Hmm, the prices on those 3 portal guns on eBay are very different, but for some strange reason their shipping prices are interesting. Two are $20 and the other is $50. Zero of them cost $70 for shipping, which Phil claims was the cheapest he could get. Maybe BITC was not wrong in saying Phil could ship things using USPS for cheaper than $70.

Another interesting tidbit from tonight I haven't seen mentioned is Phil said he had a girlfriend in high school. This is the first I've ever heard of it. Phil did say in the story involving his parents cheating on each other that he rebelled against them in high school when they wouldn't let him go hang with his friends. But we also have conflicting info that Phil didn't really hang out with friends until after high school via the Mark and Liam stories. I'm pretty sure he also said he didn't date in high school because he was too busy and focused on homework and grades. In fact I believe he said all the girls wanted him because he was not interested in dating them.

I find it odd that this guy who basically told his whole life story regarding school would omit this girlfriend.

I'm waiting for him to retcon all of his school stories into one from too much gin affecting his brain.

The hot Latina chick is going to become the non-nun teacher he gave high-end perfume to. She was a chaperone at a school dance in elementary school and grinded on him; and then later became his girlfriend in high-school. But after hanging out at his friend's house and bringing her (and a couple other girls over), she got pissed and broke up with him, after they locked the girls outside the house. Phil didn't take this too well and became obsessed with getting her back. His failures made Phil depressed and got put on a cocktail of drugs.

Phil stated he was a skinny nerd who got bullied. He goes to the dance and is all alone and awkward. The slutty Latina thot is there with her mean girl friends. "Ha ha, I dare you to go up to Philip and grind on him" "Ha ha ewe gross no! What if he gets a boner!?" "Gross ha ha do it! It'll be so funny"

Latina goes over and grinds on Phil for 15 seconds. They all laugh at him as he turns beet red.

Phil thinks to himself. "They want me. They all want me. I'm going to be a lion when I grow up and fuck all the women"

Is this true for the US?
I was dead sure he was playing the system. Not too long ago he said people should GIFT him PSN cards he will use to buy games which is for him same as getting a game donated.
I also remember he writes off everything he can as a business expense. In his last tax saga he even said he went to check his PSN and XBL for previous transactions to write off.
Is really seems to me as if he's playing the system but I have no clue because I know shit is different in EU and US.

TBH, I wouldn't really give him shit for "playing the system" if that's how you want to describe it.

Every single person who's self-employed uses every possible business write off they can to save money. He's not doing anything worse than anyone else does.

I think in his case, if you have something that qualifies as both entertainment and a business expense (think utilities -- in the US you can write off a percentage of your utilities equivalent to the square footage of the area used as "business space"), then you should only be writing off the equivalent that would be used for the business. So if he played a $60 game 50/50 online and offline, he'd technically only be able to write off $30 of that (which means he only gets a portion of that $30 off his taxable income, he doesn't just get that money, a lot of people seem to think tax write offs mean you just get that money back which isn't even close to true), but I doubt the IRS is going to come calling over shit like that since it's basically unprovable.

As for the whole "gift" thing, it can get a little bit weird. My very facile understanding of it is that if it's intended to be used as part of a job or business or for performing a service or something, you can't just qualify something that's not a direct monetary contribution as a "gift". Like if you ran a printing service and someone "gifted" you $10k worth of printers and scanners intended to be used to aide the business, then that's not technically a gift that isn't taxable income; you gotta put that shit on your taxes as actual income in some capacity.

So in that context, you might say he's "gaming the system", but I'd just consider it flat out illegal because the "gift" in question if it's a PSN card or some other electronic voucher is intended to be used to purchase a game which he uses to generate revenue for his business. But the IRS ain't gonna come at him over 100 bucks, either; it's only really an issue if it became a frequent thing because we're talking about like $10 at the end of the day.

Gift tax can be confusing, but in this situation I'd say what he's doing is wrong. The whole "gaming the system" thing though, it's something everyone does and I wouldn't give him shit over it. Everyone's trying to save money wherever they can and if he finds shit he can legally write off because of how the laws are, then he's free to do it and people are sperging out over shit that millions of self-employed people do every day.

Yes, the story is that Mark had rich parents and they had wild parties on Mark's parent's boat. And there was a wild party at Mark's where they all got drunk in the hot tub. Also the moldy crackers/weed/shitting and puking story happened at Mark's.

He definitely touched on this last year where he wanted people to gift him the game codes for Tomb Raider and Spider Man, which ended up with him having multiple game codes cuz too many piggies stepped up. I'm pretty sure Forza and Fists of the North Star were donated codes too, but I'm not as certain as that as I am with the other two games. We also got this a bit this month with Days Gone where he ranted and raved about wanting someone to just give him the full game, not the money for it. Only when he got $100 did he finally say that was a justifiable amount to pick it up.

I also believe he writes off everything he can as a business expense too. I think that's why he has 2 internet lines, he dedicates one of them 100% to uploading/streaming so he can claim 100% of it's use is for the business. He also admitted to writing off his micro-transactions in his mobile games. I wouldn't doubt if he puts down anything and everything and just hopes his "tax guy" lets it go through without question.

Funny you mention that bit. IRS classifies it the same as a telephone line. So the first one in the home can't be deducted, but up to 100% of a special additional line can be.
But it depends on how he files it. If he takes the simplified option, then it's just space * rate, up to a maximum of 300 sqft. At $5/sqft thats a maximum of $1500/year and you can't put anything else related to home office stuff.
The difficult way is with form 8829, where you value the home office my measuring the actual expenses against the overall residence expenses. Then you can deduct mortgage interest, taxes, maintenance and repairs, insurance, utilities, etc etc.

Even though he has a tax guy, I bet he's still using simplified option, because he'd have to keep good records and receipts of everything that is a direct expense of the office area. And he's a lazy fuck. And he has to manage depreciation too.

Though I kind of wish he does do actual expenses. Because then if he ever sold his house, he'd have to pay the capital gains tax which you normally avoid for a primary residence.

Why is this scumbag trying so hard to get out of paying his fucking taxes. Everyone pays taxes. The way he is talking about this makes it sound like this is a legitimate strategy of his.

I hope your shiny nickle is worth it. I really don't think Dave has the balls to pull off any kind of worthwhile tax evasion. He's far too much of a bitch to do something like that.

My take is that making up bullshit stories about your past while drinking gin every day is not a recipe for keeping those stories consistent.

Has anyone ever asked why DSP doesn't play games during the prestream?

I don't even mean the main game, but at least something? Have a chill grinder game that he can play during the 90 minute fucking prestreams that doesn't require his concentration so that the stream isn't just repeating his 4 or 5 "fanarts" the entire time?

I know the concept of not doing 90 minute prestreams is too much to ask because he has to explain every single detail of how to tip him multiple times.
