I've had no exposure to those subreddits until the last few days and I really didn't understand until I read them why there would be rules against "blogging" and "medfagging", but I certainly understand now. I've read so many "OMG I have a feeding tube too and nobody ever warned me about the risks" posts in the last couple of days that I almost want to meme it. If you legitimately need a feeding tube then the risks come with the territory. If you just want one as an accessory, then you're playing a dangerous game. No-one who actually needs one wants one. No exceptions.

You're been quite generous. I'd say a big chunk of MILLENIALS are. Munchausen ain't just for physical diseases, also for mental illness: "I'm depressed", "I have social anxiety", "I'm autistic". We also have media catering to their need to feel sick and give themselves excuses by inventing new "disorders" or "syndromes". They just can't cope with real life. That's not a sickness.
Clearly you don't live in a town where the ER is clogged with people 50+ who think every time they sneeze it's an emergency and they think they deserve to be in front of people actually dying, sick, or injured just cause those people happen to be younger and apparently less deserving of treatment. Seriously, they're the biggest cause of long wait times in the ER because they can't wait to see their doctor next (which is usually quite often for these people), they want everything now and feel so utterly entitled to it. Entitled dicks exist in every generation and each one has its own generational version of it
Also while yes, it seems proper munchies are more apparent now than before, I think it's more of a case that they have an outlet with the internet to reach more people rather than before where it was just crazy Suzie in town who turned her cold into the plague or that one annoying aunt who thinks she's always got cancer. Plus, look at the Slayton clan. That's not a recent generation thing, people have always played the system. That system could be a rich spouse or government assistance but these people will always find something to exploit. Lazy people tend to be quite good at finding ways to never do anything. Regarding millennial health. There was a report published recently that shows that millennials actually do have higher rates of many common illnesses that are chronic conditions.
It’s interesting, because the general view has been for a while that this generation is the first to have worse health and possibly lower life expectancy than their parents. Diet, obesity, sedentary lifestyle were the main drivers but I think mental illness rates have soared. I see a lot of people talking about this, how depression and anxiety have increased just in the last ten years. Some conditions that were v rare are now endemic - transgender for example. Rates of presentation at Uk clinics have gone up in the thousands of percent for adolescent girls. That rise (in ROGD) seems to kick in around 2012-2013. I suppose that coincides with a lot of the insta culture stuff and the more widespread smartphone usage.
I actually think this generation IS sicker in some ways. When they hit that 50+ bracket a PP mentions, I wonder what will happen to their rates of the diseases that catch up with you then (cardiovascular etc)

Seniors are very fragile until they have to wait in line, because there, they push their way to the front... then they are fragile again.
I get what you say, but Senior citizens have a bunch of issues, including mental health, that are normal and even something we can expect for someone their age. People in their 20s have zero excuse.
