Back in the 80s I had a friend who by day was the studio portrait photographer and photo processor for a local Sears store, and by night ran the projection booth at a local theater. One night getting ready for Rocky Horror, we were hanging out in the booth with some people,and my friend had tacked up a black-and-white photo of a severely hydrocephalic infant, we’re talking cartoon-brainiac here, that had been forced into getting portraits done by his parents. My friend had made an extra copy for himself, and dubbed it “BAWON BWAIN” (Baron Brain) in red marker. He had a set of notes of Bawon Bwain’s royal commands taped beneath it. He had of course black-barred the eyes but geez if you saw that kid on the street it wasn’t like you wouldn’t recognize it. It was horrible black humor but I still remember Bawon Bwain to this day. Why the hell parents would do this in a public studio to a child so horribly defective (and a fluid shunt was not helping this kid) I have no idea. My friend said he had to remain professional but he had been horrified and the parents were just talking away about how they’d get photos done every year to show their miracle baby growing up. There were no new Bawon Bwain photos the next year, and my friend was actually really glad the parents hadn’t returned.

Just my opinion from working in the mental health field, no I don't think it is a genuine love but it is whatever narcissists feel about their normal children . They are an extension to control and exploit but unlike normal healthy children they can't fuck up , talk back, runaway or become their own person . They are the ultimate object to gain attention from or a narcissistic supply. Yes the parents are sad when they die but it can't be for the loss of their child's life in the way a non narcissistic person feels in mourning. These narcs mourn the loss of their asspats and something to control/treat as a possession.

The first narc mommy blogger I ever saw was Juliana Wetmore's mom and her nurse's blog and it made me ill because the poor girl was afforded no privacy or dignity. Every single thing she went through they blogged whilst claiming Juliana has normal intelligence and understands everything. She is the worst case of Treacher Collins and she was horrifying to see and even after all her surgery she is horrific looking . I don't know if the parents knew she was like that and still had her but if they did they are monsters. That little girl has to know now she is severely deformed isn't like other children , will be made fun of and she will find her mom's bullshit blog about her . I pity her and if her mom did truly love her she wouldn't exploit her and keep adopting other deformed children to focus on.

That blog still exists and her mom still shares everything as if she were a circus pet despite her being close to 10 if not older . And of course her narc mother adopted 2 more girls from Ukrainia with Treacher Collins and tricare pays millions to do surgery on them so mom has something to blog about .

I can't find any posts about her from after 2016, so hopefully it's because she told her mom to knock it off. She's 15 or 16 now.

I may jokingly refer to the horrors in this thread, but in my nearby town the local 'concrete bunker for jesus' has huge easter banner of perfectly perfect newborn babes with some quote about "his grace" or "glory" or not. Whenever I see that thing, those perfect babies become these wretches, suffering for the sins of vanity and pride.

I know we’ve posted about Beth before. She’s looking extra Sloth-like as of late.

Believe it or not and keeping it strictly not going too deeply into it, I actually know this family in passing. The grandfather and his wife I think she is now at least. They're super nice people. From what I understand they didn't realize she was going to turn out this way and she seems like a happy kid. Kind of that thing where they're aware, but not aware enough to know they're freaks of nature. I want to say the grandfather married (or his girlfriend is) one of Beth's doctors. I find them a bit different because they don't seem to pontificate or carry on about the situation. They simply deal with it and, yes, document it which is a bit iffy. I've never met Beth in person, but she seems happy and well cared for which is more than I can say for those Hartley nightmares.

I know there's nothing you can do about mental disabilities (assuming she's a tard and not just unfortunate looking) and unibrows (sort of), but why didn't they at least fix the cleft lip? The surgery to fix a cleft lip can be preformed as early as 2 months. Unless she's one of those third world babies that are abandoned because of cleft lips? But again, why would you adopt one and not immediately get it fixed?

Also I wouldn't be surprised if Cinderella had seen worse in the brief time she was young enough to be a princess.

Yeah, I find the mom refreshing for the most part. She has her fundie moments every now & then, but most of the time she’s pretty transparent & down to earth about their struggle. She was very open about how blindsided they were after Beth’s birth & how it made her bout with PPD extra rough. She even admitted she didn’t tell Beth “I love you” until she was 8-9mos old. She’s pretty open that she loves Beth but hates her deformities. At one point she said that had she known all of the disabilities her first child would have, she probably would’ve decided not to have kids.

One thing I’ve noticed that I know most followers won’t agree with, is that Beth is allowed to get away with bratty behavior bc of her disabilities & deformities. The biggest issue is when they try to get her to walk or bear weight. She goes absolutely batshit berserk. The drs have confirmed it doesn’t hurt her at all, she just doesn’t want to do it. At one point they tried removing the seat from her walker to force her to bear her own weight. She flipped out so they gave in & put it back. I just wonder if she would be walking by now had they told her to suck it up?

Yes. No reason to subject a kid to a minor surgery when the surgery to give her a functioning brain with two hemispheres doesn’t exist.

This is probably the main reason. I don’t think they do anything but life-saving surgeries on such infants, like trach and feeding tubes.

You correct cleft palates so kids can eat, talk and smile, things this kid doesn’t have to worry about ever doing. (I’m sure’s been tube fed since birth)

I hope Disneyland puts its performers through some sort of training where they're forced to look at the worst horrors birth defects have to offer so they don't chimp out in the heat of the moment.

They're probably warned about ugly kids and disabled kids, but probably not to the full extent. Otherwise too many women would get the fuck out since it's not like the full mascot suits that hide all facial expressions. My guess is that they go out there expecting run of the mill ugly kids, and kids in wheelchairs or bald chemo heads and maybe every now and then a (high functioning) down syndrome kid. Then they get out there and eventually discover the truth is much, much uglier.

Although personally it would have been amercy killing imo. If I’m not mistaken her parents finally did the right thing and pulled the plug when her organs started shutting down.

Oh I wouldn’t cut them any slack. Your distaste should continue full throttle. I followed their IG out of morbid curiosity and
Hospice was on for days as she deteriorated. The poor kid endured weeks of blood draws to monitor her in hopes of I don’t know what. They tortured that kid for Jesus ass pats and still periodically post about how much God taught them and the world through her suffering. It’s disgusting.
