Funimation has always been a shitty company,they just came along at the right time with the right product. I mean anybody who has been a fan of dbz since the 90s know's how big of a clusterfuck all the vhs/dvd release's they have put out, yet even after all those different sets they STILL have not got it right. They barely managed to get the 3,000 preorders for the anniversary set,which fans are already complaining about. The Vic. It's pathetic,they've had like 20 years to get it right, just the the green tint in the broly movie I read about,they are more worried about politics and acting like wannabe celebrities than making a good product. I'm done with funimation after the the Vic bullshit, I cannot watch the dub now without wanting to punch schemmel and sabat in the face and slap rial with baby powder in my palm. Subs only and pre funimation dub for me

At this point you would need a few million dollars to setup a studio and buy rights to enough products to make your brand appealing to consumers. From their you would have to try an convince the Japanese as to why they should give international dubbing rights to a company with no experience (and given how conservative they are we know that is unlikely). You're also dealing with an increasingly shrinking number of studios that are free agents and could even make such a deal in the first-place, Sony has progressively been purchasing more of the anime market both abroad and domestic (they own aniplex).

So with that in mind you have two options if you want to destroy the bastards.
A. Build a better Crunchyroll, by that I mean make a subbed anime legal site with a better codex than whatever mid 2000s shit crunchyroll has been using since conception.

B. Get a HiDive account. Sentai is the only trustworthy Anime company in NA and they seem to have a vested interest in providing fans what they want (They bought the rights to the original LOTGH last year, and seemed to be invested in preserving the legacy of older anime as well as new anime)

Okay...I gotta say something guys...since this first came out, people have spun this as Marchi hoping a minor got/gets raped(ed) in order to validate their cause. I dont really understand, but its literally as clear as day that she is hoping that someone who was victimized previously, comes forward to help their cause. Its literally right there in black and white. I understand the hate boner for the bitch, and believe me, I feel she is nothing but a cancer to Planet Earth, but come on guys, this is quite obviously putting words in someone's mouth.

Sentai is doing decently well and is already primed to take Funimation's place, since being Texas based means it benefits from all the same economic variables Funimation benefits from (like being in a right to work state, not having to deal with unions, etc.) Sony aren't making that many in-roads into anime; Funimation has been their only notable recent investment, and they've owned Aniplex and A1 Pictures for years. Funimation are easily replaceable, should they go tits up.

kind of an old clip, but still relevant. This is from a panel in 2008 during at which time ADV (now sentai filmworks) was on the verge of filing bankruptcy as a result of the recession. The two guys their are Matt Greenfield and John Ledford (who at the time were the heads of ADV, and Ledford is now CEO of sentai). I'd suggest if everyone has the chance to watch this just to see how professional and business savy these two are while they are dealing with the greatest blow their company has ever faced, because these two are geniuses in an industry full of imbeciles.
