True as this may be, it's even irrelevant to his argument if he actually wanted to change his setup for the benefit of himself and the stream.

His main excuse is that he has to have it blowing out the window and it has its own exhaust duct to do so, but it's literally nothing more than like a 3" radius piece of flexible ducting. He could easily buy 10 feet of the stuff and run the hose along the wall, or even tack it up to the ceiling if he didn't want it to get in the way. That shit is not heavy, you could probably get away with just using an adhesive on a plastic bracket.

Of course, it's entirely possible that the exhaust ports on both the AC and the window are some weird proprietary shit that you can't disconnect, so that means it's impossible for him to change. Any reasonable person would realize you can just cut the hose in the middle and splice the ends together to extend it, but dearest Dave would argue he would be voiding whatever manufacturer warranty he has (guarantee it's no more than 2 years, so it's expired). It's such a simple solution that any person, not even a man, who doesn't want to look incompetent would be able to put into action.

I haven't looked anything up, but I can't imagine it costing more than like $40 for everything to extend the hose: $20 for 10 feet of some flexible duct, maybe like $6-7 for a small roll of good duct tape, then another ~$15 for the various bits of plastic, aluminum, and a double-sided adhesive to mount it on the ceiling if he went that way.

Propose it on stream as a goal and he'd get that money in an hour since his chat would call his bluff on him actually doing it and the trolls would start putting singles in his electronic g-string to see how long it would take our lord and master to do an hour's worth of manual labor, not including the rearranging and cleaning, of course.

I'll hop in his stream chat early and see if I can catch him when he's 'wassap'ing everyone and try to get an answer.
He'd have to call his Dad to come and set anything like that up.

Well, that's the question, innit?

Someone could go through the Home Depot or Lowe's inventory and make an itemized list of literally everything he needed, what aisle it was in, and give him a step-by-step instruction on how to do the absolutely miniscule amount of work needed to fix a problem like that and he'd probably still try to find a reason to cop out.

I really don't understand how someone can be that lazy or incompetent. I'm willing to bet he could probably do it without fucking it up, but he's just scared to or something. The trip to his local overpriced home improvement center (you know he wouldn't go to an actual hardware store where the staff actually knows what they're doing) would be mind-breaking for him. He'd want to confirm with someone that he has all the right stuff and that would mean admitting that he doesn't know everything, even if he's 95% sure he's got what he needs.

The simple statement/question of, "Hey, I'm doing this and I'm pretty sure I've got everything I need, but I'm wondering if you think there's a better way to go about it. Just want an opinion real quick," is probably so terrifying to him.

I don't know if it's terrifying or insulting. With the way he talks to his viewers, I could imagine him telling the Lowe's/Home Depot clerk he doesn't know anything about Phil's completely 100% unique circumstance that no one else can solve.

Nah, he's so much more timid in real life. He talks to his chat and audience the way he does because he has power over them with the ability to ban people and only say on camera what he chooses, like pretending his chat is saying one thing when they're actually saying the complete opposite to give his non-existent YT audience the belief that people agree with him, since YT can't speak at all.

Apologies if this has been talked about already. I searched and nothing came up. Big Brain Phil, the old veteran of PC building, explains that he can't rearrange his office because the air conditioner blowing on his "equipment" could freeze and damage the internal components. This is something he knows for a FACT, by the way.

Wow Ive heard some very stupid shit and I know better than to expect Phil's atrophied brain to produce any meaningful thought but GOD DAMN that is the stupidest thing Ive ever heard, literally. I think even Boomers know better.

Another pro tip Phil, and this could even help your financial situation: air conditioners come with a little feature called a thermostat; you can change the settings. If it's that cold you can take it off of Siberian Winter and put it on maybe Springtime in Havana.

Link him shopping cart holding all the needed stuff, and he'd cry about money. You could have all needed items shipped to him, but then he'd complain about his back and how he really shouldn't do it/how it's all wrong and you're a nudnik/you should've tipped him so he could fly his dad to do it for him, compensate for the whole day he needs to take off for it, and pay for dad's hotel stay. He really needs to have static enviroment to show he's in control of it to function, and saying it's shittily organized (even though factual and well constructed criticism) enviroment is just blow against his ego. Nevermind that it would generate more than the bare minimum of work and he can still fleece people with his current setup.

I find it interesting that even the heavy begging and the two "12 hour marathons" were not able to life this out of being a normal, if not subpar, month for Phil. Granted that he was off a week but you would think his doe hard fans would have came up out of pocket to bridge the difference that week would have made. I wonder how Phil is gonna react when his next "viewer event" craters or fails to materialize if he can't reach his sub goal.

