I wouldn't be shocked if it gets a PC version in a year or so, it's on Unreal Engine 4 and Square Enix is putting everything else on PC these days, even updating the old shoddy mobile ports they originally threw up on Steam to have bug fixes, achievements, etc. They updated the original FF7 and FF8 from being slightly tweaked ports of the original PC games from 20 years ago to having stuff you'd consider basic for a PC game these days like resolution options. Plus Square seems to be spending too much on this for Sony's exclusive to cover it (it's supposed to now be three or four separate games, not just one remake), and additionally Epic Games is involved on the development and probably can make a good offer to get it on their store.

But lol at "he doesn't even look black anymore", have they ever seen a black person not directly from South Sudan or what? They could turn on a NBA game randomly and see all the shades of black out there. Ignoring the lighting (compare the two arms), he does look slightly lighter but there could be all kinds of reasons for that, especially if they're using facial mo-cap which includes lots of limitations on how you can alter the appearance of "playback" still. It might also be because it's a straight frame grab which can often have interesting settings for various reasons, depending on their TV settings he might turn out darker than the original when they actually get to play it. But I already feel stupider for thinking about this for this amount of time.

I see no difference but I'm not American and don't think about fictional person's skin color all day long.

the main difference is that old Barrett is more drawn with anime-ish type characteristics/exaggerations all over the place, while the new one is supposed look like an actual person

that's also the main reason for totally not racist Leo up there thinking his mouth/beard have been "white-washed", it's not a goofy comic head with fun dimensions anymore but one with more human dimensions so they had to resize the mouth and beard to match (though they could have given him a thicker all around beard, like the weird neckbeards somebody like LeBron's been sporting the last couple years, to sorta replicate the shape of the old jaw)

If they were going for 1:1 proportions of the original they would have had to use specific toon shaders like Dragon Quest did. Final Fantasy isn't known for it's cartoonish proportions for the modern games, and it would look really out of place especially considering the majority of FF7's related media all use realism other than the original game.

Considering the go to argument is "you can't speak for others who are [minority group], everyone experiences different things" if you argue against it, what's the point of letting people talk? We already have our conclusion that we need countless recolors of established characters and the only "valid" response is telling them that they need to go farther. Why do you even need people to endlessly tell you to go farther instead of going all in from the start?
