Someone tipped DSP just now to say the new followers from his EPIC tweets haven't found their way to his Twitch channel. DSP explained that his tweet was retweeted by people like H3H3 (pronounced by him as 'HeeHee') and Boogie2988 who aren't gamers, so people who follow them aren't interested in games.

-edit- Clip:

"The truth of the matter with the whole Twitter drama is: if you take a look at the popular people who are involved in, they're not gamers. Like Boogie..."

I see he has reached the COPE stage.

DSP was constantly bringing up the lack of contributions today while playing MK11. I've made a short montage of some of those moments, but I'm pretty sure I've missed (probably quite a few) more because I didn't watch the whole thing.

A couple of notable things:

1. He uses the video cut-off time to complain about contributions so it won't be recorded for the Youtube video. I know he does this regularly, but I still want to point it out for its calculated nature.
2. Notice how often he mentions the stream being slow. Normal streamers would never mention things like this even once, but mister DarksydePhil has no problem mentioning it at least once every hour, almost like being a television commercial (the power of repetition). Imagine how shameless you must be to present yourself like this on a livestream. Also note that a) this stream was about 5.5 hours in length, including a 1.5 hour pre-stream (start-up music included) and a 25 minute break, and b) I most likely missed a couple of other mentions about the lack of contributions.
3. He blames the slow stream on the hype for MK11 supposedly having died down.
4. He talks about attendance not being great (even though he has said multiple times he doesn't look at viewer count... hmm, odd), but whenever I looked at it, it was hovering around the high 400/low 500 mark. Pretty normal for a DSP stream, I'd say.

-edit- For the record: he claimed his bank account is overdrawn and that he has bills that need to be paid, but he only received a total of $30 in tips during this stream.

The weirdest thing about all of this to me is the whole turning off the recording for YT shit he does when you consider a few things:

1. He knows his entire streams get recorded and any potentially incriminating parts get uploaded to YT anyway.
2. He knows detractor vids get like 20x (on the low end) the views that his own videos get, so more people are going to see what he chooses to not upload.
3. He tries to pull this weird double act of claiming that he mainly "works" for his Twitch audience, and that his YT audience is secondary and the channel is "just an archive", but he'll refuse to do certain things because his YT audience won't understand or care (think the Wings incident during the Dark Souls "Magic" Run where he paused to bitch for like 5 minutes about it).
4. He will routinely pull shit like saying his chat is all agreeing with him when they're obviously in disagreement. An obvious recent example is him save scumming in the DKC games:
--He sort of off-hand asked his chat if they wanted to see him do the same stages without save scumming, or to save scum and make progress, and literally every single person who responded said they would rather him not save scum, but he then announces that everyone in stream chat wants him to make progress and "have fun, not struggle with the same stages".
--He talks to this invisible YT audience that he says he doesn't care about when every single person in his stream chat can tell that he's obviously lying, because they're reading what he's contradicting. And on top of that, he has no connection with this invisible audience because he has his comments disabled. It's just fucking bizarre, WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING TO, PHIL?

It's just so fucking weird. I mean, it's not hard to presume why he does it, but why blatantly lie about the shit to your Twitch audience when they're sitting there disagreeing with him in his face. He just pretends they don't exist. Twitch obviously brings in more money than YT does, why would you try to still cater to YT when all the shit you're trying to do to save face by not recording/acknowledging certain things ends up on there anyway and viewed by a much larger audience?

Well guys it's been a hectic couple weeks but seems like things are finally back to normal. Accounts overdrawn and he needs tips two days away from his Twitch payout.

Maybe the next time something of his gets artificially inflated that redemption arc will truly happen. Didn't work with YouTube and his "worst game ever" review, his tweet meant the world to him and nobody else, all that's left is for him to get raided by a huge streamer (talking 10,000-100,000 viewers) which will cause him to instantly end the stream in a panic.

That's what DSP wants: to talk to his audience or at them without them "talking back" to him.

He barely talks to his Twitch audience outside of handholding.

I see he's playing MLB tonight. If he didn't care about Youtube, he would unmute the background music.

Edit: Minecraft is too stressful because he has to run around and make the villagers do things.

No, I understand exactly why, but I'm trying to rationalize it. I know that's a fool's errand when dealing with Goutlord, but I still want to try and do it. There has to be some train of thought in his head that makes sense of this to him and I want to know what it is.

I would LOVE to see his bank account(s) at this point, because I cannot fathom how he can receive literally 2 months worth of Twitch payments (unexpectedly!) and still piss it all away to such an extent that he's already back literally begging for tips. His ineptitude is breathtaking to watch.

He's going to step up the begging I'd assume on Saturday. He'll say that he needs money for his bills to clear and he set it up so all of his bills clear at the end of the month.

He can't hide the fact that he gets paid in the middle of the month from Twitch anymore but he wants more than the average. I am shocked that he hasn't revamped his Patreon goals by now. Because he would have gotten a boost by now. He pushed Twitch as an avenue for revenue as hard as he can and he's too lazy to do anything on Youtube. Whelp.

Edit: Trader's Joes isn't that bad. There frozen section is fucking bait though, good food but the portions are kind small for a family. Their produce section is pretty cheap actually. Trader's isn't bad for someone like Phil as he's looking to feed two people.

This internet line shit is fucking bonkers; DSP has two internet lines, Pandalee and DSP used to stream and upload content, and there are various ways to cut down on packet traffic on the router/modem.

on the pre-stream he mentioned his bank is getting overdrafted then described his plans for his day off on friday which include him and kat getting a haircut at the salon and going out to eat breakfast

He gets his Twitch payment (and maybe Youtube, though that could be later) on the 15th. Even if it takes that magic "day to clear" that he often uses to justify one more day of begging for tips, it'll be in his sweaty little sausage hands before Friday.