Tbh, they kinda did. The April 5th begathon gave enough money overall to effectively cover the week he was gone. He ended up right at about his usual monthly average. Granted, he was trying to do more than average, but he was fortunate to even make it to average.

That points back to my question. Can this trend continue? Can he continue to find gullible whales like Planet Jeff? Can those whales believeably continue to donate at levels they had previously?

Reactions: actually
Imagine how much a window mounted air conditioner costs that is powerful enough to intake 80 degree air and can blow out sub freezing air?

The general consensus I found while doing a quick Google search is that these units typically can blow air 20 degrees cooler than they take in.

I'm having a hard time believing Phil's story.

If he just said, "I'm not rearranging my office," he would have only looked lazy. By making up the story about his computer getting frozen from the AC unit makes him look lazy, stupid, and a liar. Phil always goes the extra mile.

So... during today's pre-stream DSP said he owes his tahx guy $1200 in total. I've clipped it and made some edits to cut out some uninteresting yapping and/or him repeating shit.

The $1200 Tahx Guy Arc:

If for some reason you can't listen to it or don't want to, here are the important quotes:

- "One of the things I've been talking about here on pre-stream, is that I was bothered by financial stuff behind the scenes during my day off yesterday."

- "My tahx guy contacted me, and said: I want you to make a payment against your account because you owe me for doing your federal taxes this year. He charged me over $1200 to do that, and I don't have that money. So I have to start paying him slowly, I have to make a major payment."

- "I'm taking all those tips you gave me over the last week, and I'll be making a payment to him with them. But all the tips I was going to put to bills 'n stuff this month are now gone because they have to go to my accountant to get him to do the work on the federal tax plan."

- "This month will be insanely financially tight, to the point where I KNOW at one point that I'm going to be behind on payments on stuff, there's no way I'm going to be able to pay them all. I just know it, because I don't have enough money, because I was not here streaming for a whole week in April."

- "All the money I raised previous to that time away, went to taxes. So it's not like I have any extra funds at all to make up for the fact I'm gonna make a lot less because I wasn't here for a week last month."

- "I need tips to pay bills this month. If I don't get enough tips this month I can't pay certain bills. I don't know what's going to happen, but obviously they're all gonna have late-fees 'n shit and say everything's behind."

Some notes:

1. Notice how he mentions this is the thing that bothered him on his day off yesterday (Thursday). Does this mean that the "stuff behind the scenes" that bothered him on Monday is a seperate thing entirely? It kinda has to be, right?

2. He won't be paying the $1200 for tahx guy in one go, but he'll do it in payments instead.

3. He's really putting on the pressure by claiming he already knows he won't be able to pay this month's bills. So instead of doing the usual "I will overdraw my bank account", he's now straight up claiming companies will be bothering him with messages about him being late on payments, having to pay late-fees etc. No idea what to think of that, but it's just something I wanted to point out.

4. This past week he has been really emphasizing the whole "I missed a whole week of income in April". Just to show how extremely predictable DSP is, here's a post I made in the CT trip thread on January 1st:
I think I have a hunch about how this whole trip to CT will go down money/businesswise before or after the visit. Or, knowing DSP, more likely before AND after trip.
Even though he's stressing that his parents will pay for the trip to CT, I'm pretty sure he'll do his tried and tested method of emphasizing he misses out on income because he can't/couldn't stream for <insert amount of days> and he REALLY needs the funds right now to pay his bills.

Yah... even for a predictable dood like DSP, that's still kinda scary. 🐔

Hey, if you're looking for a fun one-off video, please consider putting this along with the clip you already shared--

"Nevermind. He did record it, but he uploaded just that prestream to his dspgaming channel, and the actual stream (where he was on camera) to kingofhatevlogs. Because he's a smart business man. SO. Here's your timestamps for this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fU1WyaCpz6E

~6:36 for "all the money went to taxes", ~21:00 for another "no fundraised money spent on the wedding or anything else but taxes"

From this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPsf7rEznvk

Around 1 hour in, he talks about using some of the fundraised money for bills and that he still needed about $4000 out of the $5000, meaning he spent approximately $1500 of the $2500 he got from his begathons on non-tax stuff."

In short, Phil, in the course of ~1 hour, completely contradicted himself on how the begathon monies were spent. And based on the clip above, has already gone back on that again.

Does talking about his 'tax guy' count as talking about taxes, or does he get a pass on that? He promised us he wasn't going to talk about taxes anymore, but this isn't technically taxes, it's the guy who did his taxes.

Does he get a pass? Are we surprised? Do muh bills count because he's using that money to pay the guy who got him on the government tax plan? Can we infinitely roll-over begging until it costs $200 a day for soap because all his soap money is gone? Does he even use soap? Can we send him BlackCurrant overstock shit so he doesn't have to buy soap?

Does anyone care at all?
