dark was at the height of YouTube and making money around the time of the move, the main reason the move even happened was because he was rolling in green

The move to Washington was unbelievably rushed. He took a vacation and bought the fourth house that whatever random realtor showed him, and as soon as possible he was flying out there and buying a house full of new furniture. I genuinely think that he had assurances from either his parents or aunt that they'd be living there, so he never thought about the issues with selling the condo when he's across the country but still accountable.

Doesn't seem to have worked all that much, tbh. If his end-stream on-screen totals are remotely right, he got less than $150 in tips and ~$101 in cheers + subs. That's slightly above average, but nothing crazy. And it's the beginning of the month, so people have more disposable (at least in their minds) income.

He says didn't have time to do anything with the condo, but he will definitely sell it or rent it because there is no way he can afford 2 mortgages. As soon as he gets settled in he will get rid of it...

He had such big dreams of how Washington would improve his life and rejuvenate his business. He just never did any of the things he planned. Using a green screen, writing more skits and reviews, going to conventions and meeting fans, making friends with a new group of people.

After a few weeks of trying to appear like a regular in DSP's chat, all I gotta say is... it's definitely a no-fun allowed zone.

KingofGahlfHD is arguably the worst mod I've ever seen in any kind of community.

First off, the guy just spams DSP memes all day long. Pretty much all he says. That or bitching about "lawlis" or furries. Second, he obviously watches detractor videos as he made a comment last night about hearing kekon scream which is a sound that's often used on Tevin's streams.

He's constantly deleting messages from people just because he can and Phil doesn't give a fuck. It's basically a virtual Twitch Concentration Camp experience.

How are you supposed to build a long-term, sustainable, and positive community when your mods are total shitheads?

PS - Kozatof/ Koz/ koz/ kozatof keywords are now bannable in chat since there seems to be a running meme of trying to get KingKozatof mod.

I'm confused @Haunter didnt you say he just got a huge $7k payment from twitch like 2 weeks ago due to them changing the payout schedule and him basically getting 2 months of twitch money all at once?

If so, that is insane and this is just outright lying, not even a snippet of truth. Unless he spent that $7k on paying down credit cards or something and forgot that his next twitch payment would be a lot less than he usually gets?

I'm reasonably sure you're being rhetorical but in case you're not (as in I don't quite understand why you're on this MGS acktocamo stealth mission to blend in amongst a bunch of mongs) I think it's worth pointing out the obvious reality: Phil does not care in any way shape or form about cultivating a thriving, pahsitive and authentic community. He's peerless in his own mind and is only interested in making sure that the makeshift hugbox is stronk enuff to offer DSP and DSP alone protection from any wouldbe usurper who may dare to point out one of his many obvious grating flaws as an entertainer/businessman/fulltime limp noodle.

If he had a line of unflappable waifs who would scrounge up their every last penny (and the amount was high enough of course) and could be depended upon to remain true to Phil until their dying day.. even a handful of these would be enough for him to abandon the facade of community in its entirety. The mods are just an extension of the scam, bit-part players who can be cast aside when the next season calls for recasting and a shake up and even they as we've seen of late can't be trusted to remain subservient to Boss Hogg. He sucks at every aspect of his jahb and can't get a read on people well enough to "hire" the right kind of people and even if he can it's never very long before his own toxic personality rubs them the wrong way.

Either way I think this one-time windfall for Phill is going to turn into a long term problem for him. Think about it, he used to have two months worth of buffer. Is it a slow month? No problem, just turn the begging up to 11 and make up for whatever shortfall he's expecting on month -1 with extreme begging in month 0.

Now that buffer is gone. Whatever his sub/cheer results are for each month will hit him almost immediately. Now to be fair the man puts a strong emphasis on tips but I expect his greying and hair-loss to accelerate noticeably going forward.
