We do have this in the US. However, the places I’ve been give women the “men’s price” if they have a super simple haircut. They don’t upcharge them because they’re women, but by the wording they certainly could. Not sure they do the same if a man wants a complicated cut.

Jonnyboy, since you’re reading, take my heartfelt recommendation - Dee’s advice is stellar. A bit of Nair or any other hair removal cream - the cheaper and nastier the better - on your balls and girldick for longer than the pack advises is a fantastic idea.

Let me set the record straight here; Women's haircuts typically cost more because they usually come with a shampoo and blowdry and/or style with a curling iron or flat iron, often the blowdry is section by section with a round brush and takes longer than the cut. It's a hell of a lot more work than a dry cut on a man with clippers or a scissor overcomb. Many men don't even want to see the back of their head after the cut.

Even short cuts on women tend to take longer because they are cut section by section in a round shape, not a square one, although because of the reeeing many salons charge by length or detail services by price. If a woman wants a men's cut with clippers and no shampoo or blowdry, she should pay the men's price. If Jonathan wants to be pampered and have his hair shampooed, cut and blowdried, he will pay more regardless of identity. Anyone forced to touch Jonathan should charge him more out of principle anyways, because he is a disgusting asshole who would probably moan loudly at the sink when getting his hair washed, at which point anyone would be perfectly in their rights to douse him in cold water, tell him they are uncomfortable and discontinue providing the service if they choose. Barbers can cut men's styles faster and better than stylists because they typically do many more of them. I felt bad when I stopped going to my buddy's wife for haircuts after moving here, but they weren't that great. A good barber does a far cleaner fade than any stylist I've ever been to.
